Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Graduate Trainee: Should I Take This Employment Offer? by XX01(f): 5:09pm On Aug 15, 2022
PavillionEnergy:
Hello Nairalanders,
I need advice regarding this opportunity.

I applied for an Engineering Graduate Trainee Position recently. I wrote the aptitude and technical tests and passed. I also attended the interview and I was successful.

The Contract Form was sent to me and I saw some clauses that I need to discuss here before I append my signature.

1. The training runs for two years before conversion to a full staff.

2. You cannot terminate the contract for the training once you sign. You must stay for the full two years.

They cannot keep you hostage. That runs against the anti slavery law. If you find a better job, wait till you've been paid then put in your resignation letter and move. Find out how your new company does reference letters etc.

That's such an anti-labour contract.

Health / Re: Help My Mum Regain Her Memorry Please ? by XX01(f): 6:31pm On Aug 12, 2022
cbrass:
Hello, I really need advice on how to help mum in this situation.
She slumped last week and of course, fell. But she was quickly revived back (all Glory to God). Miraculously she is able to make use of her legs and hands and there is no sign of stroke at least.
The issue now is she can't speak fluently, though she can hear.
She struggles to reply when she is asked a question, she also can't remember her ATM PIN again even her phone password.
But she recognizes people and voices too and she still remembers how to sing
I need help on what to do and when she will be able to speak clearly again.
Thanks in advance.

She needs to see a specialist probably a neurologist to refer her to a physiotherapist. You need to know how extensive the damage is and to prevent it from becoming worse.

Roosevelt was incapacitated when he steered USA to WW2 victory. He was the only president that spent 3 terms and died while in his 4th term

Please stop with the partial truths and outright lies. First off, he was the youngest president at 42 years and had polio from when he was a child not due to old age or old age related sickness. It was after he served his last term that US put a law that blocks anyone from being president more than 2ce.

Stop the cap.
Education / Re: Should I Abandon My Masters In Nigeria And Start Afresh Abroad? by XX01(f): 6:58pm On Aug 05, 2022
HustlingHustler:
Hi guys,
I am currently running my masters degree here in Nigeria with few months to finish before the ASUU strike came.
I have plan to use the certificate to boost my Japa plan initially. I have also invested alot of time and resources into the study.
With each day passing, I am getting really tired of Nigeria and I feel my time is been wasted.
I don't know if I should just start applying to schools abroad to start afresh or wait to finish this course in Nigeria.

If you can start applying now maybe in time for Jan session. ASUU won't call off the strike till much later when it's politically expedient to do so.

Politics / Re: 2022 Osun Governorship Election: INEC Official Results, Collation & Announcement by XX01(f): 6:23am On Jul 17, 2022
eldoradoxx:
Tinubu is finally demystified. It took an former Senator who was described as a street dancer to decimate the entire political structure of Tinubu is Osun State. Conduct free and fair election in Lagos, APC will lose the election.
Like I said before, those who fear that next election would be rigged have nothing to fear. The new electoral law which was used in Osun has clearly shown that the only way to rig is vote buying. Results are uploaded electronically directly from polling units so that everyone can see it before it gets to INEC collation centres. Once the vote cast in a polling unit is greater than accredited voters number by BIVAS, the entire poling unit results is automatically cancelled. Great improvement

Vote buying and voters intimidation.

"Lord make us instruments of your peace.
Where there is hatred let your love increase.
Lord make us instruments of your peace.
Walls of pride and prejudice shall cease.
When we are your instruments of peace.

Where there is hatred, we will show His love.
Where there is injury, we will never judge.
Where there is striving, we will speak His peace.
To the people crying for relief, we will be His instruments of peace."

Anything to console Tinubu urchins.. gbam! Is welcome... Moreover, buhari is not supporting Tinubu and there is an insider plan to ceed presidency to the south east or atiku because he tinubu miscalculated and dragged the ticket with buhari's preferred candidate Osinbajo.... The North have vow not to support tinubu so stop giving yourself false hope!

Because you joined them when they were having strategy meeting.

NYSC wasn't compulsory then. So many people didn't do NYSC especially if they schooled abroad.

I thought she wanted to sue directly. Why ask police to investigate when she can sue directly?

At the end of the police, the CP assigned to handle the case will invite both of them to his office and an amicable resolution will be reached. Both will smile like slowpoke in front of the camera and no one will ever get prosecuted. Life continues thereafter.

I'm sure you know the difference between a civil and a criminal case. Whilst pursuing her civil case, she also wants him to serve some jail time for fraud.

I have a question. Can someone who has ever overstayed his/her visa in another country before immigrate to Canada?
My friend once lived in the UK and overstayed her visa because she was trying to process her new born baby’s passport. She lived in the UK illegally for like 2 months and now she wants to immigrate to Canada.

She has been a caregiver for 2 years.

It's possible as long as she declares it and explains her reason.

You can land first and then she and the kids land in 3 months time. The PA can land before the dependants but not the dependants landing before the PA. They would have no issues.

Thank you. Both Kijiji and Marketplace have been highly recommended and so I think it's best I focus my energy on those 2 for now cheesy

Before you pick up the item, ask the person directly if there were bedbugs in their house previously, then check it very well to ensure no bedbug eggs or roach eggs. The last thing you want is to bring bedbugs into your apartment.

It's not very common but a friend mentioned that it good to check as some people would rather sell the furniture rather than fling it.
