superCleanworks: Maybe the generator sha. But not CO poisoning isn't only 3rd world problem. In the US, as I read few days ago, a truck driver was found dead and frozen in his truck, with the glasses all wound up, cos he slept while keeping a homemade candle burning to keep himself warm through the night. |

Drgreatone: Chint has DC breakers. If you can't trust our Alaba guys here to provide you good Chint product and time isn't really of essence, you can source for it directly yourself on a place like AliExpress. It'll get to 9ja in 10 to 15 days. And you're sure of getting value for your buck rather than being given another chint wannabe like the Shneider |

Dam5reey: You no lie. Even that 24v that I just uploaded the picture has been lying fallow for months. I'm hoping that if I should eventually damn the consequences of voiding warranty and open it up, I'll just reconfigure it to 48v pack and slap a good BMS on it. I'll just ask the client that I originally got it for if I can keep it since she is doing great with my own pack that I gave her as stop gap. |

Amador1: Good. Congrats. Perhaps it's BMS that's the issue with the one I also got from him. I'd just find time to open it up and just address it.

icjunior: It's one 1HP. I didn't know the Gen mode indicator comes up anywhere. The manual explicity states that no LCD info on the remote indicates if the Gen mode is on and that some models also may not have it displayed on the indoor unit. I think I'll check again to verify what u said.

mctfopt: So I checked on them Monday and explained my situation. But it isn't all good news jàre. Cos of the relationship we've had for a while, they know that my appliances are on solar, so if I complain of a faulty item, they know that it's most likely a factory defect and not due to misuse or NEPA surge. They've replaced for me before FOC a 32 inch TV on warranty within 2 years. On the AC, they said they can't take it back cos it's been installed already. But they promised to help me get a buyer in no distant time. They said something however that caught my attention. That their AC sales (demands by customers) are mostly Hisense and that before they get to sell one unit LG, they've already cleared like 10 units Hisense ACs. zeestone99: OMG! 1.5hp, and it's doing 900w peak. And that my own ńa just 1hp and even though the room is well cooled, I go dey hot for inside as I see am dey chop 1000w from my much coveted battery storage. Aswear, I don seriously miss road on top this one. 3 Likes |

HeavenlyBang: The thermocool inverter freezer I referred to is actually 319L. Always loaded to the brim at night (beverages, water etc) when business is closed for the day. Your hisense 198L freezer power consumption is perfect at 110w. It will most likely drop further when items are frozen. There's a hisense 212L (non inverter) that peaks at 135w when items are freshly loaded in it. By the time it freezes over, I get as low as 68 watts (see attached picture) There is also a Thermocool 217L (regular condenser) but currently under repairs, that peaks at 168 watts with fresh items. It troughs at 98 watts when it's all frozen over.

Compliant: Sorry about that. There was apparently some dirty game played right there. So where the the surge protector disappear to? Even though I make much solar ground maintenance myself, but when the guys come around either to help install more panels on the roof or clean the panels during dusty seasons, I always hang around and if I can't, I have all these movable/portable makeshift WiFi cameras trained on the spot where they work and I'm able to either remotely monitor them or check the recordings whenever I'm less busy. Damn! Now you gotta start looking for a emergency 160k which was unnecessary in the first place. |
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Xanderone: 5:54pm On May 18 |
mctfopt: Thanks so much. I believe the consumption can drop as much as 650w sef, so long as the set temperature is reached. Right now at 5:56pm,it has dropped to 831 watts with the room temperature at 27 degrees. That's the thing with inverter tech. But I don't believe it's comparable to the reviews I got about the LG dual inverter and maybe the Thermocool Gen pal series, whose consumption can drop to as low as 400w after cooling is achieved. That 250watts extra alone makes much difference when you're running off of batteries at night. I mean, my Thermocool inverter freezer alone uses 200w at it works well overnight. The balance of 50watts can still power a TV for another 6 hours before you retire to bed. I assume the "Gen mode" is meant for the dual inverters or some other models close to it that has LVS (low voltage starter) and AVS (Automatic Voltage Switch) features in them, something which my model obviously lacks. I don't think this can be returned. My request was for LG INVERTER AC and that's what I was provided. I wasn't particular about DUAL cos I was even ignorant about a dual inverter version anyways. The merchant and I both have a nice relationship and I wouldn't wanna strain it by rubbing my own mistake on them. Although I may explore the possibility sha, but Shey I will tell them that I want to return what I bought ni? 😂. What of the pre-filled gas that has already been used? I feel if I can just do a garage sale to a willing buyer with about 60 to 80k off the original price. |
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Xanderone: 5:09pm On May 18 |
icjunior: So I tried the Gen mode on the remote. Result is disappointing. Apparently the Gen mode button isn't supposed to work on this model. It appears this remote is universal for some models of LG ACs, so it's not every button on it thar works. I simply pressed the button and watched out for any changes in the power consumption, but nothing worthy of note happened. I checked the manual and it seems everything that has to do with "energy saving" is optional for this unit that I got, except maybe the fact that the "inverter" model it is makes it to ramp up slowly. So the jet mode ramps up to 1010w, cools the room from 31 degrees to 28 degrees in about 30 minutes and the the jet mode deactivates. By then, the consumption had dropped to 957 watts. It's s currently down to 944w as I'm typing. This has got to be my saddest gadget purchase in a very long time. The only thought filling my head right now is how many premium solar panels I could have secured with the almost 500k price tag on this useless AC purchase, and my spirit will be happy with me that my power generation increase is guaranteed for another 10 years. Really mad at myself. At 5:28pm, consumption now down to 847 watts 1 Like

jonescosmos: Damn! So now I know that I've really fv_cked up. The only thing I can do now is probably sell that one to get the right one. Cos it's only less than a week ago that I got it. I don't think rushing to get another 470k worth of an AC is for me financially reasonable at the moment. If I have 470k to spare right now, it will definitely be routed to further upgrade of my solar system rather than some overwhelming urge to get cooled inside the room. And to even think that people have generally been a little more financially down to say they have some cash lying around to quickly buy a used AC, of all things. I'm so pained. I've taken a screenshot of your comment. I must not make that stupeeed error again. |

swagifted: The car is manufactured for Toyota America. Funny thing is that the battery inside this stuff is Lithium Iron, likely supplied by Panasonic. Europe and North America have traditionally stuck with Li-ion in their BEVs while Asia (especially China) have moved on to LifePo4. Tesla has also moved most of its BEVs to the LifePO4 platform but retains the Li-ion platform for the performance lines of Tesla BEVs (eg the Tesla roadster). China has done extended R& on LFP to the extent of BYD blade batteries being touted as not inflammable if punctured. Having said that, the way Tinubu is going with his policies, I fear he may be fully keying into the WEF's agenda of You Will Own Nothing And You Will be Happy, viz: ° Stifle the citizen financially and later initiate the Universal Basic Income (UBI) in which everyone is paid just an equal stipend to stay alive. ° PMS out of reach will encourage switch to BEVs. Then you can begin to pay for monthly subscriptions to use certain essential features in your BEV ° Paper money getting out of reach, hence forcing citizens to switch to CBDCs, (E-naira) in Nigeria's case and then the government gets to monitor your every transaction and can decide to freeze your money if you're found to be too outspoken against the government, similar to what Justin Trudeau did to the Canadian truck drivers' protest of 2022. Recall that both Justin Trudeau and Emmanuel Macron are known WEF protegees. ° Bank recapitalisation which can cause bank runs, make some banks go under or acquired by stronger ones, hence our banks reduce in number and you're left with fewer choices of banks to transact with. The CBN is already trying to make moves for banks to recapitalize. ° Nigeria govt is making moves to introduce GM seeds to our farmers. These seeds are not researched by Nigerian research institutes but by foreigners. These seeds will completely replace the natural seeds we've been used to, and as a farmer you can't harvest the seeds with the aim of replanting it the next planting season cos it has been engineered not to have cotyledon or radicle which are required for seed germination. So you're left with yearly/seasonal seed purchase/subscription from the suppliers. There is a Hollywood movie (can't recall the name at the moment) that has subliminally passed this message. I hope Tinubu won't offer bugs or 3d printed foods for us to eat same way bugs (which are termed protein based meal) are being fed to some public school students in Australia. I hope African leaders will just leave these Òyìnbó guys alone and let them face their business of self destruction, and leave us alone in Africa to develop ourselves in a trajectory that we can manage. So much conspiracy theories, you'd assume. But I oftentimes prefer to call "conspiracy theorists" critical thinkers cos a lot of "conspiracy theories" of yesteryears have turned out to be true. 2 Likes |

Also this is all I read in the manual about the Gen mode. So it doesn't seem tk be something remotely connected with energy saving mode to me. It looks like something to do with drop in voltage associated with generator when many loads are placed on it. So since I don't use Gen, but solar, I haven't even tried working with that "Gen mode" button yet As in I haven't pressed that button at all. I have a tuya energy monitor/switch inline with the AC, so I'm able to monitor its consumption in-app.

HeavenlyBang: Is LG dual inverter different from LG smart inverter? I got the latter and it seems that the consumption only drops to around 850w after working for about 5 hours after the room temp has reached like 25 degrees. The setpoint on the remote is the lowest (16 degrees). The ramp up consumption when it starts is around 1015w I also read in the manual that some model has "energy saving" mode, but it seems I can't find that option in this model of mine. I hope I havent gotten the wrong model for use on solar set up. 1 Like |

Good evening everyone. I came across this multi-split AC by LG in a foreign online advert. Has anyone come across it in Nigeria? Do you use it or know anyone who does? If so, how is the performance and the power consumption like considering that the external unit will likely be bigger. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7k-I9x08V0?si=HpfCRn-lI5kbJFEK 1 Like

Honestly, the back & forth logistics is frustrating, the money for it, for which I didn't even charge the owner of the battery, plus the stress to haul that heavy pack (back & forth). It's in a metal box. My solace is in d fact dat d stack I gave to her as stop gap is working so well she has no single complain. I suspect she may be unwilling to let go off of it if and when her own pack is restored. Now I'm beginning to wonder if it isn't Li-ion that is in that stuff cos the metal box looks like the picture of the one op uploaded. One thing that stands out is that every other pack I'd gotten from him are in plastic case, but only this one was packed in metal case. I'd have opened it a long time ago, but no time, plus I didn't wanna do anything that'll void his warranty on it. But d way I'm looking at it at the corner where I kept it, I might be tempted to unsheathe the screwdriver one of these days. durodee: |

JustCryptos: I also had issue with one of the packs I helped someone to buy from him. 24v 102ah pack married to 4 pcs 350w monocrystalline via powerMr MPPT CC. It went bad before one year warranty ran out and I immediately notified him to which he was positively disposed to me sending it back for checks. But cos it happened during the peak of the sunny season, the problem only comes up when the sun is down and the battery runs down within 2 hrs on just 213L deep freezer which is the only appliance person uses it for. And since there was no immediate alternative to keep her freezer working while the pack is sent for repairs, she still hung on to it and kept managing it like that. Then came the rainy season the following year, which was already going to two years after purchase, she couldn't manage it anymore. So I had to remove one of my stacks of 24v 50ah lithium stacks and gave her to use pending the time it's sent for repairs. I have 4 stacks of the Lithium (self assembled) which I use so I'm down to 3 stacks at the moment. September 2023, I called. He said he wasn't on ground in Jos but that he has his technical person on ground there and gave the details of the recipient. I spent 19k to send it to Jos using speedaf express so as to ensure careful handling. After three days, technician called that he'd repaired it and I spent another 11k5 to bring it back, also via speedaf cos I specifically demanded for that method. After I received it, I was busy for about 1 week so couldn't even check what he did. The second week upon testing it, I was shocked to discover that ńa still exactly the same problem. As if the guy didn't open it up (although the warranty seal was broken sha which suggested it was opened). But walahi, na like say dude just kept it for 3 days and then called me that he'd repaired it without opening it up. Dejectedly, I just packed it in one corner and hadn't bothered so much since the woman that owned it is doing well without complaints with the stack I gave her from mine. I chatted the Jos guy (not the technician o) up and he indeed expressed concern that the issue persisted and suggested we do the diagnosis together via video chat. But aswear, I never get time to do that since that time. To even carry the battery alone, cos it's heavy, ńa headache for me. So trying to hook it up to any set up for diagnostics is already worrisome for me. Please note: This is the only battery that had problem out of the many I bought and referred to him. In total over the past three years, I gave him four referrals and I bought two for personal use from him. It's only that one that had problem. So he scored at least 84% assessment from me. 2 Likes |

CRV has his own Godfather - Olabode George. D'you remember that he was a convicted sleaze who returned from prison to do thanksgiving for being freed from prison? Well that is who will become the new godfather of Lagos. People calling for the sack of Sanwó because he is Tinubu's "handbag" are only trying to hand power over to Bode George's "handbag". This further confirms the saying that those outside of government are only complaining because they have not been able to loot the treasury, for they will do worse when given the keys to the treasury.
