Please what course did you apply for and when did you get admission? oppemipo: Hello gurus,
I have secured a fully funded program at the USASK, 38,000CAD for the duration of 2yrs. My tuition fee is 8,095 CAD/yr, I also have 3.7m (about 11,000 CAD) in my Savings account for my wife and daughter living and additional expenses in Canada. I have started my visa application but I wish to include my wife and 11 months old daughter. Can this fly, if I explain why I want my wife to follow me, our baby needs both parents at this stage of her life and leaving her and the mother could infringe on her right of access to parental care.
Please I need support on how I can package my application as I don't want to lose this opportunity. Thank you as you contribute. |

I assume you applied with your student transcript and now need to send your official transcript. I will suggest you wait if the deadline for the submission of the official transcript is not close. The strike may not be for long ( I saw 2 weeks warning somewhere). You can also try and contact an insider i.e someone who works in the transcript processing office. There should be provision for cases like this. My School's transcript office was working on selected days of the week during Nasu strike some years back mrlycan: Please I need help. I have about 3 admission on the table for Canada but the issue is my transcript. Uniben is on strike.. Non-teaching staff sef don join. I dont know what to do. Is there any way around this or I should just wait till i can apply for my transcrip...(maybe by then September Admission wont be possible. Please the experienced bosses here should help me out 1 Like |

Most supervisors would have gotten most of the students they want to supervise for September 2022. So if this year doesn't work out you can start sending mails early for 2023 instead. Just a suggestion. angel4sure: Good day my people. Hope your day is going well.
Pls why is it hard to get a supervisor in Canada schools for Masters. I have being writing to them yet no response. I earlier sent an email I sent to a supervisor on this thread and I was corrected in some areas of my email. I later revamped my mail and sent again, yet no response. I even used grammerly and depli checker to make sure my email was ok. Yet no response. Am just tired. I really need to leave this shit hole of a country, pls what can I do. I need to begin classes with the September batch, and Time is running out, but am yet to get a supervisor who has agreed to supervise me. Below is an email I sent to a supervisor 3days ago, pls is there anything wrong with this mail
Dear Dr. Andrea Kraj,
I am writing to express my interest in a master's degree position in your group. I hold a BS.c degree in Physics and Industrial Physics at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria with a Second Class CGPA of 65% (3.84 on a scale of 5.0). My undergraduate research was conducted on the Construction of a Solar box cooker, to convert Solar energy to heat energy in a confined space that was used to boil water. The study was commended as one of the best in the department.
To acquire more knowledge in the field of Solar energy, I got an industrial attachment as a Research Assistant at an Electronics development Institute (ELDI) and was posted to the Solar department. I worked alongside a Solar engineer and was involved in the construction of a solar phone charger, solar rechargeable lantern, solar information display, and solar inverters. Also, we carried out projects of mounting Solar panels (PV) for some homes, offices, and universities that were connected to batteries and inverters used to power their homes and offices due to power failure. I was later posted to the R& department and I researched other renewable energy sources.
I went through some of your research articles, and the area of research being pursued in your group is very interesting. Going through your website, what my eyes saw gladden my heart. Your project work on the installation of a 900 kW PV System in Nicaragua is what I desire to do for my community and different communities in my country as a woman.
During my industrial attachment, I was made to understand that being involved in the Renewable energy sector is a man's world, and I seek to change that mindset. I come from a developing country where electricity seems to be a luxury that can't get to everyone, most especially, remote communities and these communities have abundant renewable sources( Sun) wasting away. This lack of electricity has brought adverse effects to the community in terms of employment and education. I seek to be that solution my community needs. Your publication on "Smart Cities Begin With You", caught my attention and I will appreciate an opportunity to discuss potential research ideas that align with your area of interest.
I am confident that my investigative qualities, independence, creativity, critical thinking, analytics, team player, presentation, effective communication, self-motivated, flexibility and adaptability, organization, time management, and target-oriented would be an asset to your laboratory. Just to also let you know, I just subscribed to your podcast- FEMPOWER. I believe that one day, I will post my story and it's going to inspire a lady or ladies out there, that no matter their gender, they can go into the engineering field and do what the men are doing, even greater than them. Am also a member of STEM. I am enclosing my CV and TRANSCRIPT. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing positively from you, as I believe working under your supervision will bring my dream of "Being the Solution the world needs" to a reality.
Sincerely,
Okafor Onyinye Augusta.

Getting a prospective supervisor can be a bit challenging but you have to keep trying. From my little experience I think this cold mail is lengthy. I think your cgpa is low ( 65%) most schools want at least 70-75%. If you are not sure of the conversion to percentage, you can convert your cgpa to a 4 point cgpa for the supervisor to have a better grasp of your cgpa at first glance. More so, you can check for supervisors who specifically want students. I sent about 10 emails and got 2 favorable response. Just keep trying. angel4sure: Good day my people. Hope your day is going well.

To the best of my knowledge there is no initial deposit required. If you go through the website for your proposed course of study, I think you will get more inform. chigora:

Yeah, That's another thing to consider The course I applied for doesn't require that . Try and make all your findings from their site or by sending them an email so as to make an informed choice eniola1010:
i just checked their site, they are asking for gmat and gre. i will try to call them if they can wave it for a nigerian student 1 Like |

Hello From my own application experience you would have to pay application fee after which you will be redirected to the page to upload your supplemental documents. Chibexe: Hi Guys,
I just applied for University of Ottawa for winter(January 2023)
in the application portal, there was no space to upload documents, after filling all the required details, it took me to a tap to pay the application fee. i want to ask the house, is this how it should be?
secondly, i graduated in 2015(my first degree) and i also have my masters in university of Lagos, but i did not specify in my application that i have gotten my masters degree, so not to serve as a disadvantage in my application. will the study gap after my first degree affect my application?
Thanks
