It depends on what you want to use the tab for.
Here are some of the benefits of the iPad over the Samsung:

1) If you are the graphics design and video editing type, iPad is sure the best option for you because it has the advanced apps like Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Designer and ProCreate for you to do your design work but Android lacks such advanced apps though ProCreate is working on an Android version after Samsung contacted them for it. When it will be ready is what no one knows.

2) The iPad uses the same processor with MacBooks (which is even too powerful for what the iPad can do) and the M1 processor is far more powerful than the Snapdragon 8 gen 1 in the Samsung.

3) The iPad is part of the Apple Ecosystem so if you have an iPhone and a MacBook, the integration of the devices will be seamless.

4) The iPad has a Thunderbolt 4 port which is faster than the USB 3.2 port on the Samsung which means you can transfer files at a faster rate from the iPad to other devices.

5) The iPad is also more power efficient and has better battery life than the Samsung.

6) The iPad's magic keyboard also feels more premium than the Samsung's keyboard and Logitech also supplies more premium variants for you to choose from.

7) The iPad has a 1tb version with 16gb ram while the Samsung maxes out at 512gb with 16gb ram.

Benefits of the Samsung tab over the iPad are:

1) The Samsung tab has a larger screen, slimmer bezels, and it's aspect ratio is far better for watching videos. The Screen is also an AMOLED display, though it doesn't get as bright as the iPad's screen, pictures and videos are more beautiful, crisp and contrasty on the Samsung.

2) The Samsung tab has better front facing camera for video calls though with a notch, the huge size of the screen makes the notch very unnoticeable. The placement of the camera on the Samsung tab also makes it better for video calls as people have complained about the placement of the front camera on the iPad as it makes the user look like he or she is not at the centre of the screen when make a video call.

3) The User Experience and multitasking on the Samsung is also better. The Samsung can show up to 3 tabs at a time and also a 4th one on top of the 3 tabs for better multitasking. When the keyboard is connected, the user experience is taken to a whole new level as the Samsung tab switches to DevX mode turning your tab into a Laptop. You can open tabs, resize them the way you want etc.

4) The Samsung now has one of the best drawing experience with very low latency. The feeling of drawing or writing on the Samsung tab is better than that of the iPad though this can be down to personal preference.

5) Both tabs are similarly priced depending on where you want to purchase the tabs but the Samsung tab comes with the drawing pen in the box unlike the iPad that requires you to purchase the pen separately.

6) The Samsung tab supports external SD Card/SSD of up to 1tb to expand its storage capacity while the iPad does not support external SSD.

Similarities between the tabs:
1) Both tabs support 120 Hz refresh rate.
2) For gaming, both tabs played PUBG, Call of Duty, and other high end games at full settings without lag.
3) The aspect ratio of the iPad's screen is similar to that of an A4 paper which makes document reading very good while the Samsung's screen tends to show more content at a time due to it's larger screen, its aspect ratio is 16:10 which makes the Samsung the better choice for watching videos.

The tab s8 ultra is a really good tablet. With cool feature like the samsung DeX and it has a bigger display. Due to it using android os, the apps are not well optimise for it and other android tablet and looks like and enlarge version of the app. It also comes with a snadragon 8 gen 1 processor.
While the ipad pro is using ipados, apps are well optimized for it. And some developer develope apps for ipads than for android tablet, like photo editing app: adobe photoshop (which look like the version in windows and mac and comes with the same features found on windows and mac), video editing app: lumafusion and drawing app: procreate. Games are also well optimize for it. It also comes with and m1 processor(which is the same processor used for the 2021 13 inches macbook pro and macbook air) and it is more powerful than a16 and a15 bionic used in the 14 pro and 13 pro which are more powerful than 8 gen 1.
If you use a samsung phone go for the tab s8 ultra. If u own an iphone use the ipad pro. They are both good
