Firstly, uber drivers are not restricted to any particular area. In the morning, most trips take them to the island. And in the evening, trips take them out of the island.

Secondly, the island isn't exonerated from bad roads. In fact, only Ikoyi has good roads, to me. Drive from Third roundabout to Elegushi and your car is already covered in dust, or driving through alpha beach road. A large number of roads in Lekki(where you supposedly live) are bad, especially the streets

It's good to demand for quality service, but adding a little bit of understanding would be gracious from you.

The rains are here. A car that is plying all roads in Lagos may not be neat everytime(both exterior and interior).

So just pity the driver and understand some times sir. Abeg grin

Understanding is everything

Concerning neatness, I think you should make decisions mostly on his interior, and not exterior. A good number of inner roads and streets are untarred. A driver cannot afford to visit a car wash after every trip. If his interior is neat, that should be fine.

And concerning speed, it's relative to anyone. I used to do a 100+ on request. But because some riders can be annoying, I will never pass 90. If you miss your meeting and give me zero star, it's fine

I judge neatness base on interior. Not exterior. Most of the Uber guys come from mainland and we all know most roads there are not good.

To maintain car no easy bros with this peanut we earn nowadays. I Changed 2 shocks of toyota Camry at 65k each, totalling 120k few months ago, The money I earned for 2 months. You won't blame drivers whose shocks are bad. Blame it on d fare. It is insanely too low to actually take good care of your car with this current fare. Me wey no dey reject trips to bad places. Now I don dey do am to keep my car healthy and to last long. Now I understood why them likes of ifyeez and co reject trips to bad areas. It doesn't pay to earn money and spend all your hard earned money on repairs. It's like someone is back to square one

You are a very sane person and I understand your plight. I have used Uber in The US and SA and they make a hell of money, evident in the better cars they use over there. Nigeria Uber drivers make nothing, but you have to realize that is not the passengers fault. Your union have to sort that out with the company.

At all the bolded: Too Much Information. Nobody really cares.

By the way, what do you mean by "Send me the bill"? Las Las... The ride fare is between 700-1500. Is that one bill? Why are you forming?

Oga for people like me, bill starts from 5k. For people like Gazzuzz, is nomally from 100k to 1 million.

Anything less than that, you simply ask... How much? Send it to me. You want to form Lekki too. Next time you want to talk, be stingy with details. Its your type that want to give testimony in church and be like;

"Praise the Lord brethren. You people know that before things got bad for me, I use to fly Aeroplane to work and then... I started using Danfo due to Hard times. But Last Month.... Bla bla blah.."

You have low self esteem and problems only you know. Did you read where I said she’s coming to visit? If she’s coming from somewhere close or going back to somewhere close, would I not jejely save my money and drop her.

I’m not responsible for your poverty.

I. must get an alert before your gf alights, too many stories on Taxify, i can't shout.

Shock absorbers, maintenance?
I tnought you guys just need to get to your destination. Once the car is neat (interior) , what else do you want?
If you know what drivers go through eh, you will understand.. Just advice and run along.. Talking about stars like it helps the low fares... Mtcheeeeeew..

I pray I never enter your Uber. Your customer skills are very poor I pity who gave you a car

I live in Lekki.

I am not an Uber partner neither am I am everyday rider as I drive, but I have never ever had any issues when it comes to riding on Taxify, as that is the only ehailing app I use. I sometimes even joke with the drivers when they ask me “should I start the trip?” I tell them no please take me free. Then they laugh and tell me how most people cause trouble if they don’t show them they’re starting the trip before starting it. (I wonder how much is the difference? #50naira? #100?)

Most times my girlfriend comes to see me, or request for Taxify from my place to where ever, and what she does when she gets to her choice of destination is she’ll just tell the driver please give me your account number or please send it to the number who requested for you he’s my boyfriend and will make your transfer. And no one has ever had any issues with her or be afraid that she’s not paying. Most times I tell her, “you get mind o”. Every single time they leave and call me and I just tell them to send me the bill plus account number.

I think most times the minute you enter any Taxify, the driver quickly “sizes” you and know if you can be trusted as a rider. And when they conclude that you can be, they feel more comfortable and relaxed.

But my major problems with Taxify cars is neatness, I don’t need anything extra. But don’t come to pick me up with your car being all dusty angry like your car has not seen water all week. I mean I might be going somewhere important and how do I pull up in that? Also I spent money dry cleaning my outfit. This takes out one star.(This is the biggest problem, please clean your cars)

Also some can be very dumb. Be smart when you have to be and be slow when you should be. Don’t be so slow all the time. Especially if I have somewhere important to be and I am a little late. (We all should understand this). Takes or keeps another one star.

How’s the maintenance on your vehicle? Are your legs making so much noise? Will your shock absorbers cause me waste pain when I alight from your car?

I'm really worried seeing a lot of not safe, not safe zones mentioned everywhere. Does it mean Nigeria is safer than SA? Let me just vacation in my Nigeria in peace. grin someone should tell me something abeg

No lol those places are the hood with a lot of foreigners without jobs. They hustle there. If you’re coming for vacation, you’ll be fine. A lot of people come to SA for vacation. But beware of the airport environment when you are leaving the airport and don’t stop for nothing.

I quite agree with you.
The issue is not with stamps at the POE.
The issue is the level of screening by officials.
My experience is that your country of departure and airline matters alot.

Maybe RwandaAir flyers might have a different experience, but I've hardly seen anyone who flew ARIK (when it was still operating th JHB - LOS route) have a good experience at the point of entry.

Thank you. And loud it for the people at the back. I’m not saying everyone gets returned using a different airline other than SAA. I’m generally talking about the POE experience!

I don't agree with your post. There is nothing wrong with Kenyan Airways. The only things that could be wrong is if the traveller does not have a valid document at the point of entry. I have used Kenya Airways from Nigeria and there was no issue for me at the point of entry.

I have flown rwandair and Kenyan airways. Having no issues but thoroughly screened. I have flown SAA and had zero issues. Was even asked to do “ewallet”.

Yup , I agree with you .. Fly with SA airways .. I’ve been to SA twice and I flew with there national carrier the two times . I didn’t encounter any problem nor questioning . In fact , they didn’t ask for my Yellow while they asked my mate who flew with air Rwanda . SAA is not too expensive , I’d advise you fly with them if you are a first time traveler .

Peace and good luck to everyone

it has been said here earlier. They give you a harder time if you don’t fly with their national carrier.

Clean your mouth. You’re the daft one that’s giving wrong advices and not even answering questions. You only have two friends. If your two friends were not returned. Does that mean a person is saying untrue facts? I have never been denied a visa before by any country. Does that mean by your logic everyone’s visa to any country gets approved. You take statistics before you say a fact.

Geenosko:

I am and have used different airlines including SAA (and as far back as Arik), the airline doesn't determine your treatment at poe. Its akin to saying that you get special treatment at Heathrow because you fly British Airways.

I stand by what I said earlier. PoE officials at OR Thambo don't discriminate based on the airline you use. If you are qualified for entry, you will be granted and not based on the airline you use.

I have two people in came into SA last week, both first timers. One Used SAA was given two weeks stay, the other used Air Namibia and was given 90 day stay. Going by your logic, the reverse should have been the case.

Any one who's coming to SA, if you can afford SAA fine (saves you time on transit) if you can't, use any airline that you can afford.

90 days stay on what Visa category? multiple or single entry? My logic does not tell you every single person flying to SA on a visit Visa will be returned if they use a different airline other than SAA. I have friends that used Rwand air for the first time and were. I also have friends that were not returned, came back again using SAA and were accepted. Don’t compare a passport with travel history to a virgin one on one month visit visa. It is only adviseable to you their national carrier as they mostly don’t bother at POE OR thambo or ask you tons of questions or verification. Also SAA is direct flight.

A British immigration officer and a South African immigration officer are not THE SAME so it cannot be saying the same thing.
