I have a similar issue like that of the op. A close family asked for loan to take his wife to hospital as she was going into labour and needs caesarean section for safe delivery. He promised to pay back within a month. On a good day I wouldnt have given much but considering the wife's situation I gave him something significant. Luckly for him the wife put to bed without cs. This is the eighth month, he has not paid back.

If this prophecy is true, then the messiah is currently in Jonathan's camp. Jonathan will be pressurized to leave office, on his way out he form an interim government headed by someone he trust. The only Easterner I see Jonathan will have a pact with is the current secretary of the federation, Pius Anyim. This will be possible by the help of the military who ofcourse are already in Jonathan's pocket.

Politics / Army Deploys New Russian Attack Helicopters Against Boko Haram by winegate: 2:43pm On Jan 20, 2015
The Nigerian Army has deployed NEW Russian Attack-Helicopters against Boko Haram terrorists in the latest push to contain the Jihadists that have overrun much of the Northeast of Nigeria.

The Nigerian Government was forced to turn to Russia for military equipment after the United States repeatedly refused to sell arms to Nigeria despite upfront payment.

The United States Government also placed Sealed Arms Embargo on the Nigerian Army and threatened other nations with serious economic sanctions should they supply arms to Nigeria.

The U.S. Govt also threatened other nations with Denial of Access to New York Global Financial Clearing House and Chicago Global Financial Clearing House should they sell arms to Nigeria. Those nations were also required to alert the U.S. Govt of any attempt by Nigeria to purchase arms.

Twice in 2014, the South African Government succumbed to U.S. pressure while citing frivolous excuses.

Nigeria's negotiation with China was aborted because of China's burdensome terms of payment, which a frustrated Nigeria official decried as "totally greedy."

For instance, China insisted that the arms supply to Nigeria be made exclusive for 25 years. The Nigerian Government refused those conditionalities due to its uncertainty because it is impossible to know the quality of weapons that China would supply Nigeria in ten or twenty or twenty-five years.

Also, China wanted Nigeria to open certain areas of the Nigerian economy to Chinese ownership, a demand which the Federal Government absolutely rejected. Nigeria could not turn to Iran because Iran is actively negotiating to end U.S.-engineered global embargo against Iran.

Since 1979 USA placed "a ring of embargo" around Iran which almost collapsed the Iranian economy.

President Obama eased Iran's sanction recently but as oil prices continues to fall Iran, whose economy relies heavily on oil, does not want to jeopardize its own economy by upsetting USA through discussion of or sale of arms to Nigeria.

Nigeria then turned to Russia and according to a contact "Russia was not as greedy as China and was quite happy to thumb its nose at the U.S. by selling arms to Nigeria."

Most of the bank-to-bank and central banks global banking transactions are cleared through Chicago, New York, London and Malaysia. London follows all of U.S. policies on banking security and embargo. But China, Russia and Iranian transactions go through Malaysia so Russia became Nigeria's last resort.

In another development, the Nigerian army removed General I Ibrahim as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division, Maiduguri.

Details of the GOC’s redeployment are forth-coming but his removal seemed timed to coincide with President Jonathan recent visit to Maiduguri and the resolve of the Presidency and the army to remove every impediment to degrading and ultimately winning the war against Boko Haram Jihadists.

General Ibrahim replaced Major-General Ahmadu Mohammed who was removed in 2014 after a mutiny by military officers deployed from the division to fight Boko Haram.

The military officers were outraged that some senior military commanders were stealing salaries and allowances meant for troops. Troops have also complained that the incompetence of many commanders led the troops into Boko Haram ambush that resulted in the death of their colleagues.

It is no longer a surprise that the Nigerian Military is filled with hundreds of Boko Haram sympathizers who support the terrorists with arms and information about troop movement.

Sympathizers of Boko Haram have been known to attack fellow soldiers, to burn tanks and military vehicles and sometimes, to surrender their positions to Boko Haram without a fight and this support of Boko Haram has been confirmed to be based on cultural, religious, monetary reasons.

OP, please kindly compare Nigeria's petrol pump price to OPEC members not US, and advise the President to do the needful.
Here in Kuwait fuel is cheaper than drinking water.

Politics / Re: Chad Army Vehicles Head For Cameroon To Fight Boko Haram by winegate: 8:26am On Jan 17, 2015
I have this conspiracy theory that France is involved. France stopped US from shipping weapons to Nigerian Government. Chad and Cameroon are reinforcing against Nigeria. They believe that with the acquisition of new sophisticated weaponry from Russia and co, Nigeria will be tempted to invade Cameroon to claim back Bakassi. The confiscated plane loaded with weapons in Kano but later released to France, there is more to it than meet the eye. Shine your eyes Nigeria Army.
