Health / Re: Furore Over Doctor Of Pharmacy Degree In Nigerian Universities. by xlad21(m): 6:31am On Jun 29, 2014
Black Swan:
Honestly, the way many Nigerians are obsessed with titles beggars belief.
nobody is really interested in titles. There's no glory in being called a Dr. Go and ask recent medical graduates, 80% of them wish they studied accounting or economics or engineering in school. That being said....many people on this trend are talking out of a position of ignorance, to be fair to them, the article didn't do the topic justice. Bpharm and PharmD are 2 totally different degrees. There's a reason only one school currently offers it in nigeria. PharmD holders are meant for hospital and hospital work alone, while there are several other aspects of pharmacy care including production, research, chemistry and even sourcing that the general pharmacist is supposed to be doing, hence the need for Bpharm. Some schools abroad actually offer both degrees separately. Personally I don't think Nigeria has reached the level of medical care to be affording these degrees, the PharmD program is very restrictive, our medical doctors can barely get decent jobs in hospitals, and now you wanna restrict pharmacists to hospitals too. The Bpharm degree offers so much more flexibility, that allows the pharmacist to be able to do other things if he can't get a look in at the hospitals. I think any school that has the intention and capability to offer PharmD should do so, let's not turn this into another stupid pharmacist vs dr argument.

Politics / Re: GEJ- Nissan To Build Cars In Nigeria by xlad21(m): 5:09am On Dec 07, 2013
I don't just get Nigerians.

Yes, GEJ is not the greatest president in the world, but I can't think of any recent president who has pro-actively sought to make Nigeria a better place. He is the first president who has appointed professionals to head his ministries instead of politicians. From NOI in finance, to Aganga in trade and Adesina in Agric. This dude has been in office for barely 2 years damn it! This is despite the distractions of BOKO HARAM in the North to destabilise the Govt.

Nigeria can only get better I believe, you guys should they and look beyond your nose sometimes.

As per Nissan coming to Nigeria....I Ve often wondered why some of the heavy manufacturing companies are not in Nigeria yet. Power is not the only factor of production, yes they may have to spend a lot on power, but they will more than save in labour and exportation costs to Africa. They will also invariably have a more favourable regulatory environment. But then the concern is always corruption, and the number of public officials that will want a cut before removing botttleknecks for them.

We will see how that goes.

Travel / Re: Relocating To Abuja From Lagos by xlad21(m): 7:48pm On Nov 12, 2013
That abuja is expensive is really a myth. I jumped at the opportunity to move from lagos to abuja. Abuja is way cheaper than lagos, contrary to what people think. Here are my reasons.

Scenarios 1: you stay close to town, you pay house rent of around 800k for a room and parlour. That's equivalent to paying for a room and parlour in ikoyi or vi....and that will come at almost a similar cost.

Scenario 2: you stay outside town, say kunwa or Kari you pay say 300k for an apartment. That's the same rate you will get for say isolo. Buy while the trip from kubwa or karu to town is just 30mins, trip from isolo to vi can reach 3 hrs on a good working day. Lemme not even go into the stress of it.

The only issue with abuja is the rent, once you sort rent, everything is cheap. You can basically go from one point in town to the other for just 300 bucks taxi. Taxi in lag will charge you 1k just to go from one end of the road to the other.

I fill my fuel tank, and it lasts me for 2 weeks, I don't fix my car that often and I don't change my tyres cos the roads are good. In lag I used to fill up 2ice a week and change tyres every 2 months.

Garki and wise market sell the cheapest foodstuffs you will ever get, if you dare go to the outskirts self it is way cheaper.

There are no lastma officials on the road, you can chance a police man, life is generally good. The markets are fenced, streets are clean, rented houses come with constant power, water and water heaters, all which you will not get in lagos. In Lagos, from lastma to police people, everybody is trying to cheat you.

Honestly, even the comfort and reduced stress level and ease of operations in abuja makes the move worth it.

And like someone said, there are opportunities, plenty opportunities in abuja. Especially if you have a suit and a suitcase, you can strike gold anytime.

So my advice to you brother, Abuja awaits you. You won't regret it. Nobody that has ever made the move regretted.

Anytime I get to lagos nowadays, I usually wonder how the hell I survived here for so long.

Its just amazing how shallow and tribalistic Nigerians are. Someone rapes your 10 year old daughter, you go to police to report and people are shouting that you are immature and should have handled it behind closed doors.

Who is the aggressor and who is the aggessee?
Have we even tried to understand the context of the feud? If WC indeed stole DJ's track like has almost been proven by DJ releasing an earlier version, then its totally up to DJ to address it how he deems fit. Whether privately or on twitter.

This is even coming to the fore cos DJ was involved, all these our talentless artistes making raves, only God knows the number of tracks they steal from talented upcoming artistes that come to them for assistance. The issues with Gobe, Skelewu, etc should be good pointers.

So enuff said.

Just bought mine in february, I took it from the container, drove it to Abuja and I ve been using it for 4 months now and never been to a mech. Its a good/nice car, but it always ultimately depends on who you buy from or the health of the one you buy. I handpicked mine in US, before it was shipped down, just above 40k mileage.....you just gotta be careful and hope you are lucky. Fuel consumption wise, it aint as efficient as camry (I used camry just before this, 2001 camry). But its a good car, no question.

@ environer,

Dont mind the idots, they keep seating on their asses waiting for what the oil wealth from south-south(not south east, fools should note), would bring to them. no productivity, no intelligence, barren land, no motivation whatsoever to do anything meaningful with their lives, yet they seat up and dis those that have worked hard personally and individually without any form of support to succeed in their chosen fields. it is really ridiculous, i keep telling people, no matter how we manage it, the North and the South in this country are like oil and water, and MARK MY WORDS, THEY CAN NEVER MIX!, no need being an optimist or a nationalist here, that is the fact. so we either just manage the fragile situation, or kwukwuma split up, each man on his own.

@poster, yea, i equally observed that, and the answers were equally apparent as well, and that is the normal tune for anything in Nigeria, i went to a Fedral Government specially sponsored secondary school that was touted as "one of the best" in africa, and so it was until when i was in JS3. initially enterance to the school was totally on merit, but as at the time i was in JS3, there were less than 10 northerners in the whole school of population around 300. guess what? they introduced their usual quota system, first they forced theu a man that knew absolutely nothing about education in the name of a norhterner, then they started the quota system of each state send 4 people to represent you in the school every year, if you see how te school is now in terms of academics and infrastructure, you'd rather send your kids to bangladesh to study.
we sacrifice excellence in the name of quota or federal character, but truth be told, if there was no quota system or fedral character, NOBODY from the north will be qualified to do anything in this country.
so southerners, we just have to manage them, that is the burden Gos has given us.
Career / Re: Globacom Staff Resignation Mail by xlad21(m): 12:08pm On Sep 21, 2010
its really a sad situation, i can quite categorically tell you that most glo staff don't actually have a glo appointment letter, i wonder the scam behind that one, and upon all the purported money they are supposed to be getting, they are one of the saddest people in Nigeria's corporate environments. it is really terrible. i know it is a private biz, but i wonder why Mike wont refine his processes, this is not gonna take the company very far. i house built on very weak foundations is bound to fall, and very soon he may have difficulty attracting the best talents for his companies

i would have clarified you more on this but your way of response is too foolish for me to do that. May be you belong to the group of touts who find it difficult to polish their statements when issues are being discussed. so i throw your response into the waste bin until you get your languages polish. My threads are not open to touts.

you are a big fool alexleo, let them place 2 of us besides each other and know who is the tout. you cant even get your english correctly, bad grammer, poor diction. if you are looking for attention, go find somewhere to get a good Mouth Action and stop displaying your ignorance to the whole forum. i ve come accross some catholics on this issue of born again and they ve always told me that no one can live a holy life on earth so born again doesnt take place on earth until one dies and that person is prayed for. After that prayer, the person's sin will be forgiven and his soul received in heaven

@poster Alexleo, you are just an ignorant, lying infidel. i dare you produce a catholic that tells you that he doesnt belive in being born again and is just waiting to die so that he can be prayed for to go to heaven. some of you dont even think with your heads again
Religion / Re: What Is The Difference Between General Overseers And The Pope? by xlad21(m): 4:36pm On Aug 03, 2010
half information they say is worse than non, the originator of this post, belabella was just looking for attention and knows absolutely nothing about history nor the church. y'all should stop wasting your time with him

about all of you calling catholic church peganism, worshiping mary, doing whatever you think they are doing. honestly, i have over grown arguing with you guys, all na for your pocket, the race is long, at the end all of us will see who really makes this heaven, and which route he took. name calling, open hatred and blasphemous slandering of the catholic church doesnt earn you extra points, hell no.

yea yea, i hear you, the protestants have stopped all the supposedly bad things the catholics do, but they have just refused to stop the collecting of tithes in their churches, y'all might want to check out how the issue of tithe was instituted in the 1st place and what it really stood for, because am sure before you ve even had time to think you'd start reeling off bible verses that supported paying of tithe.

about the words pope and bishop not being in the bible, seriously? how stupid can some people be?

Nairaland / General / Re: What Are Your Views On Homosexuality? by xlad21(m): 5:24pm On Nov 05, 2009
eya, yeyeruzzi. i never talk without facts, there is and has never been any such bill in Nigeria, the bill in place is an attempt to criminalise homosexuality, which has been stalled tongue. ofcourse rape is pervassion, but then we are not equating same sex to rape. poor fellow, you dont have to be alive till 500 to attend ur gay neighbours wedding ceremony, am sure god wouldnt want to keep ur suffering that long.

@tensor, biologically, am not sure it is possible to have sex with ur hands either. besides, try and google the meaning of sex, you wont see anything like dick entering the vagina there cool, so dont digress. about parents, their kids and gays? hello, SSAD, doesnt equate to paedophilia. they are ways off mark.

poor alpha males, if it'd make you feel worse, currently, gay men get more sex on average per day than straight men, in nigeria for that matter with all the hostility. grin

yea exactly, anything you can derive sexual pleasure from is a sex organ, wether it seems perverse or not, but as i'd always say, stay on point, we are talking about humans, not only humans, adults, not only are they adults but 2 consenting ones. how many times do i have to kill theis cow to be called ogbu efi? angry
Nairaland / General / Re: What Are Your Views On Homosexuality? by xlad21(m): 4:03pm On Nov 05, 2009
@yeruzzi
yea, it actually started when i was 21, cry. and the X signified that i was moving on grin, i go kill myself.

But then there you go again, RAPE, PERVERSION etc, arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
can you for once stay on point? you are back merging 2 things that dont belong together, nawa for you ooh, i don tire sef.

wether you like it or not yeyeruzzi, the anus is a sexual organ, so is the mouth, the hands, the thighs, dildos, cucumbers for any that fancies those.

yea quite alright, laws are made by a few people that feel an issue is a norm, but in this case, people dont feel it is a norm, yet, but slowly and surely, the hidden identity is being uncoverd, that's why i promised you that you'd see it in your life time.
Nairaland / General / Re: What Are Your Views On Homosexuality? by xlad21(m): 2:20pm On Nov 05, 2009
@yeyeruzi(by the way why did you choose to start ur name with yeye?)

when making arguements try to sound objective and logical. a lil hint (though am sure you wont take it), when i see/hear an issue(even in exams), i settle down and say ok, what is this all abt, if there is gonna be a correct arguement, how do i attack this. men, you gotta do better than trying to use incest, esp oedipus complex to quantify this.

come on men, in some countries, 1st cousins are allowed to marry themselves, while that amounts to incest in some other countries. i bet you, most guys lost their virginity to their immediate relatives(cousons especially), am sure maybe you did too(trust me i did, and to sooth ur inquisitive mind, for both guy and girl grin), but u'd brand it incest in this our open forum.

Am not advocating for screwing ur close relative, but any day a daughter wakes up and thinks his dad is the love of his life, and the dad feels the same, and they go on and screw, for the love of jove, let them be.(really that sounds disgusting lipsrsealed, but in my usual open mind, wetin concern agberu with overload)

Judgement they say is the Lord's, why do you people like passing it on earth.
Nairaland / General / Re: What Are Your Views On Homosexuality? by xlad21(m): 12:40pm On Nov 05, 2009
@chuks84
that you like 2 women going at it doesnt make you unstable, it is only natural, guys like that, even females like watching females go at it, straight females i mean. the only class of people that like watching guys in a porn movie(even if it is a male-female) sex movie, are gay men, during the movie, they'd judt be checking out only the guys.

having said that, your condemnation of gay people as diseased and mentally unstable is very unfair. if you can(though am sure you cant) try to meet some gay people, those that are not sissies maybe,(but then they'd never let you know they are), they are great, religious, working class, decent people living around you. nuffing much to it.
Nairaland / General / Re: What Are Your Views On Homosexuality? by xlad21(m): 12:31pm On Nov 05, 2009
@yeyeruzzi, tensor, ccollins and any other haters.
time my brothers, just time. many never forsaw blacks having equal rights as whites, not to talk of 1 living in white house. in fact so many things are acceptable now, that were abominations in the past, twin birth etc.
it may not be soon, but i'd make you all a promise, once you are all below 50, you'd see it in ur lifetime, gays having equal rights as straights in NAIJA, cos its already happening in some countries.

I hope that'd really piss you off. grin

you ve not removed the logs in your own eyes, you are removing the specks in that of others.
Just pray you all that ur kids are not homos, cos all the beating in the world wont take that away from him.
Nairaland / General / Re: What Are Your Views On Homosexuality? by xlad21(m): 9:36am On Nov 04, 2009
straight vs homos, i bet if they should line all of you up, one would not in anyway be able to find out, who is straight and who is not. testing for prostate cancer thru the anus doesnt give any basis or justification for anal sex, the Gspot arguement makes absolutely no sense. homos engage in anal sex, cos that is what they want to do, that is what they enjoy, and that is between 2 adult consenting people, not an adult and a nonconsenting non adult, or object or other animal.

i retain my stance, you can cry all you want, shout all you want, hit your head on the wall if it so pleases you, but a lot of guys are taking their fellow guys to bed tonight, many even around you, in ur street, possibly your compound.

so save ur self some energy.
Sports / Re: Fortune Chukwudi (Under-17 Captain) Is At Least 25 Years Old by xlad21(m): 9:57am On Nov 03, 2009
if you play football, especially if you played at a young age, you would kjnow that any 17 year old you lay off a ball to outside the 18 yard box to shoot, would rather cut in and try to come closer. look at that Nigerian team, all the players shoot from every range of the field even from half field, non of them scared. nobody in that team is less than 25. period. okoro my ass, that guy and obafemi martins are the same age, 32.
Nairaland / General / Re: What Are Your Views On Homosexuality? by xlad21(m): 9:35am On Nov 03, 2009
@shawn, you might want to take note, homos dont really care about you, not to talk of if you are allergic to them or not. you should also note that gay is not taken as offensive anymore by homos, gays, homos, gays, queer, the more the merrier, nobody really cares tongue. dont think by rattling out some homophobic sentiments it'd make you score any additional points, sorry brother. most homos are more of a man than you would ever become. it's not every sissy that is a homo, not every homo is a sissy. and who the hell gives you the right to decide what is natural and what is not?

if you start a bitch war here, you are in for some deep shit!
Nairaland / General / Re: What Are Your Views On Homosexuality? by xlad21(m): 9:26am On Nov 03, 2009
Just like i said, this arguement has no basis, and is most futile. homophobes will never change, and homos have been there since biblical and non colonial times, and would still be there till end of time, and even homophobes cant stop them from doing what they do, wether openly or secretly.

Tensor, yeyeruzi, shawn, i'd advise you, dont argue with a homo, cos just like a woman, you'd never win them.
shawn you seem really very homophobic, it'd take you nowhere. the earlier you came to terms with it, the better for you.
Nairaland / General / Re: What Are Your Views On Homosexuality? by xlad21(m): 5:47pm On Nov 02, 2009
This is really a futile argument, those against can never agree with those for the motion. likewise, if you are not gay, you would never understand how it works. homosexuality usually goes beyond or even beneath anal sex, belive it or not, a high percentage of homos have never had anal sex, and some never actually intend to. it has a lot to do with the emotional side, you are just attracted to same sex, and nothing can stop it, no matter how you try. you can just seem to ignore it, or do what you dont actually find pleasing, but nothing would ever change ur feelings for the same sex. maybe it is a freak of nature, mind you for those that talk without research, a high percentage of animals, some not even mammals have very high homosexual tendencies, from butterflies, to dolphins to regular apes like us. on the argument of the anus being a sex organ, neither is the mouth, nor the hand, nor the thighs sometimes which usually come in very handy and most often while having sex. some will be quick to castigate and judge homos as being sinful, or the devil themselves but i'd rather say they should count themselves rather lucky, cos belive me, you dont know what it feels like to be classified as that just because of your preference, not as if you chose it, that was how it came with the packaging. it's like being ridiculed in the past for being a black man, am telling you, that's the truth. some may argue that if homo is ok, then why nt paedophilia? come on guys, paedophilia is with an unconsenting young person, sex with same sex of an unconsenting person is equally very wrong. nowadays i get very tired about arguing gay issues cos it really never leads no where. some are quick to say homsexuality comes from being molested as a kid, that is equally wrong, some people have been staright there whole life, or so it seems, never got molested, but later in life found out that really, this is not what they enjoy doing, trust me when i tell you that. by and large, nothing anybody can say would possibly stop the double edged opinion of people, homophobes will always hate homos, and homos will always exist and do their own thing.

if i may add to this debate, a car is a neccesity not a luxery. even students and non workers deserve to have cars, it makes things so much easier. and belive me, am not saying this cos am a marketer, and i deal with these kinda things in daily basis.

I work at etb, and we package easy autoloans. you can repay in as much as 36 monthly installments. but then we have some strict conditions, but you dont even need to have any prior account with us.

1st you must be working in either a bank, telecoms company or oil and gas.
2nd you must be confirmed at your place of work.

these are the very 1st steps before all other things can come into play.
if you are really interested, you can mail me on xlad21@yahoo.com.
good luck peeps

ETB's salary has now been reviewed, entry level are expexted to take home around that 3.7m PA and quite rightly, it is not tied to perfomance
so for those of us in etb, congrats, for those yet to or about to abeg hussle ooh, its really worth it.
to wola44, if you had 2:2 it will really be a hail mary pass before you are taken. but then i dont work in HR so who knows, you may be lucky.
the girls dont have problem if they have 2:2, just like any other bank, if you are very pretty, you can enter.

ok lemme attempt to answer all of you.
to olabelo: yes you must see dr mike adenuga before you are employed into glo, etb or conoil
to kjblow: current salary scale for entry level at ETB is 2M, 2.5 after confirmation in 6 months. that is after tax ooh
to monsho: the oceanic bank story is false, they waste the most time in the whole banking industry, i did their medical in january, 1 and 19 others that same day have not been called. ETB doesnt waste time again, those delays were in the past, there's new head of HR. dont even talk abt first inland
to enspirito: you dont even have to apply, just put your nose on the ground, the day of the test, go and crash it. belive me i crashed it, and started work 3 weeks after
to ctrume: i wasnt recruited ages ago, i started work May 2008, thats barely a month ago and yes, if you graduated with a 2:1 you had better be a lady, and a very attractive one for that matter.

I hope i have been able to satisfy as many people as possible
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Etb Now Highest Paying Bank With N4MILLION Entry Level(no Perfomance) by xlad21(m): 12:10pm On Jul 09, 2008
well all of you are wrong so stop spreading unfounded rumours.
1st there has not been any memo or report of any salary increase at ETB, not to talk of by what percentage, secondly about those saying ETB doesnt recruit, ETB has been about the only bank that has been recruiting entry level consistently, consecutively and concurrently for the past 3 months, they have been doing their test almost every saturday at their training school in apapa lagos, if you are not aware, ask your neighbour. and they have been consulting interviews too, infact now, it ll take you around 3 weeks from 1st test to get your offer letter if you are succesful.
so try get your facts right first, before you report.
belive me, i work at ETB. entry level for that matter
