Politics / [EXCLUSIVE] How Gov Adeleke’s Negligence Led To Adeoriokin’s Death - ASLER by yakdat91(m): 10:47am On Jan 30
[EXCLUSIVE] How Gov Adeleke’s Negligence to Osun Healthcare Systems led to Adeoriokin’s death - ASLER

Engr. David Ayodele Asalu, widely known as Asler, has accused Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke of negligence leading to the death of his friend, Dr. Richard Adelani Idowu (RAI). Asler claims that the incident could have been avoided if the state had prioritized quality healthcare.

According to Asler, after Dr. RAI was shot, attempts to secure prompt medical attention were hindered by the dysfunctional state of the State General Hospital in Ejigbo, which was reportedly short-staffed. Desperate to save Dr. RAI’s life, Asler and his companions sought help at a private hospital in Ejigbo, only to encounter further challenges, including the need to provide funds for fuel to power the hospital’s generator.

Expressing his frustration, Asler stated, “We lost an illustrious son to the dysfunctional state of our healthcare facilities, both public and private.” He highlighted that the State General Hospital, which should have been the primary choice, remained understaffed due to the cancellation of the recruitment of 1500 health workers made by Oyetola’s administration before he left office which has since then cancelled by the current administration.

“Ordinarily, the State General Hospital should be our go-to Hospital, but it is a known fact to every Ejigbo dweller that the Hospital is extremely short-staffed. This should have been corrected with the employment of 1500 Health Workers by the Oyetola administration, but the current government canceled the recruitment of the much-needed health workers. Since that step, the General Hospital in Ejigbo has remained a beautiful edifice without qualified hands to run it. This is unfortunate!" He said.

Politics / Osun: Ilesa APC Denies Aregbesola, Associates by yakdat91(m): 9:50pm On Dec 13, 2023
The leadership organs of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ilesa West local government, Osun State, on Tuesday dissociated itself and the party from the tactics of the former member of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon Wale Adedoyin, in promoting Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola by trying to bring him back to the party through the backdoor.

One would recall that Hon Wale Adedoyin had on Sunday erected a banner with the header "Our Unity is Our Strength" at the Ilesa West APC Secretariat at Isokun, Ilesa, wherein he projected Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola alongside the APC National Leader and President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Osun State APC Leader and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, HE Adegboyega Oyetola.

The erection of the banner had generated controversies on some APC members dominated social media platforms.

In a disclaimer release signed by Ilesa West APC leadership organs involving the two State Exco members representing the local government, the two LG party chairmen, the LG secretary, the LG women leaders, the LG youth leaders , the ten Wards chairmen and other leaders of the party seen by this publication, the leadership disassociated itself, claiming that Hon. Wale Adedoyin does not enjoy the full privileges of a party member until he is cleared of anti-party allegations against him.

The disclaimer release also mentioned that Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, strongly and massively mobilized his supporters and devotees to work against the Osun state 2022 governorship re-election of HE Adegboyega Oyetola and the 2023 presidentiai ambition of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Politics / Oyetola’s Lieutenant, Sowade Sets To Empower 400 Persons In Modakeke by yakdat91(m): 12:29pm On Oct 23, 2023
In a continued effort to uplift and support the vulnerable and less privileged members of society, the “Oyetola’s Hand of Fellowship (OHOF) program” celebrates the dedicated service of His Excellency Gboyega Oyetola to the people of Osun State, particularly in Modakeke. Hon. Kayode Sowade is gearing up to host the second season of this empowerment initiative.

The inaugural edition of OHOF, which took place at Modakeke Town Hall in July, successfully assisted around 400 individuals through various empowerment endeavors, including cash gifts and food support for the elderly and vulnerable.

For Season 2, over 400 beneficiaries will be chosen from all wards of Ife East, regardless of political affiliation, highlighting OHOF’s commitment to inclusivity and community welfare.

According to Sowade, “This initiative, running until 2026, is dedicated to providing palliatives to widows, the elderly, and vulnerable members of society, with the aim of extending His Excellency Gboyega Oyetola’s message of support and care to over 5000 less privileged individuals in the society. Politics / Group Calls On Atiku, Obi To Release Their Academic Records Or Face Legal Action by yakdat91(m): 9:46am On Oct 06, 2023
Team Beta Naija, a prominent Nigerian advocacy group, has demanded that presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and his counterpart Peter Obi release their academic records to the public within seven days or face legal action.

The group, which has been at the forefront of recent controversies surrounding the academic records of political figures, criticized Atiku Abubakar’s persistent focus on President Bola Tinubu’s educational history, labeling it a “chase of shadows” and a “fishing expedition.” They urged Atiku to concentrate on his ongoing legal challenge to the 2023 presidential election results instead.

Mustafa Ahmed Tijani, the Spokesman for Team Beta Naija, stated, “It is laughable that people with questionable track records both in public service and private practice are on the chase of President Tinubu, whose academic, administrative prowess, and leadership capacity have been proven both locally and internationally.”

The group also questioned Atiku’s educational claims, particularly his assertion that he attended the Royal School of Hygiene in Kano and later obtained a Master’s Degree. Additionally, they raised doubts about Peter Obi’s academic background, highlighting discrepancies in his stated qualifications.

Etinosa Igiebor, the Director General of Team Beta Naija, commented, “We have before now written privately to both Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, requesting the release of their academic credentials, but there was no response. We are hereby issuing a public call with a seven-day ultimatum for compliance.”

Failure to comply with this ultimatum, according to the group, will result in legal action seeking the release of the academic records of both Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. Team Beta Naija emphasized that the case before the Supreme Court should be based on logic and evidence.

Team Beta Naija urged Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and expressing hope for a brighter future for the country amidst its current challenges.

Politics / TEAM BETA NAIJA Send Strong Warning To Atiku, Obi Over Tinubu Academic Records by yakdat91(m): 9:05am On Oct 06, 2023
We, members of Team Beta Naija, are asking the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, to end his chastening chase of shadows over the transcript and academic records of President Bola Tinubu from Chicago State University (CSU). For weeks now, the political terrain has been overtaken with the needless and ultimately fruitless drama created by the former Vice President in his attempt to turn facts on its head and seemingly empty the Atlantic Ocean with a spoon.

We expect him to busy himself with how to prove that he won the February Presidential Election at the Supreme Court, rather than this fishing expedition he is currently on. Instead of proving that he won the election, he is busy spending his fraudulently earned dollars on expensive lawyers to prove a matter that is not in doubt at all.

It is laughable that people with questionable track records both in public service and private practice are on the chase of President Tinubu, whose academic, administrative prowess, and leadership capacity have been proven both locally and internationally.

Just so we are clear, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not seeking admission into Atiku Abubakar's privately-owned university, which only came into existence after his time in office as Vice President. So, one wonders what he intends to do with the President's transcript and certificate at this time. In any case, should Atiku Abubakar be in a generous mood, he may want to extend a free admission offer to members of his own party, as he only needs to look to Osun State to find a worthy beneficiary of such unsolicited generosity.

However, we are glad that the matter is has been laid to rest as Caleb Westberg, the University Registrar at CSU, said in a deposition and under oath, that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a graduate of CSU and was issued a certificate after graduating from the school with honours.

His words, “I see that he said the same person he (Atiku Abubakar) ran against is now the President of Nigeria, the Bola Tinubu who attended Southwest College took accounting courses. The Bola Tinubu who attended CSU also took accounting courses. I see the address indicated for Bola Tinubu. It’s not far from CSU (campus).

“I looked at the whole record in making the determination that the Bola Tinubu who is the president of Nigeria today is the same person who attended CSU. The entries’1952’ and ‘1954’ could have been made in error. The person who attended Southwest College is the person who attended CSU. The courses taken by Bola Tinubu at Southwest and CSU are consistent.

“Right after the entry ‘F’, the social security number (SSN) entered indicated in the Southwest transcript is the same as the one that was indicated in CSU records. That is one of the indicia that we use to identify students. A social security number is a unique identifier.”

Now that the matter is rested and dollars have been put to shame, we must leave them to their flight of fantasy and return to reality. Nigeria dearly needs governing and it is only right that we allow the man Nigerians willingly gave the mandate to lead to do just that. While the President has not been distracted in the least and has even been doing wonders in the assignment Nigerians gave to him, we must do our best to not add to his already arduous job.

Meanwhile, we are concerned about how Atiku Abubakar, who claims he attended the Royal School of Hygiene in Kano, ended up as a Master’s Degree holder. We are also at a loss as to why Peter Obi, who claims to have graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, is unwilling to parade said transcript and academic records. It is alleged that Peter Obi did not graduate from the Great UNN. About a year ago, during the campaigns on a show on Arise TV, Peter Obi claimed to have studied “Market-to-Market Management in Harvard.” We checked and found that the Harvard Business School has no such course of study by that title. So, we can say with all confidence that Peter Obi lied. Not surprising… his entire campaign was a pool of fable tales, incendiary narratives and an unmitigated disaster. It was a joke from which our collective psyche is yet to recover from… a fever that our social media space is clearly yet to break.

Let it be on record that we have before now written privately to both the Presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar and his Labour Party counterpart, Mr. Peter Obi, to release their academic credentials to the public and there was no response from either party. We are hereby issuing another public call with a Seven (7) day ultimatum for compliance.

Failure to do so will see us asking our lawyers, who are waiting in the wings, to institute a case against them in a court of competent jurisdiction to demand the release of the academic records of both the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his Labour Party candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.

The case before the Supreme Court is a logical one and not an emotional affair. If they want to win, they must prove beyond every reasonable doubt. Anything aside logic will amount to a waste of time.

We urge Nigerians to continue their support for the President's administration. We are mindful of the current challenges, and we are quite hopeful that the tide will change, and the country will blossom again.

Signed

Mustafa Ahmed Tijani
Spokesman, Team Beta Naija.

Etinosa Igiebor

Politics / Osun: Ijesha High Chief Attacks Aregbesola And Allies Over Facebook Comment by yakdat91(m): 2:09pm On Jul 15, 2023
OYEYEMI AN IJESHA CHIEF SERVED IT VERY VERY HOT FOR RAUF AREGBESOLA AND LANI BADERINWA'S DEFENCE FELL SO FLAT

Read it in;

Mr. Lani Baderinwa, a former Osun state Commissionner for Information and the Secretary of the disbanded The Osun Progressives (TOP) and Chief Oluremi Oyeyemi, the Bobagunwa of Imobi-Ijesa and one of the respected opinion moulders of the modern day Ijesaland elitist class, have traded words over the Osun former APC governor's, Adegboyega Oyetola and Rauf Aregbesola'd alleged power tussle.

Mr. Lani Baderinwa had reacted with his comment on Ogbeni Oladimeji Lasore of the KAKAKIOODUA fame's Facebook post referring to the scornful display against Aregbesola when Alimosho All Progressives Congress (APC) members declared the former Nigeria Minister politically 'dead'.

Commenting on the post Mr. Lani Baderinwa posted;

"So, the hatred is this much, to the extent of death wish? What exactly is Ogbeni's offence? This negative vibes may make things difficult for Osun APC."

But in a swift reaction Chief Oluremi Oyeyemi posted;

"Aregbesola is a CURSE to Osun State. We vilified Olagunsoye Oyinlola for borrowing 18b naira. Aregbesola put Osun im almost 300b naira debt.

"He destroyed our schools. He made children wear a single uniform.

"He stole our money through inflated contracts especislly on his fake legacy schools.

"He never listened to counseling of the elders.

"He created RELIGIOUS CRISIS in Osun.

"He destroyed APC in Osun.

"He publicly wished BAT dead.

"He betrayed Ijesa people.

"He is a wicked soul.

"He inflicted Osun with hunger with HALF SALARY. Many people died.

"May this plague called Aregbesola not be inflicted on Osun State ever again  Amen"

Replying, Lani Baderinwa tried to calm Chief Oyeyemi down by referring to his submission as his opinion on the person of Rauf Aregbesola.

"Opinion is free and trading it on Facebook anyhow is the most unfettered. We are supposed to be friends." Lani re-posted

To this, Chief Oyeyemi seemed to have descended harder as he disagreed on the use of "opinion" by Mr. Lani Baderinwa in his comment reproduced below;

"You call it opinion? I am laughing. AREGBESOLA DESTROYED OSUN STATE and you know that.

"Do you think I belong to your crowd of untutored praise singers? Your sychophants?  The political hunkers? You know me better than that.

"Is it opinion that he paid HALF SALARY?

"Is it opinion that people died as a result?

"Is it opinion that he destroyed our schools? I use Ilesa Grammar School as an example?

"Is it opinion that OsunState school students were made to wear one uniform?

"Is it opinion that he put OSUN STATE IN DEBT?

"Is it opinion that he destroyed APC in Osun State?

"Is it opinion that he actually wished BAT dead?

"When you are alone... in the quiet recess of your mansion.... meditating and rolling over these FACTS in your mind... your conclusion would be very clear.

"I AM NOT A POLITICIAN. But I am sufficiently political enough to be concerned about a selfish and destructive politician who caused gnashing of teeth and shedding of tears for the ordinary man.

"Aregbesola aborted a project that would have directly employed 7000 Osun indigines and another 12000 as auxilliaries without any kobo from OSG. This is a public secret.

"His egoistic fight against Gboyega Oyetola is because the man distinguished himself as a better manager and cool-headed leader. Because of that he destroyed the party in Osun State.

"You wrote that "We are supposed to be friends." Really? Hmmmm... I don't know if you are talking about yourself or Aregbesola. I discussed him with Baba Akande. But I will keep that confidential.

"AREGBESOLA is an empty-headed change agent who led a legion of leeches to devastate Osun State and left my people in Ijesa land in the lurch. Bunch of locusts who assumed that "Osun go" (Osun people are foolish) and carted away our resources.

"My prayer is that an audacious kleptocrat like him with an obnoxious temerity to mismanage and destroy would never cross the firmanent of OSUN STATE again.

"In my book... GBOYEGA OYETOLA is a fine gentleman who listened to the people. He is a better manager of resources. Posterity would be pleased with him.

"By the way... as opposed to my "opinion"... I challenge you to "trade" your FACTS here!

"LIES NEVER LAST.... HISTORY NEVER DIES.... AND THE TRUTH IS ALWAYS CONSTANT!"

Politics / Osun Transport Workers Cries Out, Begs Gov. Adeleke by yakdat91(m): 8:19pm On Jul 03, 2023
Osun Transport Workers Cries Out, Begs Gov. Adeleke to call Ex-PDP chieftain to order

Members of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) in Iree, Boripe local government area of Osun have appealed to Governor Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke to intervene in what they called an intentional victimization they are subjected to by an ex PDP scribe in the state, Chief Yinka Adeojo.

The Union disclosed that If an urgent action is not taken on the matter, the association feared that their members become jobless.

The crisis started when Adeojo, who is an indigene of Iree, said he has bought the piece of land where the commercial drivers are using as their Park from a chief, therefore, they should vacate the land.

RTEAN, it was learnt, have been on the land, opposite the town's Post Office, given to them by the government, since 2010.

It was gathered that they had gotten the approval to make use of the piece of land thirteen years ago via a letter made available to them by one A.O Fatoye which was dated May 19, 2011 and signed on behalf of the then chairman of Boripe local government.

According to the union chairman, Sunday Adeosun, Adeojo once laid claim to the land around 2011/2012, saying he bought it from a chief, the move to take over the land was vehemently resisted by the association and eventually led to legal battle.

They however won the court case at the Ikirun High court in Suit Number: HIK/4/2012, as it even awarded N10,000 costs against Adeojo.

"To our surprise, Adeojo in connivance with leadership of Iree Progressive Association (IPA) came with another claim immediately the Supreme Court of Nigeria declared Governor Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke as the authentic winner of 2022 Osun gubernatorial election.

"They claimed that because there was a robbery incident in Iree that affected the two commercial banks in the town in 2021, we should no longer use the place as our motor park.

"Let us even assume that we consider the reasons given as plausible, which one poses security threat between our motor park that is eleven buildings away from the commercial banks and the Oluomo Shopping Complex where there are business entities including a filling station, salon, a car wash, a game center, laundry?

"Will it be possible for someone who is not our member to park his vehicle at our motor park without being questioned? the answer is ‘no’.

"We know that Governor Adeleke will not allow injustice because some of our members are already of a considered opinion that Chief Adeojo is planning to get what the court denied him through the backdoor. We have more than 100 members and so many lives are attached to ours for livelihood.

"We urge the governor to caution the local government officials and others who are planning to send us packing ostensibly at the instance of those interested in the piece of land, which is even a setback"

"We are law abiding citizens, we are not partisans, we believe in the administration of Governor Adeleke and we will continually pray for the success of his administration" he said.

Politics / OSUN: Oyetola’s Lieutenant Empowers Over 300 Persons In Modakeke by yakdat91(m): 7:21pm On Jul 03, 2023
To continue the legacy of the immediate Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola in reaching out to the less privileged in the society, Engr. Kayode Sowade organised an empowerment programme for people of Modakeke, Ife East local government area of Osun State.

The programme, which was held on Sunday at Modakeke Town hall, was tagged "Oyetola Hand of Fellowship" and targeted about 400 persons.

The beneficiaries were drawn from all wards of Ife East and were given cash gifts.

In an interview, organiser of the event, Engr Sowade said the programme was aimed at giving palliatives to widows, the aged and the vulnerable people in the society in other to extend Oyetola's hands of fellowship.

He said the event will not only give beneficiaries some hopes, but also let them know that the All Progressives Congress is much on ground and still listens to their yearnings.

Former Commissioner for Finance, Mr Bola Oyebamiji, representing the former Governor, described the programme as a service to humanity, which former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola is known for.

"The programme is a service to humanity. It should be encouraged because government cannot do it all."

He commended the effort of Sowade for the initiative, adding that all lieutenants of Oyetola would replicate such gesture in their domains.

"It is very important to add value to the society. We've learnt from this initiative. We would do the same in our domains. This is what our Leader represents and we all must work towards this direction," he said.

Former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke, who was also present at the programme, said the programme was a postive step that projected APC as an acceptable party in the State and a party that cared about its followers.

"Serving humanity is not about politics. We would continue the goodwill as Oyetola did while he was in Office. We would extend the initiative to all Communities in order to expand the scope and bring more people to benefit," he said.

Former Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Olumo Sunday Akere, equally added that the programme was a good one and should be encouraged. He said such event would prepare APC for the election ahead by integrating party faithful.

"The people are in the mind of APC. Oyetola not in power does not mean they would not support the less privileged. Leaders of APC are known for such and will continue to support the needy in their respective communities," Akere added.

One of the beneficiaries, Goke Adebowale, described Sowade as a philanthropist of note in Modakeke, appreciating him for initiating Oyetola Hand of Fellowship.

The event was graced by political leaders across Osun State, religious leaders and community leaders led by the National President of Modakeke Progressive Union, Professor Olawoni.

Prof. Olawoni commended Sowade for his initiative, stating that the community would forever be grateful to the gesture as helping in cushioning the effect of economic hardship on many families.

Politics / CG Customs Appointment ; Modakeke APC Chieftain Thanks Tinubu, Oyetola by yakdat91(m): 1:13pm On Jun 27, 2023
"Never ever seek for gratefulness from mankind, you shall always see ungratefulness. Do what you must do as a solemn duty and that is what you must do!' ~Ernest Agyemang Yeboah

This quote exemplifies what this article would stand for after thoroughly digesting the benevolence and the magnanimity of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola CON, who despite open hostility, lack of support during the electioneering periods (Governorship and State Assembly Elections of 2023) has delivered the biggest dividend of democracy to the people of Modakeke and Ife land in general.

The recent appointment of Alhaji Adewale Adeniyi Bashir an Assistant Comptroller General of Customs as the Acting Comptroller General of Customs is a prove that Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola is a leader with a large heart, he is a man blessed with uncommon spirit of sportsmanship and a pure lover of the Osun Progressives.

The well deserved appointment was received with some much joy even within the Customs service, Alhaji Bashir, no doubt is well qualified, adequately equipped and prepared for the job having served in various capacity , he was picked ahead of about 21 other well qualified senior cadres of the agency.

One would ask, why the choice of the Modakeke Born DCG? While attempting to answer this, everything would point to the magic wand and intervention of the Osun State Leader of the APC, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola who report has it that he used his heavy network to the presidency to lobby for the helmsman of the agency, Oyetola opened his heart to see the great benefits attached to the office and how the people of Osun would be the biggest beneficiary of the office, Oyetola saw an avenue to better the human capital development of the State despite not being at the helms of affairs of the State, Oyetola saw a bigger picture of Osun being positioned for great exploits in the administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and he grabbed it.

This wouldn't be the first of Oyetola's goodwill to the people of Modakeke, it was him through the Osun Ministry of Works who reconstruction the long abandoned Famia Road in Modakeke, a road that had become a death trap for motorists and pedestrians alike, gave the town a seat in the State Executive Council, Board member of government agencies and made a youth the secretary to the Local Government (Area Office) plus several other good wills extended to the town.

It was therefore a surprise that Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola lost in Modakeke in the July 16th, 2022 Gubernatorial elections in the State, same way his party lost in the state house of assembly elections of 2023, this portrayed the people of the town in bad light and apparently should have caused a disaffection between Oyetola and the people of Modakeke, instead Oyetola has chosen to open a flood gate of opportunity for the town as there is no doubt that Modakeke and her sons and daughters would be the greatest beneficiaries of the appointment of Alhaji Adewale Adeniyi Bashir.

It is an open secret that we have the leader of the APC in Osun, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola to thank for this appointment, same way we must more importantly appreciate the President Bola Tinubu for this magnitude of this great appointment.
I wholeheartedly congratulate Alhaji Adewale Adeniyi Bashir on his well deserved appointment, We look forward to witnessing a remarkable transformations in The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) during your tenure.

Hon Kayode Sowade an ardent follower of Oyetola and by extension, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and a lover of his town Modakeke, and Ife in general wrote.

Politics / How Buhari's Appointee Worked With PDP In Elections In Osun - PDP Chieftain by yakdat91(m): 9:00pm On Jun 26, 2023
More facts have emerged how one of the appointees of former President Muhammadu Buhari, Dr Najeem Salaam, worked against the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in all the elections held in the state in 2022 and 2023.

Today, during a current affairs radio programme monitored in Osogbo, Osun State, Dr Salaam, a director in the Nigerian Communication Satellite Limited ( NigComSat) was mentioned by a PDP chieftain, Engr Kehinde Raji ( ARAJ), as one of the key APC leaders who were funded by the Adelekes family to facilitate election winning for the party.

According to Raji, "During the last electioneering, the former speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Najeem Salaam, directed me to disburse N4million received from the Adelekes family to sort some security exigencies during the elections. The money was disbursed for the purpose it was meant for and proper accounts, as to the disbursement, were made to the appropriate quarters."

Raji and Sallam are prominent associates of the former minister of interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, and there are allegations that they were instructed by Aregbesola, also from Osun, to work for the success of PDP in all the elections in the state.

Discussing the development after the radio programme, a social scientist who is also the convener of Renewed Mandate in Nigeria, Raphael Akanji, said the revelation by Kehinde Raji (Araj) was a further proof that the Ejigbo-born politician was flagrantly involved in anti-party activities and should be sanctioned appropriately.

"It is unfortunate that someone of Dr Najeem Salami's calibre, who was given a very big federal appointment on the recommendation of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and was also given the courtesy to nominate the SSG to Oyetola, soiled his hand with this little money from PDP. It is sadder given the fact that he also received huge amount of money from the former governor, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, to work for the APC in the elections. How do we explain the fact he engaged in double-dealing? This is shameful."

Sallam, noted to be the second-in-command to Aregbesola in the state, coordinated the activities of a factional group within Osun APC allegedly used by the former governor to unsettle the peace of the mainstream APC.

Politics / Oyetola’s Hand Of Fellowship Initiative Launched To Provide Food And Cash Suppor by yakdat91(m): 7:15am On Jun 26, 2023
Oyetola’s Hand of Fellowship Initiative Launched to Provide Food and Cash Support in Osun

In recognition of the remarkable service rendered by former Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, a new initiative called Oyetola’s Hand of Fellowship (OHOF) has been launched to extend vital food and cash support to over 5000 vulnerable individuals in Modakeke.

With a primary focus on widows and individuals aged 70 and above, OHOF aims to honor Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola's contributions to the region while addressing the pressing needs of the least privileged.

During his four-year tenure, Oyetola's governance in Osun State set a standard that is challenging to rival, let alone surpass. In homage to his dedicated service, OHOF seeks to make a tangible difference in the lives of those most in need.

By distributing food and cash as a form of support, the initiative aims to provide sustenance and relief to thousands of individual yearly for the next four years.

The OHOF program acknowledges the importance of assisting widows and the elderly, who often face heightened challenges in meeting their basic needs.

By targeting these vulnerable groups, the initiative aims to alleviate their struggles and foster a sense of renewed hope within the community.

Oyetola’s hand of Fellowship is an initiative of Hon. Kayode Sowade through an existing foundation called Rachael Adebimpe Foundation ( RAF) which sponsored the Independence Day Essay Competition throughout the tenure of Gboyega Oyetola as Governor of Osun, where many cash gift including a brand new car were given to the winners of the competition

The maiden edition is expected to commence by July, 2nd, 2023 at Modakeke

Hon. Kayode Sowade urged the community, as well as the media, to support and help spread awareness about this initiative. Together, through concerted efforts, the goal is to make a substantial and lasting positive impact on the lives of those in need.

Politics / Is Adeleke Planning To Join APC? by yakdat91(m): 4:53pm On Jun 18, 2023
By Adebayo Adedeji

Having bungled the somewhat goodwill that brought him to office as the 6th executive governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, no doubt, has realised that dancing around the state alone can't fetch him the needed second term in 2026. Just seven months in the saddles, he has lost the grip of governance. He now struggles to pay pension and salary, couldn't fulfil his pre-election social contract of offsetting salary arrears before 100 days in office and social contract of transforming the State of the Living Spring to a mini London. His only achievements thus far are an installation of few poorly built pit-latrines and a construction of substandard roads, 1km in all, across the state! He has realised that his fans are deeply disappointed in him, despite the huge allocation, close to N100billion, accrued to the state since his inauguration last November.

Therefore, given his uninspiring performance, the prevailing local and national politics, the dancing governor might have been informed that the most desirable option available to him is rejoining the All Progressives Congress so as to protect his mandate and the business interest of his elder brother and sponsor, Dr Deji Adeleke.

The senior Adeleke, father of the ace singer, Davido, is known for his involvement in the energy/power sector in the country. His Pacific Energy Limited operates the Olorunsogo Power Company located in Ogun State and Omotosho Power Company located in Ondo State.

Since 2006 when the company acquired the two power plants (partly though), it has made significant exploits that now demand it gives more push for it to have a better hold in the industry. To fulfil its vision, the company in 2021 expressed its interest to invest in some plants put up for sale by the Bureau of Public Enterprises ( BPE). The five plants affected are in Geregu, Omotosho, Olorunsogo, Calabar and Benin-Ihovbor. The plants are 100 per cent for sale, in line with the policy of divesting government shares from thermal generating plants.

Of the 36 firms which submitted EOIs (Expression of Interests) for the power privatisation, 16 firms were shortlisted July 2022, including Deji Adeleke's Pacific Energy. But the process to land the deal is not a child's play. It involves many behind-the-scenes.

Can a sensible government allow an unfriendly investor control its power sector? The Adelekes know the answer, reason they have literally relocated to Aso Villa, running kitikiti to be in the good book of the new president. Or how many times, since emergence of Asiwaju Tinubu as country's president, have you seen the big mannequin in Abere issue his usual kindergatten press statements to deride Jagaban or his blood, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, the immediate past governor of Osun State?

The Adelekes know they must shed their combative posturing... and better behave themselves, else their life-time ambition would suffer an eternal damnation. Because Tinubu won't stay akimbo while his party members in Osun are taken to Golgotha to be bludgeoned to death with reckless abandon, as it was the case in recent elections where close to thirty (30) APC members were gruesomely killed for the governing party in the state to earn their pyrrhic victories.

They know Tinubu won't subscribe to any election short of decency. And poignantly, they know it is a tall order for them to win a free-and-fair election under the unpopular, tattered and accursed umbrella. Reason the speculated migration back to APC is possibly number one on their wish-list.

Politics / Osun Monarch, Olowu Of Kuta Issues Warning To Asari Dokubo Over Oil Theft by yakdat91(m): 10:23am On Jun 18, 2023
Olowu of Kuta, HRH Oba Adekunle Oyelude Makama, Tegbosun III, has warned former Niger Delta agitator, Mujahid Asari Dokubo not to demoralise the military with ungarded statement.

Olowu in a statement issued by his media office said any attempt to Ridicule Nigerian Military because of few bad elements like any other institutions will be counter productive.

The monarch said it takes a lot of efforts to build a country military to such standard that we have in Nigeria, adding that such sweeping statement that the military is responsible for the oil theft in Niger Delta is not the best.

Olowu, who frowns at such generalisation said in as much as the country appreciates the support of Dokubo in the last few months to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his outburst about the military after the visit is unbecoming.

Olowu said; "the outburst of Dokubo that the military was responsible for the oil theft after his visit to Mr President is unbecoming. It's a betrayal of trust. Why should he use the presidential press galery to make such statement that's capable of demoralising our military?" If he has any information about some unscrupulous elements in the military involved in oil theft, he can pass it unto Mr President without that undue sensationalism. It's uncalled for.

With the supreme sacrifice our military had made and forces of insurgency and associated unrest across the country it's grappling with daily in order to keep Nigeria as one, that statement is tantamout to breaking their spirit; it's not the best", the monarch counseled.

It will be recalled that Dokubo after meeting President Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa yesterday accused the military of being responsible for the oil theft in the Niger Delta.

Politics / Ijesa Stakeholders To Honour Osun Ex-gov. Oyetola, Owoeye, ayeni, Omowaiye, Other by yakdat91(m): 12:21pm On Jun 14, 2023
in "Homecoming and Award Ceremony"

The Ijesa stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State are set to welcome their selected sons who served in various political offices between 2019 and 2023.

The event, "Homecoming and Award Ceremony," scheduled to take place on Friday, June 16, 2023, will hold at the prestigious Oba Aromolaran Civic Centre in Ilesa, Osun State by 12noon.

A statement released by the organizing committee of the event stressed that the occasion aims to appreciate the outstanding contributions of the political office holders who served in the last four years, in the administration of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and in the national assembly.

According to the statement, "These individuals are being recognized for their exemplary and meritorious service to the state and country; and demonstration of their Omoluabi ethos. These great ambassadors of ours symbolize the core values of integrity, selflessness, and dedication to serving the people.

"We are immensely proud of our sons who didn't only exemplify unwavering commitment to service, but refused to compromise the standard, truthfulness and loyalty for which we are noted. These bonafide Ijesa sons have demonstrated exceptional leadership and have been true representatives of our constituency between 2019 and 2023," the statement read.

Those to be honoured at the event include, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa, former Chairman, Osun State SUBEB; Hon. Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni, former Member, House of Representatives, Ijesa South Federal Constituency; Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, former Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly

Others are Hon. Festus Komolafe, ex-Member, Osun State House of Assembly, Atakumosa East/West; Hon. Charles Akinola, ex-Chief of Staff; Hon. Remi Omowaiye, ex-Commissioner for Works and Transport and Hon. Adedayo Adewole, ex-Commissioner for Agriculture.

In addition to honouring the foregoing office holders, the statement also indicated that the former governor of Osun State, His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola, would also be recognized for his outstanding service and unflinching commitment to the interest, welfare and well-being of the people of Ijesaland and Osun State.

However, it has been observed that a number of former commissioners, of Ijesa South extraction, who served in the cabinet of Oyetola or served the state from 2019-2023 are missing on the award list.

The affected persons are Mr. Segun Olanibi, former Commissioner for Rural Development, and Mr. Taiwo Akeju, former Commissioner for Political Affairs.

Hon. Wale Adedoyin, who represented Ilesa West state constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, did not also make the list.

No reason has been given for this conspicuous omission but it could not be unconnected to unresolved allegations of anti-party activities leveled against the trio by their party, the All Progressives Congress ( APC).

Politics / "The Irony Of Political Fortunes: Omisore, Aregbesola, And The Unpredictability by yakdat91(m): 10:52pm On Jun 13, 2023
"The Irony of Political Fortunes: Omisore, Aregbesola, and the Unpredictability of Life"

Ogbeni Yakubu Atanda

The irony of life can be both captivating and surprising. One such example is the political trajectories of Senator Iyiola Omisore and Aregbesola, which have taken unexpected turns. Few would have anticipated that Aregbesola would retire from politics before Senator Omisore, given their respective positions and circumstances. Such is the unpredictable nature of life.

Senator Omisore demonstrated unwavering dedication in his efforts to support Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's presidential aspirations. He worked tirelessly, leaving no stone unturned, to ensure Tinubu's success in becoming the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. On the other hand, Aregbesola, who held the second highest position under Tinubu, appeared to be conspiring against his benefactor.

Alongside his "Ice Cream boys," Aregbesola was seen throughout the state praying for Tinubu's downfall, hoping that divine intervention would prevent him from assuming the presidency. Aregbesola's lack of support for his own party during the presidential election was a clear reflection of his disloyalty.

What truly delighted me was witnessing President Bola Tinubu acknowledge Senator Iyiola Omisore in his acceptance speech at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, where he was announced as the President-elect of Nigeria. It was a moment that made me ponder the absence of Aregbesola, who had long regarded Tinubu as his "god on earth."

In life, it is crucial not to overestimate oneself beyond one's actual capabilities. Aregbesola had boasted of being as influential in Osun as he was in Lagos. However, the reality is quite different now. Currently, both former governor Adegboye Oyetola and Senator Omisore wield significant influence, both locally in Osun and at the national level. This stands in stark contrast to Aregbesola's claim, which has been proven false.

In conclusion, life has a way of presenting us with unforeseen twists and turns. The political journeys of Senator Omisore and Aregbesola exemplify this irony. It serves as a reminder that one should not elevate themselves beyond their actual stature, as the dynamics of power and influence can shift unexpectedly.

Politics / Osun: Time To Halt Dubious And Fraudulent Attitude To Governance Is Now! by yakdat91(m): 10:20am On Apr 08, 2023
By: Ismahil Omipidan

Today is not about long turenci . It is to put the public in Osun and beyond on notice that what His Excellency, Adegboyega Oyetola, said in the build-up to the 2022 July governorship election is already playing out.

Oyetola had warned his fellow contenders then not to play politics with people's lives by promising what was practically impossible considering the fragile Osun economy. But not many listened, including the then PDP candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, who promised to clear arrears of half salaries owed by the Aregbesola's government in 100 days.

Senator Ademola Adeleke was declared winner of the election on July 17.

Shortly after his declaration, he inaugurated his transition committee. One of the 18-Terms of Reference of the committee is to propose actionable agenda for the new administration in the first 100 days, one year and subsequent years. From there, I knew they were not prepared for governance. I said so in my encounter with the Chairman of the committee, Dr. Muyiwa Oladimeji, on radio the next day.

Three months after, I appear to have been vindicated. First, they have not been able to clear the arrears, contrary to their claim in the media that they have cleared the 30 months arrears. Fraudulent and dubious claim number One. Contrary to their claim as well, Oyetola also paid from the half salary arrears but to the non active workers since the active workers were getting their current salaries in full as and when due.

Dubious and fraudulent claim Number two: They claim to have completed Osogbo -Ikirun-Ila Odo road, up to Kwara boundary. The Adeleke government only laid asphalt on the over 75 percent of the road work done by Oyetola, and even at that the road work has not gone beyond Ikirun.

Governor Ademola Adeleke should explain to the world how his release of 500 million naira will begin a 10km road and complete same under one month.

Dubious and fraudulent claim Number Three: They claim to have renovated schools and Primary Health Centers across the 332 Wards of the state. Yet, till this morning, they are yet to provide pictorial evidences of these projects.

Dubious and fraudulent claim Number Four: They claim that their boreholes are located in all 332 wards of the State. But so far only two or three pictures are being circulated several days after marking their 100 days in office with fanfare.

Dubious and fraudulent claim Number Five: They claim that their free train ride brought to the state 650 holidaymakers on Thursday night. This is the most bizarre of all their claims as they went a step further to clone a story content (see pictures attached), published in the Guardian of May 16, 2021 about how beneficiaries of the Oyetola's free train ride felt after being transported home free to celebrate with their loved ones and passed same as the report from their "Imole Free Train Ride." The only video they posted to show a train arrived Freedom Park on Thursday, April 6, 2023, only had some government officials and aides of the governor granting interviews as so called passengers on the so called train. In all, those in that video are less than 20. Yet, they claim they brought in 650 holidaymakers.

Dubious and fraudulent claim Number Six: Twice, Governor Ademola Adeleke was attacked in Ikirun by their own political thugs, the latest being on March 14, 2023. They denied it claiming it never happened. But they have arraigned the thugs in court and among the charges against them was: "That you did conduct yourselves in a manner likely to cause breach of public peace by throwing sachet water and stones at the convoy of Osun State Governor and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 249(d) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002."

Logically, a government that came in without an idea of what it wants to do will continue to falter and lie to the public to cover for its ineptitude, incompetence and dubious tendencies as getting empirical evidences to back up their dubious and fraudulent claims will continue to remain a daunting task for them. I rest my case for now.

Politics / Osun Former Commissioner Omowaiye Distributes Free Fuel To Motorcycles In Ilesa by yakdat91(m): 9:38pm On Feb 04, 2023
In a bid to arrest the unbearable hardship experienced by commuters in Ilesa metropolis owing to the fuel scarcity, concerned stakeholders within the ancient town have called for calm, peace from residents, assuring that the situation will soon be resolved.

Spokesperson of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Osun, Engr Oluremi Omowaye gave the assurance in a statement issued this evening. Engr. Omowaiye, who had facilitated free distribution of fuel to Commercial Motorcyclists said he made the move to ameliorate the suffering the riders are going through by sourcing for it from neigbhouring towns, due to unavailability of petrol by filling stations in Ilesa.

The immediate past Osun commissioner for works and Transport said the Presidential candidate of APC in the forthcoming February 25th election, Asiwaju has promised to tackle all bottlenecks and unresolved encumbrances in the oil sector to ensure availability and affordability when he assumes office by God's grace, we believe him and that's why I'm doing this as his disciple to preach his gospel, using this avenue to canvass for support for him.

Engineer Omowaye said the free fuel distribution which took place under strict supervision of security agencies and safety agencies where over four hundred motorcyclists benefitted from the gesture has no political undertone, adding that he has been doing same in the past.

He used the opportunity to appeal to independent marketers and filling station owners in Ilesa to reopen for business, while we continue to appeal to the FG, "Ilesa case is so peculiar such that okada riders demonstrated three days ago, and all filling stations remained under lock and key which heightened the scarcity, I have to set mercenaries in motion to source for petrol in a neighbouring town to achieve the free distribution we are doing today", he said.

Also speaking, an opinion leader in Ilesa, Barrister Femi Onigbogi sued for peace saying the issue will soon be a thing of the past very soon.

Appreciating the gesture, the Osun state chairman of Motorcycle Transport Union of Nigeria (MTUN), Comrade Adebayo Tajudeen thanked Engr Omowaye for his usual support for commercial motorcyclists and called on them to always remain law abiding.

Meanwhile, Engr. Omowaiye has said it will be the turn of tricycle operators tomorrow while another tranche of motorcyclists will benefit on Monday.

Education / Open Letter To Mr. Kola Christwealth Sniit Polytechnic by yakdat91(m): 2:13pm On Jul 04, 2017
OPEN LETTER TO MR KOLA CHRISTWEALTH
FROM A FRUSTRATED STUDENT OF SNIIT POLYTECHNIC IFEWARA
2014/2015 SET

Dear sir
*WHO IS THE REAL CRIMINAL TO BE PUNISHED AND WHY ARE WE PAYING FOR THE DAMAGES OF YOUR PROPERTIES?*

I am writing this to you to let you know that all fingers are not equal and if you think by extorting money from student is the best you can do before you can pay your staffs, I will call that act as immature decision.
I have no apology to tender in saying this that You (Mr. Kola Christwealth) was the major cause of what happened to the SNIIT POLYTECHNIC because of your statement at the so called town hall meeting where a statement was made by you that Some of the management courses even all the courses that’s been offered by the Management department of SNIIT POLYTECHNIC has not been fully accredited and with that SNIIT POLYTECHNIC will be giving them Diploma certificate (Not National Diploma) after spending good two years and paying that huge amount into the school pulse.

If they had known that SNIIT POLYTECHNIC courses has not been accredited as you claimed did you think anybody will come and waste his/her precious time and money in your school?

The sorrow state of welfare of students coupled with the criminal fee that you tyrannically imposed on innocent students has made me to conclude with no doubt that SNIIT POLYTECHNIC is nothing but Money making machine. Reality has shown that the IT Fee & Final Result Fee for 2014/2015 set increment, which you masterminded was nothing but an exploitative fraudulent act.

Although nobody will ever pray for his/her loss of properties but we also know in our various school of taught that anything can happen to anybody at anytime that is why what happened to SNIIT POLYTECHNIC on 21st of February 2015 should not be a thing of surprise to you. Accept our apology for the incident.

So sir why are we paying N30,000 for IT letter and N40,000 for our final result?

These are the questions our lecturers in SNIIT POLYTECHNIC has not been able to answer but I think you are in the best position give us the reasonable and genuine answer to that.

You should at least consider the current economy downturn in the country, some of our classmate that even came from eastern part of the country where they even rely on oil money are also lamenting about the current economy many of them are still at Ifewara due to absence of fund from their parents pulse and they have no choice than to stay back in the environment of the school with the hope that when the result is out they would be able to collect it and use it to work but now you have killed the hope of those innocent children.

It is vivid that you are not concern about the welfare of students but that of yours and members of your administration.

No wonder you promised that you will build toilet and provide drinkable water into the school campus and you didn’t do it before we graduated.

Although some of the students claimed that we are paying that outrageous amount for IT in other to cover the damages that happened during the satanic demonstration of some aggrieved students which led to the raising down of the whole buildings and properties of the school.

But I will never agree to the IT fees as the complementary to the damage fee because I won’t expect someone like you with your Education, Exposure, Local and International connections will not have insured your properties in anyway or the other.

And according to research before I made this submission there are two type of insurance which I believed you must have done to secure the very called SNIIT POLYTECHNIC

1. Fire insurance: covers damage or loss to a property because of fire. It is a specific form of insurance in addition to homeowner's or property insurance, and it covers the cost of replacement and repair or reconstruction above what the property insurance policy covers.

2. Property Insurance: is a policy that provides financial reimbursement to the owner or renter of a structure and its contents, in the event of damage or theft.

Sir our parents are not daft before they sent us to study in Sniit polytechnic and you shouldn’t because of that seeing us as your money making machine, and if you are expecting that we should pay that wicked amount for our Result and IT, I will suggest you should hold it to yourself because it’s of no use to some of us anymore while many has been offered an admission into another University or Polytechnic before when many of us paid school fees with the sweat of our parents and at the end of the day you came to the school to tell those offering management courses that all their courses have not been accredited and you expect them to just chill or not saying anything which I believed that brought out the satanic incident.

Incase you don’t know Sniit polytechnic is not worth to be called tertiary institution but a group of dubious people headed by Mr. Christwealth, Yes I have no apology to tender for that statement because I know you have Sons and daughters in different universities or polytechnic, now how would you feel if you dare visit your child in her/his school one day and while strolling around the campus you were pressed and you need to use the school restroom and your son said we don’t have toilet nor restroom in the campus, and you have been paying for developmental fee everymonth.

Another instance is while visiting your child in campus one of your colleagues at work said he just sent you a mail that you need to access immediately and you are with your child on the campus now you need to to use the school ICT center but you still not able to use it because your child said they have no ICT center in their school but the school is called “Innovation and Technology Institute” and he has been collecting money for ICT and Reserch every semester from you How would you feel?

You did not renovate the hostels, you did not build new ones yet you admit more than enough students every semester just to make more money.

Honestly sir who is the real criminal to be punished? Innocent students or Sniit management?

Aside the infectious living condition on campus, the learning condition is nothing to write home about.

The deplorable state of the lecture room is a manifestation of the negligence of yours.

The major lecture room (Awolowo Hall) has been condemned ; the one we managed before we graduated most of the seats were missing like an aged man's teeth.

Students are left with no choice than to sit on the floor in most cases. And I am sure Learning is not like this in every other private polytechnic.

Aside the bad state of the existing lecture room. Our Laboratory are as dry as desert with nothing for students to study with, even the library is nothing but a photocopy point because there is no book and we claimed we had E-Library, E-Library that doesn’t have a single working PC.

After the incident so many people came to our rescue including government and by the rumor Pastor EA Adeboye also came to your rescue over the school and I believed you have been helped in one way or the other even if it is not going to be of standard of what you have spent to the school.

And mind you I can categorically say this that 2014/2015 set were the set that brought SNIIT POLYTECHNIC into the lime light because of our love for the school and loyalty for our lecturers.

We used our personal money to do different projects for the school ranging from First and second Billboard, Another billboard along Ife-Ifewara road, Another billboard along Ilesa road, Construction Radio and Television studio and Main gate Signboard and you’ve never for once commend us for that.

Sir I am stiil saying that this heavy duty should not be imposed on children of the struggling masses because what have you done to the horrible condition of hostels and lecture rooms in the school since the bad event of that of 21st February 2015?

This has shown that the the outrageous fees that left many hopes shattered is not just criminal, and cannot be justified by any shred of reason.

Have you even ever been informed that we students pays for fuel before we can receive lecture in Sniit poly? If we are to sum all the miscellaneous money we have spent so far in sniit poly I am very sure you will not say we should singularly pay for the IT or Result.

I will be concluding by stating it emphatically that the fight against the outrageous fee of IT letter and Final result fee, poor welfare condition and negligence etc goes beyond these, it is a fight against oppression, victimization and exploitation, it is a fight for justice, a fight for the truth, it is a fight for all.
