Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Yeezy24: 1:51am On Aug 11
Hi everyone, I was denied today.

Main reason from the interview is that my brother is also in the US at the same school.

Strangely, the VO asked me to do biometrics again before handling me the blue paper. I’ve been worried about the second biometrics.

What does this mean please, or nothing to worry about?

Thank you in advance.

House34:

Please note that IRCC is currently processing student permits and family visitor visas for student applicants independently, which can take around 4 to 6 months, similar to regular visitor visa applications.
I know of a family who experienced a similar situation. Their application took 5 months to process, resulting in the approval of the two children's visas, but the father's application was denied. Since the wife is a 1-year diploma student, the children's visas were only granted until the end of her program date. The father has reapplied, and we hope his application will be successful this time.

Thank you so much for this info. Please do you know what reason was given for the father's denial? My program is 2 years diploma.

Hi Everyone,

I applied for study permit and VV for spouse and children.

My Study permit is approved, family VV’s are still pending.

Please has anyone faced this scenario. I know it might take a while, I just want to know how long it takes based on others’ experience.

Thank you in advance.

SOPWriter:

There's no cause for alarm, Yeezy24. Your case is common for family members' applications evaluated independently based on their merits and processing timelines.

Please be patient; their decisions will be out soon. However, if you're running out of time, a reminder email to IRCC wouldn't hurt.

Congratulations on your approval, and I wish your family good luck with their applications!

Thank you SOPWriter. Really appreciate.

Do you know if their VV will be faster than the 6 moths VV is currently processing for. I was hoping applying together would make it faster, but now I’m feeling it might be the same as applying separately.
