Someone just passed an information...why not get the sense and forget the English. There are many intelligent scholars in the world that can't speak correct English. Even in Canada you will meet many of them. So let us be focus please.
Please I say this not out of scorn, but from utmost concern!

Hi dear,
It's let's be focused* not focus....

This advice is for everyone..

Nigerians hope you are aware of what have be going on now even the news is everywhere that 70 percent of Nigerians are submitting Fake documents especially Account Statements . Because of that the Canada immigration as set up a body secretly to ensure there is proper security background check especially in Nigeria and which is the main reason most passport that where sumited for stamp as of April till now as been delay, taken more longer than before just to stamp..

This is what they do now. Once you applied for visa and your application will still go through the normal process and after they have finalize your applications including your documents and if your applications meet the requirement you will be granted approve and ask to sumit your passport for stamp .

Once you sumit your passport for stamp it will be process and the Nigeria immigration here will now do there own local 2nd background check which require more authentic verification on your sumited documents. Contacting your banks including sponsore bank brach head office to confirm if your statement of account that you sumited is legit and other documents as well even to the extend they do ask bank to contact the sponsoreship if truly he or she is the one that stand for you as a sponsore. With all this proper 2nd background check it take them time as they check every documents you sumited and this is done locally within Nigeria not Kenya or Canada so be ready..

After all the proper check up then if they found out you sumit a counterfeit bank statements or fake document. Then they will mail you directly from Lagos immigration officer that you submitted a counterfeit bank statements and give you 10 days or more to defend. So don't think you can scope them because they have done there re-search properly before they contact you to defend it : As for the penalty is 5 years banned or more with red flag .. also it will affect your visa profile and difficult to enter top countries that share the same data base with them like , US, Australia, UK and more of them ....

Please if you are applying through agent that they do grant people Canada visa approve and charge you high .. there is no shortcuts neither the agent is a brother of Canada president ooo. Don't allow the agent to spoil your visa reputation because they don't have anything to lose its you that will face the penalty oo and still lose your money you paid for account package or sponsorship package ...

Canada is not heaven that you must die there , so if you know you are not fianacially strong and you have no good sponsoreship and you tried and no way , you can still try other countries that relate to your purpose of visit... maybe as a step stone

Excellent information sir but this your English is headache- inducing! You need to work on it, especially with respect to your academic pursuits.
Please I say this not out of scorn, but from utmost concern!

Someone I know applied in early May, got his biometrics correspondence same May, Eligibility review started this June, after few days, he got a medical request. For those in similar situations, keep faith.

Anyone like me here on his or her second app, 21 May submission, background check started 22 May and no update again since then?

Did the person apply online. Cos sometimes people confuse biometrics correspondence with biometrics request letter. My 2 cents. If not, then its a confirmation that anything can happen.

Yea I mean biometric request letter. Sorry for the mistake

OK. You're in order.
So you have to wait for eligibility review to start and probably then the biometric validity correspondence will come in. They are two different things

A decision has already been reached on your application and it's an automatic refusal. Nairlanders should be well prepared that there is a certain period of time (peak period) when the Canadian embassies are faced with multitudinous applications and will intentionally start refusing study permit applications with insubstantial and general reasons. It is at this point in time we start receiving generic GCMS NOTES from potential candidates who were denied of their visas. It might be a shock to you guys seeing so many applicants receiving biometrics correspondence letter/refusals, however this is the trend I have carefully observed in the past two years and above of my existence on the reputable platform.. A great deal of approvals will subsequently follow as soon as the refusals have been dished out. As a consequence, you guys shouldn't fright whenever you start facing this changes on this thread.

For the benefit of those that were refused recently, I'll personally advise you from the wisdom of my experiences to use the attached GCMS NOTE in preparation of your visa reapplication because I have noticed an act of using general GCMS note by the embassy has begun.

I wish you all the best
Well said Frank, but I think the issue now is that no one has been refused. That's why we think its possible CIC have changes their format.
Cos even before Biometrics correspondence used to be sent at the beginning before, instead of at the end.
I'm thinking it's possible the format has changed.
What d'you think?

Please, the rate at which I am seeing biometric correspondence coming before medical request or medical changing to pass is getting me scared or is it a new pattern.

I applied on the 7th of June and I did upfront medicals and got a biometric collection letter on the 8th of June then on the 13th of June my medicals was changed to Passed. Review of Eligibility has not started yet, Is this normal or a good sign?
Do you mean biometric request letter? This the first time I'm seeing biometrics correspondence come before review of eligibility.
Interesting

Hello e-family, Please I need the advise of the GURU's in the house. I did paper application for SOWP on the 15th of Feb'19. I got a medical request on the 13th of May. Successfully sent the medical e-copy back to them that same day since I did up-front medical. Got Biometric validation mail on the 23rd of May. I was able to link my application online and saw that Medical was past on the 15th of May. I have not heard from them since then and my status still reads we are processing your application.
My worry now is..how long will it take to hear from them since they have my passport.
We had already planned a trip this summer to the UK for a family event on the 24th of July and we have valid visa.
Today makes the application 17weeks.
Would it be advisable to write or just wait and believe that we will get our passport back before that date.
Thanks for your usual response.

Please contact them and explain in details about your upcoming trip.
Attach flight reservation. The fact is decision is already made by now, and your gentle reminder will not impact on your application outcome.
All the best!

I've been trying to sort out the accommodation end. I dont think I should book an apartment just like that. I'm thinking a short stay airbnb for starters.
Anyone in Kingston that can recommend one or put me through. Abeg my brothers and sisters help a soul. Thanks

Good morning my people...

LONG POST ALERT!!
I have gone through a lot of posts on this thread, and I think I have gained insight about the study permit application to a degree.
I have learnt that we are unique individuals from various backgrounds, experiences and financial circumstances. Comparably, we have stories in varying shades that our life experiences so far, are telling.
My overall advice for each one of us is to look inward , reflect and choose the best strategy that will work for you. #use your church mind.
There will always be different kinds of advice e.g. apply alone, write 5 page SOP, -no! Write only 2 pages, do not apply with your children. No! Apply with them (at least the VOs should know you are a nursing mother). Apply for your family when you get to Canda, No! You can do it immediately you get your TRV.

When people come here to tell you what they did, they don't tell you their background and circumstances, so you really cannot have a clear picture of why it should work for them

Some people are very well travelled. Some people are currently abroad, and applied from their with their families. The travel history they have gained might be the critical factor tipping the scale in their favour.
Another example is someone in seriously good financial standing might apply for a PGD with his family , and get the visa before a Master's student applying alone.

A single individual, funded and applying without hometies might get that visa if (s)he has a lot of distinguished work done in the home country with several medals and awards.

Some people e.g. myself, write extremely explanatory SOPs simply because we have waded through a lot to get to where we are now and these experiences and relevant career achievements are worth telling.

Most Visa officers are psychologists. They consider the whole picture. So please, after considering the plethora of advice, use your God given mind to analyse your unique situation before you apply.

May God give fruit to all our efforts.

Hmmm you are very right!
