Personally I'll feel bad and remorseful if majority of Nigerian tribes perceives my tribe in a bad light, i cannot just wish it away as an act of ignorance or envy.
I often asked myself what is the injustice Igbos are experiencing which is only peculiar to them, or what are they seeing that other Nigerians are not seeing?
Most of their complaints to us are not peculiar to any tribes and also most of those who believes in the Nigerian project sees it as a burden that is common to multi ethno-linguistic society.

Crime / Fulani Herdsmen Raid Kogi Communities, 22 Dead, Many More Displaced by Xpaz: 6:38pm On Nov 11, 2015
Twenty two people have been reportedly killed in an early morning attack by an armed group alleged to be Fulani herdsmen on 9 different communities in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi.

The herdsmen who raided the communities were said to have carried out the attack in the early hours of Monday, November 9th, 2015, killing 22 and wounding several others, while hundreds are said to be missing.

Briefing the House of Representatives Press Corps yesterday at the National Assembly, representatives of concerned members of the affected communities, led by Barrister Usman Ibrahim and Silas Ahiaba, stated that the people of the affected communities were in distress, having been chased away from their ancestral lands, and that they require the urgent intervention of the state and federal governments.

Addressing the media, Barrister Ibrahim said: “We are all talking from the position of distress. As we speak, our fathers, grandfathers, parents and loved ones have been chased away from their ancestral homes where they have existed for over 200 years.

“At early hours of Monday, the communities were greeted with an invasion of heavily armed Fulani herdsmen who killed and maimed so many. As of today, 22 people have been confirmed dead, several others either injured or missing. Right now, we are refugees in our own land.”

Asked if there has been any response or intervention from the state government, the visibly emotional bureaucrat who is also a Committee Clerk in the National Assembly said the response from the state government has so far been skeletal with little or no effect.

“The state government has been fully briefed on this matter. But whether they have been able to make any inroad is still not certain because our people are still displaced. As at yesterday, a few policemen went to the places but no form of arrest has been made so far. There has not been any fruitful response from governments at any level. We want the Federal Government to intervene and return our families home in one piece. That’s the humble appeal we are making,” he said.

On whether there has been conflict of that nature between the herdsmen and farmers in the past, the aggrieved indigene answered in the affirmative, saying that there has been confrontations in the past but nothing murderous.

“This is a period when the farmers harvest their farm produce and what the herdsmen do is to come and feast on the harvest. So it has always been an issue between them. However, this time they came to kill and destroy lives and property,” he said.

The group also lamented the lack of response by federal and state legislators representing the affected communities which fall within the Igala speaking areas of Kogi state.

“On whether we have informed our lawmakers, yes we have tried to contact them but they have been unavailable. I have made efforts to reach out to the State Assembly members and even the Representative and the Senator here, but we are yet to establish contact with them concerning this situation,” Mr. Ibrahim said.

The affected communities are Agojeju, Ikpoba, Ojeh, Ajomojayi, Ajadaji, Idochi, Ojiyanawo, Ulaja and Oganenigu respectively.

All affected communities are in Dekin/Bassa Federal constituency which is currently being represented by Hon. Benjamin Ikani Okolo in the 8th House of Reps; while Senator Abdulrahman Abubakar represents Kogi East in the 8th Senate. However, no form of legislative effort has emerged from either of them since the ugly incident occurred on Monday.

Politics / Re: My Experience In Sotheast- My Project Tour To Southeast. by Xpaz: 9:23pm On Nov 06, 2015
OBAFEMIawolowo:
I was opprotuned to visit all southeast states on a project work sponsored by an international organization in the U.S. I had to visit several big hospitals in the region like UNTH, NAUTH, FMC owerri, ABSUTH, FMC abakaliki. The work has to do with the prevalence of PUD in southeast and it lasted for 10weeks. This is my first time of going to southeast and I was eager to know what ile Igbo looks like.

On getting to Niger bridge from Asaba airport, I met a 10lanes road in Onitsha which serve as gateway to southeast, the road was well marked and wide ( I was like "welcome to southeast"wink, then i was immediately taken to my hotel at fegge area of Onitsha (top rank hotel).

Onitsha
Onitsha is quite a formidable commercial city, but I can't live in onitsha. The city is tick, dusty and congested, most of their roads are dusty with no walkways. Onitsha has heavy buildings but tiny roads, aside the expressway, I don't think any other thing fascinated me about onitsha. I remember visiting on Chinese restaurant at awka road though. I can remember also visiting oguta road, modebe, zik road, port Harcourt road eetc onitsha needs a total overhaul but i won't deny seeing heavy buildings. I spent two weeks in onitsah then we moved to owerri.

Owerri
I lodged at rapour hotel along orlu road in owerri. Owerri is a very lively city but lot of abandoned projects scatter all over the city. I remember seeing two abandoned flyover projects and it doesn't seem it was abandoned recently. Nice houses, night live is also encouraging. I remember spending time with fine owerri girls, they have beautiful girls. I was disappointed in okoroacha, owerri roads are not well marked, most street lights are not working. But owerri is quite more inhabitable than onitsha. Spent two weeks in owerri then moved to aba.

Aba
Didn't really spent much time moving around here, roads are quite bad here but I saw some construction work going on. i remember our car falling into a big pothole ( I had to role my shirt to push it ooo). The city is also very noisy. I moved to Enugu after one week.

Enugu
I lodges ate fildema hotel at independence layout. Bros, make I no lie, this city get government presence ooo. Didn't really see heavy building like in owerri, aba and onitsha but the city is organized with well planned road networks, street lights and well marked roads. Didn't enjoy enugu well because water is a problem, I also noticed their soil is a strange stony red soil. Enugu is quite better than others. I spent two weeks here then moved to abakaliki.

Abakaliki
I even forget the hotel wet I lodge sef, but it was along Enugu road or so. Abakaliki is quite the least of all ot these cities but i remember still seeig wider roads than i saw in aba and onitsha. Abakaliki is quite laidbacked with similar soil like that of Enugu.

I moved to back to enugu to spend extra one week, visited several clubs and lounges in enugu. Fine residential buildings, I remember eating opa with coke along oguiyi road. Stella odua messed up in that Enugu airport ooo, chairs for there don dey soil finish, but well sha, i will love to visit Enugu and owerri again.

I enjoyed southeast ooo, please lets stop the tribal rivalry here and tolerate each other, I even caught some sweet igbo chicks in owerri and Enugu mmeaning, I will still have to go back there. As for me, Nigeria is the same, I felt at home in these places.

I don't mind settling down with omo ibo sha wink
I see lies.
What 0ngoing gov project did you see When you entered Abakaliki main Town?

You are wrong on this. I happen to be one of those who stand for one Nigeria and a full fledged Igbo defender as well. All Nigerians are generally not happy with the State of our Nation but disintegration will only give a false solution since we'll still remain same in our different units. Both my father and my grandfather fought for Biafra but today have a different view like myself. Biafra war was more or less a war of survival than war of secession.

Politics / Re: How Nigeria Must Deal With Biafra - Cramjones by Xpaz: 10:57am On Nov 04, 2015
cramjones:
I have keenly observed the current events that have led to the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, the self-proclaimed leader of the Biafran movement. I have mixed reactions to the events that have transpired and have communicated my thoughts to the Nigerian Presidency. I will attempt elucidating my thoughts here.

1. I am of the opinion that the call for Biafra is legitimate: Firstly, Biafra existed before Nigeria was created. It was made up of people with similar cultures and language (with majority tribe being Igbo). It is perfectly legitimate for the original inhabitants of the country to yearn to have back their country and resources under their control. However, I do not believe that Biafra is a viable solution at this time.

2. During the Biafran war it is estimated that at least 1 million people of largely Igbo extraction were killed! This is no doubt in mind a genocide. However, the Nigerian government has made a fundamental mistake by:

a. Not recognizing it ever took place, or playing down the number of those that died for political reasons, only serve to fuel violence and the call for secession.
b. They have also made a major mistake by not even having a memorial day to remember those that died during the genocide - This action alone will give a sense of belonging and would foster a deepened National unity.

3. If the government does not look into the creation of a true federation whilst implementing its pseudo-federalism, and pretend that a genocide never took place, then the dissolution of Nigeria or even the metastasis of the Biafrian movement becomes inevitable.

4. Despite the premise I have laid out, I still do not think a Biafran state is viable. This is why

i. The Eastern Goverments are fundamentally corrupt; A visit to present day Imo and Abia will attest to the corruption and rot that have plagued the region. These leaders have all FAILED to develop the east with the resources given to them. If they had made the East the "dubai" of Nigeria, everyone including the international community would have taken the cry for Biafra serious. The argument would be if the "Biafran leaders" can develop their region with the "little" resources given them, it is only fair they secede and do even more for their people and their region. However, this is not the case. A Biafran state will only lead to another mini civil war, and a fight for resources and wealth among Biafrans.

ii. Since 1970 when the war ended the geo-political dynamics of the Biafran region has changed. For example the people of Rivers would not want to be part of a country where their individual tribes become a minority. Same will go to Akwa Ibom etc. This will then lead to a disintegration of the original Biafran state, and would lead to a battle for resource control.

iii. If the above happens, Biafra would essentially be a landlocked country, and this can lead to an invasion and fight of Rivers, in order to fight for port control, oil revenue etc. Igbos will definitely need the ports since most of them are international business men, and won't afford to pay regions like Rivers for all the billions of dollars of imports that takes place in the region.

In summary, an eventual Biafran state through a peaceful referendum will lead to a situation worse than South Sundan.

Way forward:

1. President Buhari MUST as a matter of urgency look into the white paper of the national conference and work assidiously with congress to make sure he implements true Federalism.

2. We must as a matter of urgency accept that at least 1 million Igbos where killed and establish a day to remember these precious lives that were gone. We must go a step further to make sure we teach this history to our kids, and not ban it from being tought in schools.

3. If the Federal government treat the Biafra issue with kids gloves, we may have something worse than Boko Haram in our hands.

4. Release Nnamdi Kanu immediately! Sit down with him and lay out your plans to resolve this issue. It would be a disservice to the Igbo people to compare the rise of Boko Haram with this present agitation, but history has thought us that as dynamic and complex Nigeria is, we MUST as a matter of urgency address the agitation of the Biafrans, before it metastasize to a problem bigger than Nigeria. A stitch in time saves nine!

Personally, I have shared these thoughts to my friend and brother Femi Adeshina with the hope that he would communicate this to P.M.B.

It is my hope that this does not destroy our country in our very eyes.
All this Nonsense you wrote Here.
If we hv to fight for/over pH.
it will be 4 d sake of our Igbo Brothers that owns it.
