Dear all, Good evening

I'm in need of a vehicle for rentals.

I can do weekly remittance of 25k (God willing) and handle minimal repairs if need be. I live on the mainland.

Any Owner-partners willing to take a chance on a newbie, Kindly quote this post or reach me on 080.650.850.28 abeg.

I look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership.

Good morning all,

A gentle reminder that I'm still in dire need of a vehicle for rentals. I really do need one to complete my account setup and ultimately earn some money.

Hopefully I'll be eligible for Bolt/Sterling Bank's vehicle finance scheme soon as it goes live. That way I'll be able to return your car in good condition.

My contact number remains unchanged - 080.650.850.28

Many thanks

Still a good deal.

I agree. But only for people who can afford the 15% equity deposit.

It's obviously financed by Sterling bank and that's the least you'll find in the market. Most financial institutions require atleast 30 -50% deposit for vehicle financing.

But like @IFSHR indicated, if the weekly upfront deposit option is available, e go make sense.

Good afternoon! Did either of you eventually attend the interview? If you did, please do let me know as I got an invite for a CSR role

So I did attend the interview. NCT is on the 3rd floor of the building directly opposite the Ikeja local Government as described in the invite.

They are an outsourcing firm that recruits for third party companies/firms. The interview was very brief. I'd expect that the third party company would do a thorough one if selected.

Lest I forget, the lady did mention that if you do get an offer, they are entitled to 50% of your first salary.

I hope this helps.

See time I dey enter house all in d name of netting 100k, how many weeks/months can u go like this and next week someone will flaunt dashboard without adding d stress&suffer.

Greetings chief,

Thank you for the bolded.

I'm a little indifferent about posting dashboards anyway.

But i just thought it'll be fair also note that there aren't alot of jobs here in Lagos with fairly good pay that won't put you under stress or some degree of suffering as you call it. If you know any, please do mention, i'd really like to hear it.

Not even the Customer care representatives you mentioned prior. I assure you that majority are contract staff with very minimal or no career growth atall. Monthly earnings ranging from 60 - 100k.

If you deduct cost of transportation and feeding finish, you go see sai na small thing remain.

We are all in a bleeping rat race.

How to Know problematic vehicles

Answer: Get a professional to Inspect before buying.

I will just add to what Felicity001 already hinted.

Problematic Vehicles
There are some vehicles that are straight up from hell, and assembled by the devil and his cohorts, there is really nothing you can do to salvage their manufacture errors.

Then there is the class that became bad due to usage, abuse, flooded, or leaden with electrical issues.

The above fall under the class of great vehicles that could turn out bad.

Your choice of vehicle is good, or rather great.

So how do you avoid buying a problematic one.
You are Either buying Nigerian Used, or Foreign Used

Things to Look out for

For Nigerian Used.

1. Abuse.

Abused vehicle turn out to be problematic, as much as possible, avoid them.

Pointers of Abuse.
1. Switch on the ignition, do not start the vehicle.

Is the fan on. If it is, one abuse out of many:
If you can, avoid buying this type.

2. Open the oil cap.
If the sludge build up is obvious and thick enough like butter from fridge. Avoid.

3. This might be hard to come bye, but if you look enough, you will find. Open the radiator cover. Water or Coolant? If inside the radiator looks brownish. Avoid[/b]

4. Start the vehicle, let it run. Lights on the dash like it is Christmas. Abs, Vsc, check engine, Airbag, everything just full the cluster. Avoid.

5. Open the Bonnet: If you see wires flying around, plenty cut cut, join join, tape tape. Wahala

The kind of problems you dont want to inherit.

1. Accidented vehicles that has compromised structural integrity.

How do you know, not a hard rule.

- Look at tyres. Do you have uneven wears.

- With a eye view. Does the alignment seem right.

*****There is nothing wrong in buying a freshly painted Nigerian used vehicle. often times, the seller is trying to hide something. *****
And here is the logic, why do you want to spend extra on a paint job for a vehicle you want to sell.

As much as possible, stick with first body.

You can replace engine, transmission, bad interiors. But a vehicle wey don wor. Nna. Avoid.

Avoid vehicles with rust. The problem no dey finish.

Hard rule, if i see a vehicle that is freshly painted, and it is Nigerian used, i wouldn't even assess it twice.

******Smoking Engine.
Check the smoke from the exhaust, blue, black smoke. Avoid.

*******Bad Transmission.
Depending on how much they are offering for the vehicle. Knowing you have a bad transmission or engine puts ahead and bargaining right.

For the transmission: Check the fluid: If it looks fresh. Like they just changed it.

Hard rule! Dont buy.

A diagnosis can also reveal if there is a transmission fault.

To really test a vehicle and be sure it the gear is good. Request for a test drive, fuel enough. Drive from Iyanaba to Ikorodu.

Most transmission shift problems are only noticed when the car is hot, and well driven

For the Engine.
The engine oil. Check the dipstick. If it is fresh, and they just did an oil change.

My hard rule. Suspicion. What are they hiding?

Noise.
Noise on start up, avoid. Continuous tappet valve noise from the top.

Great if engine has not been opened before. Major repair like a gasket change.

The Cars Booth.
The Nigerian vehicles booth reveals a lot about a vehicle and the problem the current owner is battling with.

Transmission fluid cans, brake fluid, replaced fuel pumps, bad alternator belts in the booth are tell tale sign of a problematic vehicle. Fuel jerry cans, coolant ......

Yes. I dont expect the booth to be empty, and squeaky clean. If it is, i know i am dealing with a pro.

Buying from direct owners is the best Bet. There is nothing wrong in buying from a dealer. But direct owners are not sales men. You will have some that are honest enough to tell you why they are selling.

Avoid Stolen Vehicles:
If you are buying from direct owner, ensure name on paper is the same with account you are paying to.

Verify Documents
Easy, like always do, call up my contact. If details dont tally. Run.

Maybe there is need to do a post on what constitute complete papers, if browse car talk enough. You will find enough info.

Do a vin check

Get a professional to Inspect before buying.

Well, if you can follow the above, you are also pro

Note: Whatever is bad in a vehicle can be fixed. Some can cost you your sanity. Theres really no car fault that does not have a fix

Phew! It's amazing the amount of knowledge/tricks and advisory that can be harnessed from this single thread.

This has easily become one of my favorites in all of Nairaland forum. I can tell for a fact there are way more spectators than active participants.

I just want to use this medium to quickly appreciate Kanu, Feli, pope, dru, bishop, pope, chillex, Dmechy and Mama Rad, eyinola, Baz, Ghost, Deedee to name a few.

My first day on ehailing, I took someone to a hotel. I was to wait for him and take him back to the hotel I picked him. While I was waiting, I got a 1.7 surge request and just allowed it ring out. I was even wondering why bolt was giving me a trip when I wasn't done with the current one.

Imagine say na now grin. Even if I agree to wait and take you back, the moment that surge trip came in, I'm ending that trip.

Infact, anytime I'm waiting for a rider at a stop, I'm always checking my rider app to see if there's surge in that location grin.

Quick question chief... is there any implication for launching the rider app while the driver app is still active? Even without necessarily proceeding to book a ride.

Which bank be that? o wrong.

Somebody mistakenly transferred money to my account, i was told by the bank that they cant reverse until i give consent and i have to sign/authorise it.

The money was there for a long time because i cant see it in my balance though.....apparently blocked and I didnt av time to enter banking hall purposely to go and rectify somebody's error.

This is more likely to be correct.

In my little experience as a CSR for a commercial bank, I can confirm that erroneously transferred funds would remain earmarked in the wrongly credited account pending authorization/investigations.

I'm not sure any bank has the right to forcefully debit your account except in the case of a defaulted loan facility or fraud .

Thank you for your reply, how can I effect the arrangement? I'm naive in this regard.

Chief! I presume you'd have to visit one of their centers closest to you with the original slip issued during registration and supporting documents.

I think modifications (excluding DOB) is N500 per field. Payment is made via Remitta too.

After payment is sorted, you may then take the receipt capturing RRR and other documents to the center. You may be asked to recapture.

Again, I have no affliation whatsoever. But this is from all the info I gathered from the website.

Please see link below should you need more clarification:

Is it mandatory to pay for the arrangement of name Eg. Seun Osewa Pablo(NIN) whilst NIMC carries Pablo Osewa Seun?

I just saw this sorry. While I can't confirm if it's mandatory or not, I'll strongly recommend you resolve any discrepancies between the name arrangements on both NIN and NIMC.

In the example you referenced, we fit argue sai na two entirely different persons dem be, since the surnames become changed by virtue of the arrangements.

This is off topic but I guess I can get some help here.

How do I connect my home theatre to the decoder to make the voice signal come out from the home theatre.

As it stands, the connection is HDMI cable from Decoder to TV. No idea how to loop the home theatre.

What I have on ground is a single AV chord and another HDMI cable.

Greetings chief.
1. Connect the Red and white Audio cords to the Home theatre and Decoder.
2. Connect HDMI from Decoder to TV.
2. Turn on and select the AUX mode on the Home theatre for audio
3. On the TV remote, select HDMI to display contents from Decoder .

Ps: Settings/labels may vary depending on the brand.

Nigerians and betrayal are like 5 and 6, most of this drivers will still on their apps on Monday, dat why the country will remain backward becoz dey only think of the present not the future, after eating the present there will be nothing left for the future.
Question we should be asking lagos state govt is why so many levies on the drivers, there is lasdri, hackney nd now 2 more only in lagos alone.
Uber and bolt should either reduce their commissions or all drivers should look for a way of coming together and reason as one by find a way of creating a new similar app that will rival both bolt and uber with less commission.

Distinguished sir, You don talk am finish. Can't blame them though. People on HP/rentals need to be on the road as much as possible to meet up with their respective targets.
