@Hafeez89
Thank u for your post. Firstly, God Almighty will grant us all study permit and renewal of study permit(we still dey hustle that one too) . Amen. If it comes out as though am bragging, please I don't mean it to be that at all (all my friends can attest to that). At the very end, God is the only one that grant favours it's not by our own making or perfection.
Why I may not sound too friendly to Kofoironic was because of 2 reasons.

Firstly, he was telling someone(tysamuel) off for asking question(u can check my comment where I quoted him). He tasted his own medicine and he doesn't like it.

Secondly, we all know it's not easy securing visa/RP but even in the midst of our perceived "propaganda", how do we do our own best(mentally and financially, its draining). My pointing about my case was not to brag(not one bit) but to let Kofoironic know that the issue might be with his application(kindly note that the outcome can and hopefully will still come out positive despite the delay. We all would love to get decision quick so that we can move on to other phase of our life). Another Nigerian came in here too and went he to interview the same period. But most of us (me included) like to blame negative outcome on propaganda/something/someone while taking the positive outcome as a result of our handiwork. Why not see if there is anything you can/should have done differently (that was just my suggestion in that post). I have failed in some of my endeavours but I was brought up in such a way not to look for excuses but solutions. And if I think I've done my absolute best and it's not working out, then I move on. I pointed out a few things I "think" (I don't know for certain) will help our future application but so many people choose to see another thing. When I was preparing my application, I disturbed two persons on this group (I have never claimed to know it all) and through their guidance God granted me RP).

Thank you for pointing this out, apparently "ours cases are different" . I'm in no way blaming Migri for their decision.

Am so sorry for the outcome Bro... God knows best and will perfect your footstep.
Don't let the circumstance deter you. If it's your ambition to come here, you will definitely come. Be persistent and you will grow out of it and conquer it.

nigerians get little power and start acting god. what an insensitive post.
the fact that you got your residence permit on time means you are now an expert when it comes to application, right? such an unfortunate thing to say.
if you could say all this just because of a year B permit, only God knows how condescending you'll be when you become a citizen.
God help you

You got it all wrong Sirkezman. I've never said it's by my own power and am not acting god in any way. Neither did I do anything out of the ordinary.
I read through few post where people think that there some kind of propaganda by Finnish(maybe true or not) to not grant them visa and am pointing out that we do all that is within our own means to provide all the things needed so that they don't find any loophole to deny us visa(or do u want me to encourage them to do the opposite?). If we don't do that, it's going to be us at their own mercy. God works miracle but am just encouraging us to do our own part too.
Also I did some suggestions but we all chose to read other things. Tell me what I said exactly that is not true or how is it me playing god or condescending?

I used a sponsor. I submitted some docs available at the time but not all.

And this is a classical example with regards to my earlier post.

"I submitted some docs available at the time but not all." This "could" mean means NeeYoh did not submit ALL the documents needed.

When your application to study here starts taking long despite having scholarship, it simply means you did not package it well. It might take long (some are still positive) bc the outcome variables rest on their hand if they are convinced. But if you package your application well, their hands are forced to give u whether they like it or not.

Thirdly and most importantly, if you are using a sponsor, your chances are like 50-50. There are so many documents and loopholes migri can exploit to deny you and you might get confused on what to present. The best way still remains self sponsor.

You dey hear word ni? If you like no help yourself by reading up... I am telling you that applications since June have not gotten decisions due to some propaganda going on in Migri. They make us from 3rd world countries wait for months (5 months or more, ask Phrantad, he waited for almost a year) while those from 'good' countries get a decision in 3 weeks.

You dey here dey ask people about schools like say Google no dey, like say the reason why this thread long reach 290 na because we dey talk about egusi soup. Abi na only you waka come ni? All the answers you Seek are on this thread. Read, Oga.

My brother you are entitled to your own opinion(U might be right and u might be wrong) but it's always good to investigate before making any rash conclusion.
Most time we are very quick to shift the blames on other people instead of accepting our mistake and looking for a way to better the situation. We all are not perfect even the white men (which even professors here will openly accept to not been sure in so many classes I've attended here).

You said most people(abi u?) applied since June and haven't gotten response up till now. Why not ask yourself, was there anything I did wrong? Is there a way I could make it right? Did anyone apply during this period and have gotten a positive response from migri? What has such person done differently from mine?

PS: B4 throwing punches at me, I applied in June and within 3 "working days" I got my decision.

Please, if you package your application well and nothing looks shady and you provided all u need to provide, Finnish are very sincere. They will response to you in record time.

Sorry for the long post. Just my candid opinion (which you are free not to agree to.

I'm just wondering,, why would such a country be as boring as that..I would have adviced you guys to spice up the cities as per Nigerians wey una be just the same way some of my friends in U.S do, but after reading all the comments from Nigerians in Finn on this thread, I realised that the Finns no go even send una.

Such boredom can kill someone oo. Little wonder you went to watch lesbians make out.

We have very good Nigerian community where am staying, but most of them dey form busy(money comes 1st here for most people) and I don't blame them. Bills have to be paid.

The Finns don't send anybody(even their fellow finnish) except they know u very well. That is if u are their close friend. Some of their ladies like black guys too. Them admire wetin we carry...lolz

And that's the major reason why I left Finland four years ago. It's not just about the introverted people, but also the winter, darkness and geographical isolation. The country is so big that everything is just far away. And to leave the country by air is so damn expensive, and almost no direct flight.

For an average Nigerian, Finland and largely Scandinavian countries will be hell to live permanently.

Hmmm all those comments scares me cos I applied for fin visa already .no way I can spend €50 on a meal outside when it's not amala.u are right bout USA even d poor eat good food as just a rich dude.my 5 years in sandiego while schooling I also had fun no boring life.now u all are making me fear Finns ooo.true now I can tell many don't like going for dere visa cos of cold, expensive, boring n very far.. U mean no direct flight from LOS Lagos?

It could be quite boring here in Finland(as someone that goes out quite a lot in naija) ...
The only time I had fun(I have been here 2 months +) was seeing two girls make out on the dance floor in a night club.
I just arrange seat start to the watch better LIVE "X rated video" on the dance floor. After I clean nyash and went home drunk.

Please how long, from ur interview date, did it take for you to get the RP?

Went to embassy on 13th June, and due to public holidays, they requested for supplementary on 19th June. After few days, I submitted the supplementary and was granted RP the next day.

Mine was really fast that it amazes me even now.

Ok, how did the interview go? What questions were asked? Your supplementary docs to send is via the Migri eService right or Abuja?

Interview went well. Like I said earlier, be honest with them and most questions are from ur OPE_1 form.
Supplementary is sent to migri eservice.
Know ur course module, where ur school is located, name of ur school, why Finland, where will the degree earned be used in the future, etc.
I do not have all the questions but it's sth that u can relate to.
Be honest when u are asked if u have been denied visa b4. Also if u are self sponsor like me, be ready to explain most large sum of money paid into ur account.

I wish u all the best.
When is ur appointment wit the embassy?

I haven't been interviewed yet, just scheduled an appointment.

I went for interview on 13/6/2018 and due to the public holiday, they replied me on 19/6/2018, requesting for supplementary documents(bank stuff and the rest). There is nothing much abt the interview. Just questions from ur OPE_1 for. And please be very HONEST with them.

I still dey do lazy to send am give them cuz my deadline is still far. Plus am waiting for sth too.

Hey guys!!
First time commenting here.
Would really want to thank all those that have contributed to this forum(I've been a silent reader for close to a year now). The info I got here is immeasurable. I commend u guys.

So I would like to know if anybody else have received an offer of admission from any University in Finland(I did today, plus the extra bonus of a scholarship. Thanks to the useful info and tips I got from this forum).
Will soon commence applying 4 visa after sourcing 4 funds(approx. 7,000 euros). Guess I will start reading from page one again to get info on RP. lolz

I thank God and I thank you all 4 ur contribution's.
Remain blessed.
