Preparation is not easy at all.

I need to find out if it's true that to find accommodation in the GTA is very hard. Will 2 weeks be enough time to land a long term lease? How can this be mitigated because i have barely 2 weeks to get a lease when i land.

Any help with this?

No I will not.

I insist there are people who have been employed by NNPC who knew nobody before getting the jobs.

After the recruitment in 2010, which other one has it happened like that again?

I am writing this post as i intend returning to Nigeria, I will call it an invitation to swap lives if it makes sense..lol, i see a lot of people are moving to ottawa. I am looking for an opportunity for a house, car and furniture exchange. I am looking for a place in ikeja to be close to the airport. I stay in a modern 2 bedroom apartment with utilities etc.

Why not look for who will takeover your stuff, at a price of course and then look for where to rent in Ikeja? The real estate sector is so different in the 2 countries.

Welcome home jare!
Feels good reading landing jists like this.

Pls your 1yr old's checked in lugagge...were they strict on it being (1)10kg?? Or they allowed 23kg since t can only be 1??

Ethiopian airlines allows 23kg for infants if the trip is to Canada/US.

@newmum0615 and others in the know

I'm curious about "ielts writing" and I had thought to ask for a while now.

If they test says 250 words, am I to write 250 words and maybe a little spill over of say another 30 words extra OR I can write as much as I want insofar it is not below 250 words?

Is there a penalty for writing waaay above 250 words...say, like 500 words?

Thank you.

It will surely end in praise IJN!

From the tips I read, if it is too much over 250 words, they stop grading at around that and don't read the rest. It's a waste and you might lose marks. Anything significantly less than 250 words such as 200 and below, you will definitely lose marks.

Does validity expire from the day of medical passed or date of upfront medical test?

Sorry, it was sleep in my eyes. It's from the date the medical was taken. Let me edit it.

Hello All,

I just got PPR and I was told my passports should be valid for 6 months. My current passport expires in June 18th 2018 which is now less than six months.

I have an option to take the risk and send my passport or renew .

Now the question;

I am given 15 days to submit my passport, how do I ask for extension to renew my passport?

CC: cochtrane

I know this is late and you have probably taken a decision on what to do but the info can help others in your shoes.

The validity of the visa is usually the earlier of medicals taken date or the passport expiry date. CIC requires that your passport should be valid for more than 6 months at the point of application i.e. AOR. So, instead of giving you a visa that expires after 1 year of medicals taken, they would have given you a visa expiring as at the date of your passport expiration date.

I hope I wasn't too confusing.

For guys with COPR, please when you send your PUM and authorization letter to DHL, how do you know they have picked up your package from AVO.

I sent mine last week and they sent an email the same day that my pickup request has been processed.

I thought they are meant to send a tracking number because I am yet to yet one from them.

Thanks!!

I don't think they will give a tracking number. Not too sure. They will soon deliver to you, don't worry. They are pretty efficient in that regards.

I may be wrong, I always think that the relocation to Canada is one of the easiest in the world given the varieties of social services this country offer to its newcomers. I stand to be corrected though.

Therefore, I would never advise anyone who is moving to Canada to leave a child behind if the person can travel with the child.

You should travel with your daughter. Yes, relocating may be challenging and intimidating. However, you will be surprised of how fast things will fall into place.

How about stabilizing, getting a job and then getting your kid to join?

Relocate via pr or via tfw or student permit? You should go with her. She's 5yrs old. She'll start kindergarten and go to a child care place for before and after school while yoy go to school, work or attend a bridging prog.

Hello Vcole, is the before and after school care program free? Is it province specific?

With that 20k, I'd get 180gb on Glo, plus super fast 4G LTE. This is why i'm hoping that Glo acquires 9mobile.

If that happens, I will break both 9mobile sims and use just my Airtel. Glo is the kind of crap I don't like. grin

Please note that for childcare it varies on family income as stated after filing tax. I pay 525 monthly with government subsidy . I also have a friend that just moved here and pays $0 cos she just started working. With child care it's important to note that there is always a wait list with govt subsidy so try as much as possible to get on the list asap. Cos I had to wait for 4 5 months to get approved.

How do you get on the wait list? Do you just apply to the nearest daycare or any one at all?

Lemme attempt this for a family of four with two pre-school age kids

Monthly rent.................853
Tenancy Insurance.........28
Groceries......................400 (being ultra conservative here)
Internet/cable TV...........105 (I'm getting this free for signing a one year lease with my rental company)
Phone bill......................110 (For two phone lines with Fido)
Child care cost...............769 (After removing the government subsidy)
Bus pass x 2..................190
Electricity bill..................50

These are basic expenditure you will encounter as a newly landed immigrant hence the request for POF. I didnt even add miscellaneous expenses. Now you have it. I hope this doesnt scare you off from completing your journey to Canada grin grin grin grin

Sorry if I missed it earlier, what town do you live in?

You assume the principles that legitimizes ones freedom to be gay is different from the principle which legitimizes anothers disaffection towards gay people.

Your version of morality undecided (subjective) is what; tyrant, despots, and even demorcratic leaders employ to influence the masses.

PS: ur brain is sexy. smiley

Your opinion and definition of morality is still VERY subjective and not a generally accepted view. You see where this is going right?

5 years or 15 years, the point is that it was not from lack of money.
Religion / Re: Deeper Life Bible Church: Facts No One Would Tell You About The Church by XX01(f): 7:56pm On Dec 17, 2017
It took 5 years for the HQ to be completed because Lagos state govt refused them opening till they have sufficient parking space. They had to buy up people's homes at sometimes exorbitant amounts and then demolish them for that to happen.

It wasn't for lack of money. DLCM is one of the richest churches in Nigeria. They just are not ostentatious.

When did morality become subjective. It should be abstract. If it were subjective it would be bias.

Tis why I have decided to be a snob. Less than 2% of people talking about an issue can tie their shoe laces.

I wonder how you would feel, if your child or neice , attends that citadel of misinformation.

Morality is VERY subjective. What would be moral to me could be immoral to you. People believe in homosexuality and are taught that it is normal. Others think it's immoral. Etc etc.

I will ignore the rest of your post.

They probably taught them of a particular incidence that the leader showed kindness to Africa. So the kid had to remember. It's Moral instruction so it is expected to have some subjectivity.
