Good morning landers,

I have followed sternly, concerns, queries, questions, assumptions, presumptions on the lag time for appointment extended to the student visa section lately.

I was moved to add this after the comment of Gaddafithe2nd, from whom i was able to infer admission for winter is still on. I wouldnt know if a lot of others awaiting AD for CAT A are also in a similar boat. ie winter

This was stated early in Nov 2019 on the german website
Can't say though if it has any form of connection with the recent development.

I would employ us all to be civil in our quest to get answers to our questions, queries, enquiries.

Like someone rightly stated it is within the jurisdiction of the consulate to grant or withhold visa to any person(s) they wish, nonetheless, I believe in all fairness and responsibility they (consulate) should provide some statement to the qualified Nigerian students willing to participate in the free tertiary education Germany claims to offer the world.

I am sure they would try as much as possible avoid the tenets of impartiality raising its head here. I have read in this post folks associating the recent development to our explosive population, in that regard and in my opinion I disagree, what of india?
Cameroon isnt up to us but they have the highest denied visa for entry into Germany on the continent.

I believe in all optimism that all this will normalise as we move into the new year.

I had my interview also in November, 12th to be precise and I was interviewed by a short fair complexion locked hair lady.
An igbo lady I presume. She made the interview too flexible, she asked me questions and constantly, engaged in chats with her colleagues in the next room.

When did you do your interview?

You write the English proficiency exam. It is not a letter
Do your research to find out which of the exams is required IELTS, TOEFL etc.
Be sure to note the band score required of you by your university before sitting for the exam.
So google ielts and toefl and read up.

Good day people,

Does any one have an idea when the ADs would start coming in for the remainder of the year?

October is gone already.

Good day nairalanders,
I am new to this most informative platform.
I have since updated myself thus far.
I have share in the excitement of those who commenced and completed successfully this journey to deutschland and I have also felt and expressed my sympathy to those who had a setback in form of rejection.
May the almighty bless our effort and aid the actualization of our aspirations.
I applied for a research fellow visa.
I have my contract letter, hosting agreement and invitation letter. I Intended to apply to a phd in Germany but got an offer at research institute in Germany, hence my application for a student visa cat A which covers same.
Initially I intended in applying for a work Visa since I will be employed at the institute while I work towards my phd but the appalling time lag for Ad (1year) warranted a change in application category with the approval of the institute ofcourse.
I applied for the student visa cat A in Sept 5, to be precise after reading through this thread , I realised I should have a calender view where am availed date and time preferable to me in respect to the my resumption date on my offer letter so I cancelled and re applied on the 27th of Sept. In an effort to fast track I wrote the student@diplo.de email attaching my hosting agreement letter, invitation letter and contract letter stating my inability to access the calender view on my application page for an appointment. I got a reply to that email on 8th of October. Please find the message below for your perusal

Dear Sir / Madam,

please send us your passport copy so we can look into your enquiry.

Sincerely yours,

Visa Section (AE)

Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany Lagos

15, Walter Carrington Crescent

Victoria Island, Lagos

Federal Republic of Nigeria

Tel.: +234-1-280 99 66

Fax: +49 30 1817 67232

I responded immediately with my passport. However, I am yet to get a feedback from the visa office with regards to an appointment date. My employer in germany seems disturbed about the delay in processing cause the initial resumption date on my letter stated October 1. But when I forwarded the email of the consulate stating appointment application has been successful please refrain from enquiry, exact appointment date would be sent 2-3months in advance. He chilled.
I want to ask if all is in order or I have to make additional efforts in any regards .
I must say I am fagged waiting.

Do I cancel and reapply again?
or
Do I wait patiently?.

I cant really tell if all is within wait period or it is taking too long.

I need to categorically request aid cause I haven't come across any research fellow transcript.

Please ideas, comments and queries are welcomed

God bless us all.

My sincere regards.
