Presidential guard officers in Burkina Faso have seized power in a coup, with reports of more than 10 deaths amid protests in the capital, Ouagadougou. A close ally of former President Blaise Compaore has been named the country's new leader, state television reports. The US, France and African Union (AU) condemned the coup in the former French colony. Those killed were shot dead by presidential guard forces in the capital, a civil society group said. The claim by the influential Balai Citoyen group could not be independently verified. A medical source in the city's main hospital said three people had been killed. An unknown number of protesters have been detained. 'Rise up' The coup leaders have imposed a night-time curfew across the West African state, and have ordered the closure of land and air borders, AFP news agency reports. The headquarters of Mr Compaore's Congress for Democracy and Progress (CDP) party were ransacked in Ouagadougou as news of the coup spread, it adds. The AU and regional body Ecowas, the Economic Community of West African States, called for the immediate release of "hostages", referring to interim President Michel Kafando and Prime Minister Isaac Zida, who were detained at a cabinet meeting in the president palace on Wednesday. Their transitional authority was due to hand power to a new government after elections on 11 October. source: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-34276807

Science/Technology / Some Of The "Most Important Social Technological Invention" Of 21st Century by whyteheart: 11:22am On Aug 17, 2015 |
The 21st century is the current century of the Anno Domini era or the Common Era, in accordance with the Gregorian calendar. It began on January 1, 2001, and will end on December 31, 2100. It is the first century of the 3rd millennium. Good to know, 2015 is the 15th year in the 21st century. Here are some of the most important social technological invention of 21st century. Apple iPod (2001) Portable MP3 players had been around for many years before Apple launched its version in 2001, but the iPod – together with Apple's iTunes software – was the technology that really transformed the way people listened to music. The device's large internal storage capacity meant it was no longer necessary to carry around CDs or cassette tapes, and the sleek design made it a desirable item to own. Mozilla Firefox (2002) Firefox was the first web browser to challenge the dominance of Microsoft's Internet Explorer, after Netscape Navigator was killed off in the 'First browser war'. It was free and open-source, so it appealed to Windows users who did not want to be locked into Microsoft's software ecosystem. However, it has since been left in the dust by Google's Chrome browser. Skype (2003) Skype has transformed the way people in different countries communicate. It used to cost an arm and a leg to call family or friends abroad, but Skype made it possible to speak to them – and even video chat – for free over WiFi. Initially Skype was only available as a desktop client, but over time it has launched on mobile, and many people now use it to talk loved ones and colleagues at home as well. LinkedIn (2003) LinkedIn is a business-oriented social networking service. It was founded in December 2002 and launched on May 5, 2003, it is mainly used for professional networking. In 2006, LinkedIn increased to 20 million members. As of March 2015, LinkedIn reports more than 364 million acquired users in more than 200 countries and territories. Facebook (2004) Facebook was not the first social network – it built on the success of earlier sites like MySpace and Bebo. However, it quickly overtook its predecessors thanks to its simplicity, ease of use and exclusivity, (users initially had to have a registered university email address to become a member). Today the website connects over 1.3 billion people worldwide, with users from a vast array of backgrounds, nationalities and ages. YouTube (2005) Created by three former PayPal employees in 2005, YouTube has grown to become the world's most popular video-sharing website. Key to its success is the ability for anyone from anywhere in the world to broadcast themselves for free. As a result, YouTube is a melting pot of news events, political messages, music clips, hilarious blunders, adverts and cat videos. Twitter (2006) Twitter is an online social networking service that enables users to send and read short 140-character messages called "tweets". Registered users can read and post tweets, but unregistered users can only read them. Users access Twitter through the website interface, SMS, or mobile device app. Twitter Inc. is based in San Francisco and has more than 25 offices around the world. Apple iPhone (2007) Apple's iPhone was the first touchscreen smartphone to gain mass-market adoption. Part of the reason for its appeal was the fact that it could be controlled using a finger rather than requiring a stylus. The iPhone went on to spawn an entire industry, with electronics manufacturers all over the world developing their own versions of the device. Apple has now sold over 500 million iPhones globally. Google Android (2008) Following the ecstatic response to Apple's iPhone in 2007, other mobile phone manufacturers were desperate to get in on the action, but they needed an operating system that could compete with iOS. Android was originally created as an open source OS for cameras, but was bought by Google in 2005 and launched as a mobile OS in 2008. It is now the primary operating system for Samsung, Sony, LG and HTC phones, among others, and boasts over 80 per cent marketshare worldwide. 4G (2008) In 2008, the International Telecommunications Union specified a set of requirements for fourth generation (4G) standards. 4G provided significantly faster mobile broadband internet access than 3G, with a much higher data capacity, supporting IP telephony, gaming services, HD mobile TV, video conferencing, and cloud computing. 4G services are now available to around 75 per cent of the UK's population. Apple iPad (2010) Apple did it again in 2010 with the launch of its tablet PC, the iPad. It was by no means the first device of its kind, but it succeeded in capturing the public's imagination, and kickstarted a new trend. It has remained the single most popular tablet PC ever since, but Android overtook Apple iOS to become the number one tablet operating system in terms of user numbers earlier this year, thanks to a wide variety of cheap alternatives. Crime / South Korea Decriminalize Adultery by whyteheart: 10:41am On Feb 26, 2015 |
South Korea’s Constitutional Court has struck down a 60- year-old statute outlawing adultery under which violators faced up to two years in prison. The nine-member bench ruled by seven to two that the 1953 law was unconstitutional. “Even if adultery should be condemned as immoral, state power should not intervene in individuals’ private lives,” said presiding justice Park Han-Chul. It was the fifth time the apex court had considered the constitutional legality of the legislation which had made South Korea one of the few non-Muslim countries to regard marital infidelity as a criminal act. In the past six years, close to 5,500 people have been formerly arraigned on adultery charges - including nearly 900 in 2014. But the numbers had been falling, with cases that end in prison terms increasingly rare. Whereas 216 people were jailed under the law in 2004, that figure had dropped to 42 by 2008, and since then only 22 have found themselves behind bars, according to figures from the state prosecution office. The downward trend was partly a reflection of changing societal trends in a country where rapid modernisation has frequently clashed with traditionally conservative norms. “Public conceptions of individuals’ rights in their sexual lives have undergone changes,” Park said, as he delivered the court’s decision. In April last year, South Korea blocked the newly launched Korean version of the global adultery hook-up site Ashley Madison, saying it threatened family values. In the past adultery could only be prosecuted on complaint from an injured party, and any case was closed immediately if the plaintiff dropped the charge - a common occurrence that often involved a financial settlement. The law was grounded in a belief that adultery challenged the social order and damaged families, but critics insisted it was an outdated piece of legislation that represented state overreach into people’s private lives. The debate over its future simmered away for some time, bubbling over from time to time especially if a public figure fell foul of the statute. Such was the case in 2008 when one of the country’s best- known actresses, Ok So-Ri, was given an eight-month suspended sentence for adultery. Ok had unsuccessfully petitioned the Constitutional Court, arguing that the law amounted to a violation of her human rights in the name of revenge. The court had previously deliberated the issue in 1990, 1993 and 2001, and in each case dismissed the effort to have it repealed. In 2008, five of the justices deemed the law to be unconstitutional, arguing that adultery could be condemned on moral grounds but not as a criminal act. The law was originally designed to protect the rights of women at a time when marriage afforded them few legal rights, with most having no independent income and divorce carrying enormous social stigma. “But it has long lost that relevance,” said Kim Jung-Beom, a lawyer and specialist on family law, before the judgement. “For a start, the number of female ‘offenders’ has increased, and in some ways the law has become a way of naming and shaming women,” Kim said. He also noted that other laws now provided women with greater legal security in their marriages, and a fair division of assets in the event of divorce. Defenders of the statute said its loss would encourage sexual depravity, an argument that Kim said had “not a shred of evidence” as support. source: www.theguardian.com/world/2015/feb/26/south-korea-legalises-adultery |
Politics / Buhari's Certificate Saga Suit Now 10 by whyteheart: 7:38am On Feb 26, 2015 |
The number of cases filed against the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), over alleged non-submission of his academic certificates to the Independent National Electoral Commission, has risen to at least 10. Our correspondent confirmed 10 of the cases on Wednesday though more suits might have been filed. Eight of the 10 confirmed suits are before the Federal High Court in Abuja, one before a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Abuja and one other before the Federal High Court in Umuahia, Abia State. The one before the Chief Magistrate’s Court, a direct criminal complaint, is seeking the trial of Buhari for alleged perjury for making a false claim on oath of possessing academic qualifications. The suit, before Chief Magistrate Abubakar Babashani of the FCT Magistrate Court, wants Buhari “to be brought to book” for allegedly claiming on oath that he had a certificate he did not obtain.” The four complainants are Shield Ufot, Jimmy David, Ogueri Enwerem and Tochukwu Okorie. Ufot said on Wednesday that the suit was filed on behalf of the Niger Delta Salvation Front. In their suit, the complainants claimed that Buhari, “with intent to mislead a public officer as to compliance with the provisions of Section 31 of the Electoral Act, 2010 deposed to various affidavits in the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, wherein he stated that he attended Katsina Provincial Secondary School, Katsina State and obtained a West African School Certificate and that the certificates he claimed to have obtained are with the Nigerian Army.” “That the Nigerian Army, in whose custody Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) claim the certificates are, issued a statement and denied being in possession of the school certificates,” the plaintiffs added. But the plaintiffs in the nine other suits are seeking court order disqualifying the opposition presidential candidate in the March 28 poll. The cases before the Federal High Court in Abuja are seeking the disqualification of Buhari as a presidential candidate. The cases are: FHC/ABJ/CS/116/15 (between Hon Donald Daunemigha v. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari); FHC/ABJ/CS/13/15 (Hon. Sergin Onuka Ibe v. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari); FHC/ABJ/CS/01/15 (Mr. Chukwunweike Okafor vs Buhari and two others); and FHC/ABJ/CS/14/15 (Barr. Max Ozoka v. Buhari and two others). They also include FHC/ABJ/CS/3/15 (Barr. Friday Ojealaro V. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and two others; FHC/ABJ/CS/20/15 (Barr. Friday Ojealaro V. Buhari and three others) and FHC/ABJ/CS/68/15 (Ayakeme Whiskey vs INEC and another). The above mentioned cases are before Justice Adeniyi Ademola. Another case before the Federal High Court in Abuja seeking Buhari’s disqualification was filed on February 10, 2015 by Presidential View and Endorsement Platform and Barr. Smart Iheazor (FHC/ABJ/CS/1040/15). The defendants in the suit are Buhari and INEC. The one before the Federal High Court in Umuahia was filed by Selekaye Victor Ben against Buhari and the Nigerian Army. The suit is numbered FHC/ABJ/CS/114/2015. Education / Education Stakeholders Divided Over Minimum Teaching Qualification by whyteheart: 7:28am On Feb 26, 2015 |
The plans by the Federal Ministry of Education to make bachelor’s degree the minimum teaching qualification in Nigeria has continued to generate mixed reactions from stakeholders in the sector, with some viewing the decision as a tall order, while some others say it will make Nigeria be at par with global best practices, as well as meet global challenges. Recall that the Minister of Education, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, while receiving visiting Finland Ambassador to Nigeria, Pirjo Suomela-Chowdhury last week said the target of the Federal Government was to make first degree a minimum teaching qualification. Responding when the Ambassador pointed out that in Finland all teachers have a minimum of Masters Degree, Shekarau vowed that the Federal Government would explore all measures to restore the respect, dignity and status of teachers in the country. He was optimistic that a time will come in Nigeria when all schools will be handled by university graduates. Welcoming the decision, the Deputy Director Academic, Distance Learning Centre, University of Ibadan, Prof Oyesoji Aremu, said if Nigeria wants to be at par with global challenges, then the country should raise the bar of teaching qualification entry. He said “I quite agree with the Honorable Minister that the minimum teaching qualification should be university degree given the increasing pedagogy and androgogy challenges. Increasing challenges “This is not to say that the current National Certification is inferior. If Nigeria wants to be at par with global challenges, then the country should raise the bar of teaching qualification entry and it should be first degrees in education.” According to him, it is the legislative responsibility of the National Assembly members to so legislate first degree as minimum qualification for teaching, adding that education is on the concurrent list which any state can legislate on. Aremu, who based his argument on the premise that in most private primary schools in Nigeria, university degree holders are the ones teaching said, “Nigeria cannot pretend as if all is well with the education sector.” Asked what the future holds for NCE holders, the Deputy Director, Academics, Distance Learning Centre, U.I said that this is not the first time we are migrating from one academic teaching qualification to another. “What became of the holders of Teacher Grade III in the 1960s and Teacher Grade II Certificate in the 1970s? He, therefore, posited that the NCE certificates should become feeding certificates for bachelor of education degrees, adding that it will make teaching profession to be truly professionalised. “For us to raise the standard of education in Nigeria”, he noted, “the bar of teaching qualification should be raised.” Viewing teachers as professionals, Aremu pointed that through university education, teachers are trained not only in the rudimentary knowledge of pedagogy, but also in the art of managing classroom and basic psychological knowledge in the handling of learners. He said “While anybody can teach, it is only professional teachers who can truly educate for self-development and nation building. The art of teaching is scientific and if we want to get it right, we should do the needful.’’ Teaching qualification Also, finding nothing wrong with making bachelor’s degree the minimum teaching qualification in the country is the Zonal Coordinator, Lagos Zone of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Professor Adesola Nasir, who said the quality of the end products is what matters. Nasir said “There is nothing wrong with it if the interest is to improve the quality of the end products which are the graduates of these institutions but the larger implication however is that we can’t give what we don’t have. “The emphasis should be to improve the quality of our graduates as there are better things our graduates can contribute to than teaching. Though, it is understandable they are trying to create a critical mass of graduates for the teaching profession.” Meanwhile, Professor Ladipo Adamolekun, an independent scholar and a professor of public administration is calling on the Federal Government to carry out an in-depth research and assessment of the Colleges of Education before such decision can be implemented. He said that instead of making such announcement public, government should rather meet with the Provosts of Colleges of Education to know the challenges they face. Adamolekun said “Even if it should be implemented, it should be phased because I don’t think what your certificate reads matters. Even if these Colleges are allowed to award degrees, it would not change the situation on ground as there needs to be total upgrading of these institutions. “Why are primary school pupils not taught by school certificate holders like we were in the sixties who were better educated than most university graduates of today. I remember I had to teach with my HSC certificate. “The short answer is that this is a cheap statement that is not based on any study as I doubt if any study has been carried out to find out what is really wrong with the teaching profession. Teaching profession “Also, the Federal Government needs to meet with the Provosts to know what their problems are, the quality of their entrants, the quality of facilities they have, among other issues. Holding a contrary view, Provost, Michael Otedola College Of Primary Education, Epe, Lagos State, Professor Olu Akeusola, said government is deceiving itself as it makes statements without considering the implications. “They made such statement in the nineties and it didn’t work. They failed to realise that education is like a pyramid which is wider at the bottom. The idea of having bachelor’s degree holders as teachers would never work because we need to go back to the basics where students from the senior secondary are buffers and feeders for the universities, those from technical schools would feed polytechnics while those from Grade 2 would feed Colleges of Education” Akeusola said. A company which wants to introduce flying cars says its first model, the Transition, should be available commercially in 2016. Boston based company Terrafugia says it has overcome technical difficulties that saw the firm lose favour with some investors who had expected aircraft sales to begin in 2012. Chief executive Carl Dietrich told BBC Click's Dan Simmons the company was also developing a vertical take-off and landing aircraft, which they expect to be available in eight to 10 years. Mr Dietrich explained he wanted to transform personal transportation and offer the public the chance to fly to where they need to go with minimal tuition. Science/Technology / Apple CEO Tim Cook To Build An Apple Car (icar) ~ Photo by whyteheart: 10:50am On Feb 18, 2015 |
T he wildest tech rumor this week comes from little substance, but somehow manages to ignite the imagination: According to Business Insider, an unsolicited Apple employee emailed to say that a group at Apple is working on a project that would "give Tesla a run for its money." For this to be true, it means that an Apple employee either a) broke Apple's strict rules for secrecy in some obvious way that makes Business Insider believe the email actually came from an Apple employee, or b) that it was some sort of vague and intentional leak from Apple, sent straight to Business Insider. Both scenarios, while not impossible, strain credibility. First, it's hard to imagine that an Apple employee would risk losing their job for such little apparent gain, especially if they're working on a project that is apparently so cool. And second, it seems like an intentional leak might contain something a little less insipid than claiming an Apple project will "give Tesla a run for its money." Granted, it appears as if the email was intended to support the idea that Tesla employees are jumping ship to work at Apple (while Tesla has hired away 150 Apple employees). In which case, the very act of alluding to a secret project and name- dropping Tesla seems like one of the more stupid things a presumably "very smart" Apple employee would bother to do. The Apple Car Rumor Has Legs Still, the initial rumor became a catalyst for The Mac Oserver's Bryan Chaffin, who asked around to some unnamed sources who might be in positions to have a good idea whether Apple is working on a car. Plus, he found that Apple appears to have attracted some Tesla employees that have car-oriented experience, which seems obvious if you're poaching a new employee from a car company. But...now he's a believer. According to Chaffin , the chances that Apple is working on an actual car is close to 100 percent. To some people who know Apple only as the digital tech gadget maker, this seems like a project wildly removed from Apple's core competence. I don't think it is. I think Apple believes it can build most anything -- and the company certainly has the cash to fund most any project. Imagine Apple CEO Tim Cook. The guy is obviously freakishly smart, able to guide Apple to be able to produce highly complex devices with massive supply chains -- under intense scrutiny -- that can nonetheless be manufactured in the tens of millions and delivered globally on the same day. The sheer scale of Apple's products, coupled with their complexity and the worldwide markets they go into, must surely result in some measure of confidence that a company with a US$700 billion market cap could produce its own car. So, could Apple build its own car? Without a doubt. The question is, would Apple want to? Back in 2013, Apple clarified how it decides to do things -- which products and features it decides to deliver. Apple still has a web page that shows off a video and notes that there are a thousand "no's" for every "yes." Apple says that it designs for people. That it wants to create products that make life better. Cook has been saying for years -- in various ways -- that Apple chooses to build products that delight and impact people's lives. The marketing of Apple's products supports that, too, particularly with the iPad, but also with new products. In fact, at the Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet Conference this week, Cook just said that there has not yet been a single smartwatch that has changed the way people live their lives. He then noted that, at Apple, that's their objective: "We want to change the way you live your life." What Better Impact Than a Better Car? I think Apple limits its thinking by what's most important, not by what's quickly possible. And clearly, Cook is looking for products that make life simpler, easier, and more delightful. When you pair that straightforward goal with Cook's apparent passion for a more environmentally friendly Apple -- case in point, the recent $850 million investment in solar energy to power Apple's operations in California -- the notion of building an electric car starts to fit into Cook's Apple. Not only do cars have massive room for "improvement" around design, simplicity, and efficiency, there is also great room for user-based improvements. In 10 years, will Apple CarPlay on the dash of a new Ford or GM be enough for Cook? A natural extension of Apple's continuity among products could go to a place where people and families still spend an insane amount of time -- inside of a car. Why stop at work, stop at the home, or stop at your pocket or wrist? If better communication is important to the world, how important is better transportation? A car represents a starting point for a very worthy challenge for Apple. Could Apple make cars safer? More energy- efficient? Quite possibly. Better yet, would Apple's maestro of industrial design, Jony Ive, want to design a car? Come on, who wouldn't want to design a car? I would jump at the chance to build something so iconic, so culturally important. If Cook has any interest in making Steve Jobs' dent in the universe any bigger -- if not putting a giant bandage over the fossil-fuel guzzling world we live in that results in political upheaval over the control of non-renewable natural resources -- why not start with a better car? At the very least, it's easy to imagine Cook showing a willingness to fund the research and development of such an effort. So is the rumor true or not? I hope it's true. Sports / Chelsea Fans Filmed Pushing Black Man Off Paris Metro by whyteheart: 10:25am On Feb 18, 2015 |
A shocking video of a group of Chelsea supporters singing a racist chant and preventing a black man from boarding the Métro in Paris has sparked widespread condemnation. Amateur footage shows the man repeatedly trying to get onto a train, only to be shoved out of the door and back onto the platform. The fans are heard chanting "We’re racist, we’re racist, and that’s the way we like it". The incident was filmed at the Richelieu-Drouot station ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes on 17 February, and released to the Guardian by British expatriate Paul Nolan. Chelsea released a statement on Tuesday evening condemning the behaviour of the fans. "Such behaviour is abhorrent and has no place in football or society," Chelsea's statement read. "We will support any criminal action against those involved, and should evidence point to involvement of Chelsea season-ticket holders or members the club will take the strongest possible action against them, including banning orders." Mr Nolan told the Guardian: “The doors were open and I could see and hear that a lot of chanting was going on. It looked like it was quite aggressive so I just took out by phone to record it. "He was obviously completely shocked when they pushed him off. I don’t think he realised who they were. He then tried to get on again and got pushed off a second time. "I was just completely appalled by it and so that’s why I tried to catch some of it on my phone, although I was a bit self-conscious as it was getting quite aggressive and I overhead one of the Chelsea fans say something about stabbing someone. I think he was referring to a Paris Saint-Germain supporter who was on the platform," Mr Nolan added. "There definitely was a culture shock. I heard a couple of French guys saying: 'I can’t believe this. It’s insane.'" French police reportedly used teargas outside the match venue when scuffles involving Chelsea fans flared up before the game. The train incident could potentially lead to disciplinary action from Uefa if the governing body decided an event that occurred away from the stadium was within its remit. If further action was taken, Chelsea could face a fine and a warning. Source: www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/chelsea-fans-filmed-pushing-black-man-off-paris-metro-10052713.html |
Politics / Read What A Nigerian In Diaspora Has To Say About Jonathan And The APC. by whyteheart: 10:32am On Feb 14, 2015 |
Jonathan Must Leave By All Means: And Why Opposition Leaders Are Crying Loud. by Chidi Cali, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. Some of the decision of President Goodluck Jonathan has not gone down well with some of leaders and Moneybags of APC, as he closed some of their sources of defrauding Nigeria. READ AND BE WISE. 1] Majority of the Oil Blocks license in Nigeria will be expiring in few months and many of them are scared that President Jonathan might not renew their licence. They want to him out by all means to retain the Oil blocks license. 2] They were hurt them President Jonathan ended their subsidy fraud. Govt reduced the payment from N1.4Trillion in 2011 to less than N400Billion in 2013 and yet there is no scarcity of Fuel in the last 3 years. 3] Jonathan sold off NEPA and ended their fraudulent NEPA contracts. Now local and International companies are building their power plants to stabilize Power. They will not use any NEPA staff to put SALT on our Power plants again to put everyone in darkness. 4] Jonathan removed 57,000 ghost workers and 43,756 Ghost Pensioners from civil service and reduce their wealth. These rogues are using their wealth to pay newspapers, Online media blogs to be lying and sharing propaganda against the President. The Ignorants joined them to shout CHANGE. Are they changing to re-employ the removed Ghost workers or the Pensioners. Be warned about the CHANGE they want you to Vote For. 5] The President handed NPA verification to a third party and eliminated port frauds. They do not benefit anymore, by dubiously seizing People goods and turning round to buy them in Auction. It is now 24 hours operation and surveillance giving no room for their agents to steal or frustrate Importers. They want their evil reign to return. That is their CHANGE. 6] The cabals were hurt when Jonathan blocked their monopoly of fertilizer distribution and now supply straight to real farmers at a discounted prices. Farmers do not go through Ward chairmen, Party Excos, Politicians or any 'Timber and Caliber' to get Fertilizer. 7] They want Jonathan out by all means, he blocked their hoarding of petroleum product and stopped Nigerians from sleeping at filling stations and many roasted alive in any event of fire outbreak in filling stations. Their black market business has been destroyed by Jonathan's proper management of the supply of these Products and because of this, they ruled that he has failed. Jonathan did not fail Honest Nigerians, but he failed the Oil Profiteers and thieves. 8] Jonathan's re-introduction of One-man-one-vote did not go down well with them. With Soldiers, Police, Secret Police, Civil Defense at Polling Units, Ballot box snatching and stuffing is now a thing of the past. They made you to believe that Jonathan has failed because Polling units are no more in people's seating room. You forget that the President Party won only in 1 of the 4 governorship election conducted when started his tenure in 2011. Imo - APGA, Anambra - APGA, Edo - APC, Osun - APC, Ekiti - PDP. This will NEVER happen during OBJ government. 9] They want Jonathan out of office because they are aware that the 2016 Census will correct the Population lies imposed on Nigerians over 60 years ago. They are MAD that Jonathan will use conduct electronic census, where only Human beings will be counted and zero chance of one person counted twice. THIS IS THE CHANGE YOU ARE HEARING. 10] They want Jonathan out of office by all means because, in 2016, Jonathan will stop the situation where a Child from Oyo state will be expected score 129Marks to enter Federal Govt Colleges (Unity schools), while another child from Kebbi is expected to score only 2 Marks to enter the same school. A young man from Osun state is expected to score 190 In Jamb to have opportunity of a University, while his friends from Sokoto is sure of admission, even if he scores zero. It is a SHAME that young people that Jonathan is fighting for and ensuring to bring a fair Nigeria for all of us, is now brainwashed, fed with lies and some of them are attacking the man that is fighting for them and their generations to come. USE YOUR HEAD AND THINK. 11] Nigeria grows its food now, trains are running, our Airports are of international standard, Our roads are safer and motorable, University funding doubled and more Build to admit more Jambites, Our street children in the North (Almajiri) are given opportunity to learn and live in comfortable school Hostels and eating good food, not left-overs, 13 local Motor assembling and Manufacturing company relocates to Nigeria, 9 Local and International Power companies building their power plants since last year to improve of electricity need. ONE WILL ASK, WHAT CHANGE ARE THESE PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT? Jonathan has shown Nigerians what real democracy supposed to be. He is not killing or jailing his opponents or those that insulted him in the Media cannot be seen as a weakness, but his respect to the law and life. He never sent anyone to prison for a mere allegation of corruption without prove. He allowed them fair and independent hearing by those charged with this responsibility. These shows his Meek spirit and understanding that he cannot build a better Nigeria alone and that we need every hands in deck to achieve a bigger, better, prosperous and peaceful Nigeria. God Bless Nigeria. Source: Facebook 2 Likes 2 Shares
