Crime / Four-year-old Boy Starves To Death Clinging To Mum’s Decomposing Body by Wingsexpress(m): 12:44am On Jul 07, 2017
A 24-year-old woman and her four-year-old boy have been found dead, with the late boy holding on to his dead mother.
[img][/img]
It turned out that the mother had died two weeks before, but the boy, said to be autistic, had held on to his mother for two weeks without eating or drinking, and consequently starved to death.

That was the coroner’s verdict on Congolese migrant, Esther Eketi-Mulo; and her young son, Chadrack.

Esther had reportedly died suddenly after suffering an epileptic fit at her council flat in Hackney, East London, last October. Her young son, Chadrack, who had autism, was mute and therefore unable to raise the alarm. He died of starvation two weeks later.

He was found clinging to his mother’s decomposing body after a family member raised the alarm.

This deeply disturbing case has raised serious questions about how on earth a child could have starved to death in Britain in 2017 without anyone noticing.

The staff at Chadrack’s school, Morningside Primary in Hackney, had visited the tower block where he lived with his mother to find out the cause of his absence, as Chadrack had been missing from school since the end of September 2016.

But they were unable to get a response via the downstairs intercom and, after two visits, eventually gave up.

Esther’s family also telephoned her, but despite being unable to get a response, did not think it meant anything serious.

Coroner Mary Hassell, who investigated the case, has now demanded a nationwide schools alert system to ensure pupil absences are properly investigated in a bid to prevent anything like this happening again.

But while various authorities discuss what lessons can be learnt from this tragic case, friends and family of Esther and Chadrack are racked by guilt and are still struggling to explain how on earth it could have happened.

Certainly, those who spoke to the Mail paint a very different picture to that of an isolated mother and son left to die alone in an East London tower block.

The close-knit Congolese community, says one of Esther’s friends, is struggling to understand how mother and son could have lain undiscovered for so long.

Esther reportedly adored her only child. His birth, at Queen Charlotte’s Hospital, Hammersmith, West London, in January 2012, was the culmination of all the hopes and dreams she’d had when she first came to the UK from Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo at the age of 16.

Her parents, who were already living in London, sent for Esther and her younger sister, believing that they would get a first-rate education and a safer life than would ever have been on offer to them in their native country, which has been torn apart by years of civil war.

Clearly, Esther shared the same hopes for her son, who was the result of her relationship with a London-based Congolese chef from whom she later separated and was rarely in contact.

Those who knew her say she devoted most of her time to Chadrack, who was mute and had severe special needs.

While Esther’s early years in London were spent in her family’s council flat in a tower block in Shoreditch, she moved to her own flat just two miles away on the Trelawney Estate in Hackney two years ago.

But while Esther’s sudden death from epilepsy was tragic enough, how was it possible that no one raised the alarm in time to save her helpless son?

Not long before her death, Esther had also separated from a long-term boyfriend. Had they still been together, he might also have been able to raise the alarm.

Meanwhile, upstairs in the tower block, neighbours were unaware of the horror unfolding in Esther’s flat.

Those who spoke to the Mail say that they saw and heard nothing to give them any cause for concern.

Distressingly, they didn’t recognise the smell of decomposition emanating from the flat after Esther’s death and put it down to cooking smells.

‘The police explained that she had a fit, banged her head and bled to death.

In the end, it was her uncle who came to find out why Esther wasn’t answering the phone. As soon as he stepped out of the lift, says the friend who spoke to the Mail, he knew from the smell that something was wrong and called the police, who made a forced entry.

According to the coroner’s findings, Chadrack had probably only been dead for a couple of days at most when he was found on October 20,2016.

The likelihood is that Chadrack lived alone in the family home for over a fortnight after his mother’s death,’ wrote Coroner Mary Hassell.

He was found a couple of days after his own death, with his arms around her body.

She was by then very decomposed.’

Speaking at her daughter’s funeral, Esther’s mother, Bebe, said: ‘You know how we loved you too much. The door was always open to you in our home.

I forgive the people who are trying to blame us without knowing the reality. We love you too much. Rest in peace.’

Celebrities / The Kardashians ‘mortified’ Over Rob’s Behavior As Blac Chyna Resurfaces Topless by Wingsexpress(m): 12:26am On Jul 07, 2017
The Kardashians motto may be “family first,” but Rob is testing his famous siblings’ limits.

Following Wednesday’s Instagram meltdown over Blac Chyna, a source close to the Kardashian-Jenner clan tells Yahoo Celebrity “the family is mortified over Rob’s behavior.”
[img][/img]
“They will always be on Rob’s side, but everyone is very disappointed,” the insider says of Kim, Khloé, Kourtney, Kendall, Kylie, and most importantly, momager Kris Jenner.

Continues the source, “Kris raised him to respect women. He’s better than this.”

During Rob’s social media firestorm, he posted three explicit, nude photos of Chyna that could be considered “revenge porn.” He also accused Chyna — with whom he shares a 9-month-old daughter, Dream — of drinking, doing drugs, and sleeping with multiple men.

Chyna is clearly unfazed as she has resurfaced on her new man’s Instagram account topless. Rarri True, who was included in Rob’s wrath yesterday, posted photos of him in bed with Chyna, who appears to be nakedHe shared the below photo as well:

A second source close to the Kardashians explains part of the family’s frustration with Rob is that his inability to control his emotions has now made him the “bad guy,” while Chyna is hardly innocent. Case in point, the photos above.

“She knows exactly how to push his buttons and send him over the edge,” says a friend of the family.

Publicly, the Kardashian-Jenners have all remained mum about Rob and Chyna’s war. But privately, both of our insiders agree that their main concern is Dream, who is essentially collateral damage in this mess.

“The person who will be most affected by this is Dream,” says our second source. “Chyna will be just fine.”

The first insider agrees, telling Yahoo Celebrity, “The girls care most about protecting Dream. She doesn’t need to read online someday that she was born out of ‘spite.’”

After Rob got kicked off Instagram for his inappropriate content, he took to Twitter to air more grievances against his ex.

“We had a beautiful baby girl that was the best thing that’s happened to me and soon as that baby was born Chyna was out,” he claimed. “Soon as kylie and tyga broke up Chyna was over the game. She had a baby out of spite and I’ll never view her the same.”

He continued, “I truly thought Chyna wanted to be a family and that’s why I was so loyal to her but I learned my lesson and everyone else was right.”

Rob has been quiet on social media today, even in the wake of Chyna’s new pics. It remains to be seen if he can keep that up.

Politics / Abdulsalami, IBB, Danjuma, Gusau Made Obasanjo President In 1999 — Bamaiyi by Wingsexpress(m): 4:36am On Apr 02, 2017
[img][/img]A former Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Ishaya Bamaiyi, has shed light on the strategy allegedly deployed by former generals to ensure the emergence of a former military Head of State, Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo, as the country’s president in 1999.[img][/img]

Bamaiyi’s new book, Vindication of a General, claimed that a former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd.), who was in power at the time; former military dictator, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida; ex-Minister of Defence, Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (retd.); and a former National Security Adviser, Gen. Aliyu Gusau, developed and executed the plan that helped Obasanjo to return to power as a civilian president in 1999.

The former army chief, who was detained for years during the Abdulsalami regime, attributed his travails to his opposition to Obasanjo’s candidacy and his support for the Alliance for Democracy’s presidential candidate in 1999, Chief Olu Falae.

He further revealed that the plot to return Obasanjo to power started shortly after Abdulsalami got into power. He alleged that Abdulsalami, on becoming the head of state, started holding secret meetings with Babangida and Gusau, on the future of the country.

He stated, “Unknown to me, Gen. (Abdulsalami) Abubakar had already committed himself to Generals Babangida, T.Y.Danjuma and Aliyu Gusau on General Obasanjo’s coming in to take over from him. A proposal I totally objected to, which I told Generals Abubakar, TY Danjuma and Aliyu Gusau in very clear terms. My stand did not go (down) well with the generals and General Abubakar started feeling unsafe.”

He stated, “He (Abdulsalami) was supported by some northern generals, who believed one of them would take over from Obasanjo after one term of four years. It was alleged that Obasanjo had promised Gen. Babangida that he would succeed him.”

To buttress his claim, the Bamaiyi said, “General Abubakar prepared and handed over his (handover) report to Gen. Obasanjo’s team, dated June 1998. This means that he prepared the report as soon as he was sworn in as the commander-in-chief in June 1998.”

Bamaiyi noted he insisted on Falae when he discovered that those who annulled June 12, 1993 election wanted to ‘arrange’ a president for the South-West.

“I decided to take Chief Olu Falae to Gen. Abubakar and only Abubakar and I discussed this issue. I do not regret that action because I was and I am convinced Falae would have done better as president of our great country. I am glad those behind Obasanjo knew (sic) better,” he said on page 120 of the book.

Bamaiyi said the entire plot was mooted by Babangida who was desperate to return to power. Bamaiyi stated, “This was not done because they liked Obasanjo, but because of the ambition of General Babangida to return as president after Obasanjo’s tenure.

“I believe that they saw Obasanjo as a political novice they would manipulate. They never thought they would meet a different Obasanjo from the one they had known in 1979.”

He added that Gusau and Danjuma put pressure on him to support Obasanjo, but he told them that Nigerians were tired of military rule.

“When I discovered that some people were pushing for a president from the South-West, I asked a friend, Dr. Frank Adejuwon, a minister in the Abacha cabinet, to contact Chief Falae and bring him to Abuja.

“I took Falae to Gen. Abubakar and told him that Falae was a very good candidate, if the presidency had to go to the South-West. I believe Gen. Abubakar briefed Obasanjo, which led to an unforgiving Obasanjo developing actual hatred as far as I am concerned.”

On page 125, however, Bamaiyi also revealed that his support for Falae was a last resort. He pointed out that narrowing the search for the next president to the South-West did not make sense to him.

He stated, “When Gen. Abukakar took over, he and I had a discussion about the military and how Nigerians hated it. We agreed we should make a clean break by ensuring the next president would be someone without a military background.

“I was later told that for some reasons, others involved wanted someone from the South-West, which did not make any sense to me. I stood for an open election for Nigerians to decide who ruled them.”

Meanwhile, a lawyer of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Dr. Tunji Abayomi, said the ex-president had assured him that he had no hand in an alleged coup attempt against Abacha.

Abayomi, who spoke to SUNDAY PUNCH in a telephone interview, noted that Obasanjo had said this after he challenged the former president privately.

The lawyer said, “In his room, it was only two of us and I confronted him. Then he told me that he didn’t know anything about it.”

NADECO paid lip service to Abiola’s release

Also in his book, the former army chief berated the National Democratic Coalition, saying its members only paid lip service to Abiola’s release.

Bamaiyi stated, “If they were sincere and actually supported him, they would have accompanied him to where he declared himself president. I am glad Abiola’s son, Kola, knew this and in the Ovation Magazine of July 12, 2003, he explained (that) the National Democratic Coalition piled pressure on his father to declare himself president, but would not rise to the occasion to defend him when it mattered.”

He said NADECO members advised Abiola not to accept conditions for his release.

Bamaiyi added that he and the then Chief of Air Staff, AVM Nsikak, broke the news of the death of a former military dictator, Gen. Sani Abacha, to Abiola.

“Abiola was brought to Aguda House, where we met him. After pleasantries, we informed Abiola of Abacha’s death. He was silent for some time, but stated praying for the repose of Abacha’s soul.

“Chief Abiola served us tea. He said he would like me to hold the Army for him when he took his mandate. He later wrote Gen. Abubakar about me and his intentions for me. Gen. Abubakar did not tell me about these letters until they surfaced at the Oputa panel,” he said.

Bamaiyi described Abiola’s death as a surprise, adding that he was healthy when he met him.

Abiola wrote me before his death

The former chief of army staff said after their meeting on June 29, 1998, Abiola wrote a letter to him.

Part of the letter read, “Having talked to you last Monday, I can now understand why the Army has remained stable, despite the volatile happenings triggered off by the late General Abacha’s attempt to do a Rawlings in our great nation.

“I hope and pray that you will be able to stay on top of the Army for at least the next four years, to continue your splendid professional career in the service of our fatherland.”

Crime / Man Collapses After Caning For Breaking Islamic Law In Indonesia by Wingsexpress(m): 5:47am On Feb 28, 2017

A 27-year-old Indonesian man collapsed while being publicly caned for standing with a woman who is not his wife in contravention of strict Islamic laws.

Herizal bin Yunus, who was one of eight people publicly punished on Monday for breaking the province's Islamic regulations, fainted after being caned eight times in front of a crowd in Aceh.

Officials carried him off stage after he collapsed during the punishment outside a mosque in the provincial capital Banda Aceh.

But after he was examined by a doctor, the officials were told he was in good health, and he was taken back up on stage to be flogged another 14 times.

Herizal had been sentenced to be caned a total of 22 times for breaking the Islamic laws that forbid people in Aceh from spending time with members of the opposite sex who are not their husband or wife.

Celebrities / Donald Trump Vows To Deal With North Korea by Wingsexpress(m): 10:06pm On Feb 14, 2017

President Donald Trump on Monday vowed to "deal with" North Korea, calling it "a big, big problem" without mentioning the ballistic missile it test-fired over the weekend or any planned American response.

The Pentagon was more pointed in its assessment of the problem. A spokesman said technical advancements in North Korea's ballistic missile programs, demonstrated in the latest test-launch from a mobile launcher, pose a "clear, grave threat" to U.S. security.

That assessment reflected concern as well as frustration among U.S. officials, who see North Korea pushing ahead, in defiance of U.N. Security Council resolutions, with development of missiles capable of striking U.S. territory with nuclear weapons.
"North Korea's unlawful weapons programs represent a clear, grave threat to our national security," a Pentagon spokesman, Navy Capt. Jeff Davis, said Monday.
"North Korea openly states that its ballistic missiles are intended to deliver nuclear weapons to strike cities in the United States, the Republic of Korea, and Japan."

Celebrities / Amber Rose Opens Up About Val Chmerkovskiy Breakup And Wiz Khalifa Relationship by Wingsexpress(m): 9:55pm On Feb 14, 2017

Sometimes Valentine’s Day isn’t the greatest. Just ask Amber Rose. The former Dancing With the Stars contestant took to Instagram on Monday to open up about her recent split from Val Chmerkovskiy, and she wasn’t too chipper about the whole thing.

“Please allow me to introduce my situation. I’m super sad and would like to let my supporters know what’s going on in my life,” she began. It wasn’t Chmerkovskiy who got top billing on her post, however. It was Wiz Khalifa. She and Wiz shared a kiss on the carpet at a pre-Grammy gala over the weekend, sparking rumors of a reconciliation. But it seems those rumors were just that.

In her post, Rose denied any romance between herself and her baby daddy. “Wiz and I are family and will be family for the rest of our lives for Sebastian. We’ve been through hell and back so a kiss on the lips for a photo and a night out of fun is not a big deal for either of us, we are in a great place but we are very much still divorced and not together,” she explained before moving on to the more recent ex, Chmerkovskiy. Yes — ex. She also confirmed their breakup.

“And to the Awesome person I got to spend the past 5 months with (Val) and I broke up due to our own personal reasons but we still care about each other tremendously and we love each other’s families even more,” she wrote. “So please understand that we are all human and we have feelings too. Nobody got dumped and nothing we do over here is malicious.” She added, “Its just how life works sometimes.” It’s hard to argue with that.
[img][/img]
Rose and Chmerkovskiy met on set when she was paired with his brother, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, to compete for the Mirrorball prize. She and Maks didn’t win, but she and Val struck up a romance and were spotted out around town numerous times over the past several months, often posting adorable snapshots of themselves midkiss on social media. As recently as three weeks ago, they were still very into each other, if this pic is any indication.

Since their breakup, the model has been spending time with her girlfriends, most notable Rob Kardashian’s baby mama, Blac Chyna. “We are always there for each other through thick and thin no matter what people say about us,” Rose gushed about her bestie. “We’re lovers, we’re fighters and we’re extremely strong women. Often misunderstood from the public but f*** it if there’s any person in the world that understands me it’s her.”
