So I would start the front end tomorrow by 2 when I wake up
Webmasters / Re: Free Logo For Your Websites by xterra2(m): 12:46pm On Jul 31, 2012
@OP thanks a lot
Not exactly what I 100% wanted but thanks,I'll use the first one for now
But I want the picture in a .png format
Like I mentioned earlier I would use the logo in some softwares so I'll want the .png format for the transparency
The one you did (digital scars)
Btw, which software did you use ?
Programming / Re: Creating An Open-source Java Web Service by xterra2(m): 12:43am On Jul 31, 2012
@OP um I downloaded website template zip , that's the template you want the front end to be right ?
So any front end would have what you have in that template right ?
If so, I could sketch the front end on a paper while I await my lappy that's if spikesC won't be done with it by then
Programming / Re: Creating An Open-source Java Web Service by xterra2(m): 9:44pm On Jul 30, 2012
err I would really like to do the front end but pc right now is in lagos, immediately I get it back I would do it, its not as if I have something better to do other than sleep till 2pm play fifa till 6:55 break fast and sleep.
Like I mentioned,if am delaying you seems like am you can just do something simple,in 15 mins maybe basic front end as soon as I get my pc I would fire up CS6 and make the front end
I feel bad and sad really really wished I had my pc at this m oment
Webmasters / Re: Free Logo For Your Websites by xterra2(m): 4:42pm On Jul 29, 2012
OP I counted you did less than 10 logos
Mine is Digital scars

Sorry but this is not for a website its a company logo which I would add to my website so its still a website logo, don't mind me

I want it to be small, the ones you posted earlier are biiiiig
It should be like the size of an icon
The concept I want is it should be like a scar and somehow digital

I hope you can help me thanks
Programming / Re: Creating An Open-source Java Web Service by xterra2(m): 4:20pm On Jul 29, 2012

Programming / Re: Creating An Open-source Java Web Service by xterra2(m): 4:12pm On Jul 29, 2012
Look what we have here a female programmer shocked shocked

I of course want to contribute, I would want to do the front end
And by front end you mean the html + css right ?
I would want to test my css3 knowledge
But for a reason,I won't be able to join this week, maybe by next week or so I would do the front end
Its going to look fine ,if next week is far and am gonna delay you or you want the front end quickly don't worry just do a rough one I would come and replace it

And btw,did you design the logo yourself ? The logo you posted ? If yes
Which software did you use ?
How did you learn to use the software ?

Go to control panel > programs and feautures >
By the sidebar you'll see add or remove windows component
And then deselect IIS

pc guru: Currently even as we are speaking i work with Nokia SDK Asha Phones, to be frank its a lot better than using PhoneGap, because not all phones have html5, and nothing like cross domain issues in J2ME. just go to developer.nokia.com create a profile there and steps to develop on Nokia would be given, also pls what does "NegativeArraySizeException" mean
The exception ? Go to google type in the name of the exception and click am feeling lucky,it would take you to oracle's website
But straightforward check your arrays it has to do with the size

WhyAWhy: take it from me, I know Objective-C, took about 1 month to fully master. I had already know Java and C# before then, Objective-C is not so straight forward not something you can pick in a week comfortably but we all differ sha. I developed an app for my masters project and have since abandoned it cos I don't have any apple hardware(school provided the one for masters). Getting back on the wheel but going more in the direction of Android cos of Java.
Oh okay
The project was about what if you don't mind me asking, and was it iOS or mac ?

oshoppy: I am working on a project that requires me to develop an app....please if we have developers in the house that can do this and get paid...please contact me and we can discuss buiz. nice thread.
Sure what's the project about ? Which language
Let me know first

Nawawo
You should have provided more info
Tell me a summary of the project and the language involved so I can know what am dealing with
Okay ?
Programming / Re: No Java Required: Write Android Apps In C# by xterra2(m): 12:48am On Jul 11, 2012
ikp4succes: i mean it should be possible to write android programs with C# becos java and C# looks a little bit familiar in syntax, but i dunno why Microsoft will allow someone to tamper with c# compiler or license to benefit Google , when its not a windows application or window mobile app, am sure you will have to do a lot of work. i have some questions to ask though?
Will this C# support Android XMl integration.
What about google api's.
how many resources will C# carry.
Is there a vast website that shows you how to use this new tool.
is there a virtual android where i can run my program for test.
yes there is a virtual android where you can test your apps
i have it installed on my system to test an android app i made
note that it is very sluggish, people hate it so i use a friend's phone to test it
you can get it by downloading the android sdk, configuring it for the version youre targeting and setting up the avd (android virtual device) and you can test your app smiley

raynold17 :
please I use an android phone and I don't understand what u guys are saying should I be worried or what. please translate to English.
You're and android user not a developer you shouldn't worry about it
Oya comot for this thread angry

Beaf: I'm really happy about the XobotOS library. It is left for the community to pick it up and run with it; personally, it is going to be of immense benefit to me.
I wonder if it will make some .NET GUI portable to the Android platform. .NET GUI tools tend to be much better than anything else out there.
I do agree .NET GUI tools are superiod to that of java
Chei, beaf so you're among the lazy devs who use GUI ?
We did a mysql + java project recently one guy was using code literraly setsize(400,400); e.t.c and I used GUI chei I think sey you be correct programmer so you be lazy programmer like me Nawawo
I have seen people using eclipse(no java GUI) for desktop applications :O somebody don kolo

Beaf:

You mean what would be the Worlds fate. Windows powers 95% of PC's, there is a Windows machine in every home.
Simply put, its not gonna happen.
Except th windows I have in my house is only for visual studio and sql server java, dreamweaver, even browsing all done on a mac
Windows is a crappy OS, windows is beyond rubbish, Mac is the way
I have visual stuido 2010 ultimate as a startup program go to the windows partition and boom visual studio is open, only for thay I can't use crappy windoze

ekt_bear: Java and C# are quite similar, from what I hear. And Java is pretty easy to pick up, if you are familiar with and C or C++ syntax language.

Does it translate your C# source into Java bytecode or something? If not, then you lose access to most of the existing Android libraries. Or have to wait for them to be rewritten.

Honestly, not sure how much of an impact this will have.

I find c# harder than java, I hate it angry
I don't why its harder but c# is hard angry angry
Sweet java is multi platform, my app ade in windows 7 with java, I copied the .jar file to mac worked, to ubuntu & fedora still worked love java
Anyway let me not turn this to a java vs c#
Programming / Re: I Want To Develop Mobile Applications by xterra2(m): 9:08pm On Jul 10, 2012

Good let me know how it goes
Please keep me informed
prodam: yahoo!!!

thank God, I have a hope as a .NET developer
Have hope, but somethings you can't do with c# you'll have to use java
Programming / Re: No Java Required: Write Android Apps In C# by xterra2(m): 6:25pm On Jul 10, 2012
Well I want users who want to write android app to use java, by force by force

java phones ? feauture phones i believe , right ?
if so you'll need java as phonegap wont work for that
Programming / Re: I Want To Develop Mobile Applications by xterra2(m): 12:17pm On Jul 09, 2012
doncigalo: @xterra2 Please expantiate a bit more on how it is limited? I am currently using it and I havent found any limitations so far.
To play sounds you use. The phonegap sound API which can play max of 30 seconds
There's a performance hit,its fast not very fast
Can't access the android menu button, which almost every android app has
Can do html only no dynamic stuffs

But its still good, I have an android app done. By it, I have compiled it and tested it though I want it to play sounds and it would be done, so am still doing the sound part
I have an icon, splash screen everything complete remaining to play sounds

What are you working on ? Let me know and state your goals
Maybe we can work together
I can send you the phonegap appp I made if you wanna see

lordZOUGA:
No you can't
Do you know objective C ?
Sure maybe I underestimated it but I would use it for simple apps not complex apps
Nothing tooooooo serious
Programming / Re: I Want To Develop Mobile Applications by xterra2(m): 10:44am On Jul 08, 2012
i also use phonegap but i found out its limited
i would start using c#,objective c and java hencefort
i know java and c#, i could learn objective c in hours
Computers / Re: How To Break Partition In Windows 7 by xterra2(m): 2:32pm On Jul 05, 2012
You have to shrink it first before doing so
The place you are looking for is disk management,
Shrink it first select the number of bytes you want, after shrinking you'll see the new shrinked partition right click and do the rest

Note if would change your hard disk from a basic disk and if you have a hp laptop ...... Wait no need for this nevermind since you have a XP laptop which I guess came with the laptop so you should be fine
Programming / Re: Mysql Installation by xterra2(m): 2:23pm On Jul 05, 2012
Nawawo you want our help okay why not ? But you are making it difficult for us to help you.
You should have taken a screenshot of the window where it asked for the password you didn't , which version of mysql ? No version angry
After the installation no "notepad" window would come and ask for a password - its another window
The window where its aksing for the password is it immediately after the installation ? Did it close the installation window first ? With the desktop showing If yes leave the password blank , if no well you have passed the page where it asks for a password for the first time configuration
By default - in my sql:
Username : root
Password :
The empty space means nothing, yes no password
If it didn't work, don't bother to furnish more details you don vex me already angry
Just do a system restore and leme know which version you want installed
Programming / Re: Are You A Real Programmer? Can You Code With Notepad? by xterra2(m): 12:07pm On Jul 03, 2012
I can do programming with IDEs I don't think I can do so with notepad
I can't use notepad no syntax highlighting,no debugger e.t.c. Back in the days when I was learning html I used notepad.

The people who use notepads. Are programmers, while us that use IDEs are developers
I can't just use notepad I love IDEs, I use netbeans, dreamweaver and visual studio

Although I use. Sublime text 2 (a better notepad++) for some programming time to time., its a text editor but like an IDE
The only exception I have is mysql - I prefer. Mysql command line to mysql workbench, its just cooler typing from the command line and sweeeter but using mysql workbench would remove the. Joy
