Programming / Re: Difference Between Java And Javascript by Xtracoool(m): 8:17am On Jun 05, 2015
Key differences between Java and JavaScript:
Java is an OOP programming language while Java Script is
an OOP scripting language.
Java creates applications that run in a virtual machine or
browser while JavaScript code is run on a browser only.
Java code needs to be compiled while JavaScript code are
all in text.

They require different plug-ins.

Source : www.java.com/en/download/faq/java_javascript.xml

Just some clarification, although I didn't follow the link to read.

1. JavaScript no longer runs on browsers only. The nodejs framework is a testament to this. It's runs off a standalone version of the Google's V8 javascript engine.

2. JavaScript codes are now compiled. Yes compiled! The V8 engine was a game changer for JavaScript. Infact it's part of the reason why node's got off on a good ground.

3. JavaScript does not require any plug-ins. All browsers support it.

NOTE: Actually all browsers support the ECMAScript specifications, but this specification isn't as broad as the browser vendors would like. So some add vendor specific features. This accounts for the inconsistencies of JavaScript across browsers, Microsoft IE being the worst hit.

I think your link is outdated.

how can you possibly read everything you quoted and still talk about drag and drop, code generation, bloated and clumsy?
Its like you guys just read some anti-DW blog posts, copy the terms you see there and jump in here to argue without even knowing what you are arguing about. Theres no sign that you read and comprehend what you are arguing about.
If you read my post which you copied, you woulda understand that I and some other people here are talking about using DW in code view and hence issue of code generation will not arise.
I am more convinced most anti-DW guys HERE are just here to claim Pro and nothing more.

I have used dreameweaver friend. And am not a pro designer. I also didn't copy and paste any article.
Admitted, I read your post in a hurry. Would have really written a longer post but am tired, so you win. I don't have the time to waste discussing dreamweaver. Just don't misguide beginners. Have a good nyt.

onyengbu:

If it was not designed to serve as text editor why does it have the code view? Why does it have code auto completion and syntax highlighting? The part about it being made for graphic designers will shock even the makers of the software.
The thing here is that people like saying that DW is for amateurs just to make themselves feel like pro (i dont mean you).
Dreamweaver have code and design view and which one you decide to switch to determines your level of competitiveness. I love DW so much because of code completion, syntax highlighting, search and replace, updating renamed files sitewide and other life saving features no one hardly mention when they talk down on DW. It is true that any serious coder have no business switching DW's design view or letting it create functions for you but those are not just what DW is all about. It is a much more advanced and useful tool.
DW is not dead like people like to say in public because most people still use it in the comfort of their computers just that there seem to be this stigma hanging over its shoulder that make people deny it in public.
That I am sure is connnected to the fact web design newbies also find unguided solace in making it a tool of choice.

Dreamweaver is bloated and clumsy to use
Dreamweaver code generation is a mess.
Pro web designers don't even do drag and drop

Have you ever tried plugin-reinforced sublimeText? It's a beauty.

ronald4lif:
Nice one bruv.

I subscribe to your line of reasoning. It is advisable for a guy who's still struggling not to focus on a relationship and fall for the deceit called love. Love without money is not worth it. It gets you distracted from pursuing your goals and drain your scarce resources.

A relationship can't survive without money and that girl you're spending your little money and investing on today could dump your ass tomorrow for your age mates who had their priorities right while you were deceiving yourself with love.

Love won't pay the bills either now or after you're married so why waste your time when you can make something meaningful out of life now. That girl you're spending on will only succeed in ruining you up. It is on record that most relationship arguments and divorces stem from finances and the management of the home. How would you handle that when you don't have money?.

I'm not dismissing the importance of a woman in a man's life but priorities need to be set right. Even if one must embark on a relationship and she keeps demanding for this and that you have to quit it. Don't be manipulated by love. The chances of a woman loving you without money is very slim.

The first question I believe a man should ask himself from a girlfriend who's always demanding money from him is, what if there's no more money?. If you can answer that I believe you would know why she's in the relationship with you.

I learnt this the hard way. This is the best post on this thread.

Didn't you see data usage on both opera mini? In the old opera mini, data received was 836.6mb and after compression it became 149.9mb. Then in the new opera mini, data received was 731mb and after compression it became 148mb, so that in my opinion is not too bad.
I can also say that with the new opera mini, I downloaded few songs while I never downloaded anything with the old one. And you know downloads don't get compressed.
So I can boldly say their compression rate is the same or the new one manages better.

Their data compression doesn't really affect your download that much. When you request pages, it's preproccessed in their servers before being sent to your fone.

I think uc browser saves best

If the couple has decided that two children is what they want, who are you to object? Do you think that raising kids is all about money? What about the time and effort that goes into raising them? What has laziness got to do with it? Is it only a woman's job to raise kids? What about the man/father of the child?

Nigeria's population continues to grow drastically yet there are no jobs, no basic amenities like constant light or water and many Nigerians are living in red mud Gwari houses or face-me-I-face-you houses and raising their families in them yet you come here scolding women who want just 2 children. You can go and have a football team and then later, when you cannot afford to take adequate care of them, they will grow up and become a nuisance and begin to traffic hard drugs in Asia somewhere and when caught, they will be executed. we are a mass of people with various cleavages and fault lines – religious, ethnic, linguistic – roaming in the vast territorial space called Nigeria

This is the root of our problems. There is no patriotism, no pride.

Nigeria can be likened to a house on fire; instead of these politicians quenching the fire, they try to take as much as they can out of the house before it finally burns to the ground cry.

Will it ever get better?

[b] Mumuni, who was in a mental hospital was being reviewed for possible release.
When asked what he would do if released, he replied, "I am going to make a slingshot and come back here and break every damn window in the place."Obviously, his release was denied.
Six months later, the board was again considering his release and again asked him the same question. His reply was the same.
"I am going to make a sling shot and come back here and break every damn window in the place." Again, he was turned down.
Several months later he was complaining to a fellow patient that he could never seem to get released. The patients asked him what he said when they interviewed him, and Mumuni told him.
The patient said, "You will never get released with answers like that. You have to tell them what they want to hear. Let me give you some advice on how to answer them when they ask you questions."
So, after considerable coaching, Mumuni felt that he was ready.
So when the board met again, they again asked him what he would do if they let him out. But this time he was ready.
Mumuni said, "I am going to get a job, find an apartment and settle down."
"Good," they said, and then what?
He said, "I want to meet a nice girl and start dating." They agreed he was making real progress and asked, "And then what ?"
"One night when we are alone in my apartment, I am going to make passionate love to my girlfriend. I am going to take her dress off, and then take her bra off and lie her down on the bed."
"Yes," they said excitedly.
"Then I am going to gently remove her panties," he continued.
The board members were really getting excited now and asked, "Then what are you going to do ?"
He said, " I am going to take the elastic out of those panties, make myself a slingshot, come back here and break every damn window in this place!
