Celebrities / Skales Shares New Photos Of Girlfriend On Instagram, Disables Comments by yemiola5991: 3:32pm On Sep 15, 2016
Skales doesn’t want Nigerians to badmouth his special moment with new lover, Ethiopian babe Leyla Konjo so he shared new photos of her late last night and disabled comments.

The photos were from their date night at Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The obviously drunk in love singer gushed that Leyla was the inspiration behind his new song and even showed off his new woman’s thighs, screamed fire. See the photo below.

Interesting to see how quick he’s moved on from longtime ex-girlfriend Sasay who went as far as fighting his battles, backing him up fearlessly during his face-off with Wizkid and haters sometime ago.

Sports / Conte: Let's Make Our Fans Proud by yemiola5991: 1:12pm On Jul 22, 2016
Antonio Conte says he and his players are determined to challenge for the title this season and everyone is working hard towards achieving that goal.

The new boss has had over a week with his squad now, during which time he has repeatedly expressed his satisfaction with his players’ efforts in these early days of pre-season. Looking forward to the upcoming Premier League campaign, Conte is clear about what he expects.

‘We must come back after a bad season, after the 10th place,’ he said.

‘We need to come back very soon in the right position because Chelsea is a great team in England and in the world, and it is right that we must come back to fight for the title.

‘I know it’s not simple because there are many strong teams in England, but I am confident because we are working and I see the players with a great identity.

‘The players want to come back very soon to fight for the title. For me this is the most important thing.’

Conte knows if Chelsea are to return to the top it will require an immense collective effort from everyone at the club.

‘Usually when there has been a bad season it means that there are many problems, not just with the players or the manager, but the past is not important for me or the players,’ Conte stressed.

‘What is important is the present, to work very hard all together. We know we have to fight together to come back to fight for the title. This is what the club wants, what the players want, what I want and what the fans want.

'It’s important we stay together and overcome this bad period for Chelsea and come back also to play the Champions League, because the Champions League is Chelsea’s home.

‘We know this and we are trying to work hard to come back very soon. I want our fans to be very proud of the players, of the manager and of the club. It’s very important.’

Music/Radio / Apple Opens Talks To Acquire Jay Z’s Tidal by yemiola5991: 10:03am On Jul 01, 2016
Apple is allegedly in talks to acquire Tidal, a streaming-music service run by rapper and business mogul Jay Z. Buying Tidal would give Apple Music one less competitor in the streaming music space.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the news came after various reports that Tidal has been shopping for potential buyers, including holding talks last year with Napster, the company formally called Rhapsody. According to unnamed sources, Apple is exploring the idea of bringing on Tidal to bolster its Apple Music service because of Tidal’s strong ties to popular artists such as Kanye West, Rihanna and Madonna.

Terms of the potential deal aren’t known.

Jay-Z bought the service in March 2015 for $56 million from Swedish company Aspiro. He launched the service under the brand Tidal a month later. He has given 19 famous artists and bands small stakes in Tidal and promised each millions of dollars worth of marketing, according to people familiar with the matter.

A Tidal spokesman said Tidal executives had not held talks with Apple.

Spotify still remains the largest service with 30 million subscribers.

Tidal, meanwhile, doubled its subscriber base in the last six months, from 1 million to just over 3 million, according to CEO Jeff Toig, largely on the strength of its artist exclusives with the likes of West and Beyonce

An Apple spokesman declined to comment. Tidal representatives have also kept mum about the supposedly on going talks.

Study finds women spend 17 minutes every day trying to choose an outfit

They spend 17 minutes every day, or four days a year, going through wardrobe
It’s a familiar scene for most women: staring at your wardrobe with mounting levels of panic about what to wear.

After rifling through – and rejecting – multiple items, it can seem like an age before you finally decide on an outfit.

So it may not come as a surprise that a study has found women spend almost six months of their working life deciding what to wear.

It means they spend almost 17 minutes a day, or four days a year, going through their wardrobe between 18 and 60.

Worries over what to wear can also cause ‘wardrobe rage’, with 62 per cent of women admitting to irrational tantrums as a result. Even men are not immune, with a third experiencing it – and one in five admitting they have thrown clothes around the room.

The poll of 2,000 men and women by Marks and Spencer found that 15 per cent of adults say outfit drama has often ruined their mood for the rest of the day.

Time spent on clothes choice means one in ten of us regularly arrive late to work, and one in 20 have missed an occasion altogether.

And 21 per cent of women admitted clothing struggles have caused them to row with a partner.

The study also found that although the average Briton’s wardrobe contains 152 items, just 44 per cent are worn regularly.

Technology Market / Gamevice Makes Your Iphone A Portable Gaming Power House by yemiola5991: 6:22pm On Jun 30, 2016
In the years since Apple introduced the specs for iPhone-compliant game controllers in 2013, you’ve had no shortage of options for adding buttons to your iOS bleep-bloop. Good options are another story.

Some controllers embraced Bluetooth. Others resembled Xbox controllers with a cradle for your phone. A few stumbled onto the best layout, adding the buttons and such to the sides and turning the iPhone into something akin to the PlayStation Vita. But most of them felt cheap or imprecise. The Gamevice controller gives the idea a sheen of quality.

You can get the Gamevice controller in iPhone, iPad mini, and iPad Air sizes, and the plastic construction doesn’t feel out of step with Apple’s anodized aesthetic. It offers four action buttons, a D-Pad, dual analog joysticks, and four front-triggers just like you favorite console controller. It connects to your iPhone with a Lightning connector, and recharges its 400mAh battery via microUSB. And it weighs about one-third of a pound, minimizing fatigue during epic sessions.

It ain’t cheap at $100, especially since you could always, you know, just use the on-screen controls. And you run the risk that the iPhone 7 expected this fall won’t fit. It’s compatible with over 800 games, which means it’s not compatible with many, many more games. You’ll want to download the Gamevice Live app first to make sure your favorites are on there.

If they are, and if you’re the type who wishes your phone were more like a Vita (it practically is, in terms of game quality) Gamevice deserves a look. For what it’s worth, it’s the only gaming controller in the Apple Store, which is a pretty big power-up. At the very least, it beats swiping your way through another lonely, thumb curling NBA Jam session.

Sports / Sunderland Ladies 0-5 Chelsea Ladies by yemiola5991: 10:16am On Jun 30, 2016
A dominant performance from the first whistle was rewarded with three goals in quick succession before the interval as Raff netted two goals from her new position as a left wing-back and Davison finished with aplomb. Precise strikes from Bright and Ji completed the scoring to secure a comfortable win for the Blues which moves us within two points of leaders Manchester City and with a game in hand.

The two sides met in the final game before the WSL's mid-season break, but it was a much-changed Chelsea line-up which took to the field at the Hetton Centre.

As well as four adjustments to the personnel, the Ladies also ditched their usual shape for a 3-5-2 formation. Bright and Jade Bailey came into the side to make up two thirds of the back three, along with Niamh Fahey, which took to the field in front of Hedvig Lindahl, with Gilly Flaherty and Hannah Blundell making way. A midfield trio of Katie Chapman, Karen Carney and Drew Spence, in for Eniola Aluko, were flanked by Ana Borges, who replaced Fran Kirby, absent with the injury she picked up on international duty, and Rafferty. Davison and Ji completed the starting 11.

The new system almost paid immediate dividends as Rafferty ghosted in at the back post to get on the end of Borges' deep cross after only three minutes, but she couldn't get enough behind her shot and Rachel Laws kept it out.

Clear-cut chances continued to come thick and fast in the early stages, with Ji smashing her shot over the bar when well placed and then, out of nothing, time seemed to stand still as Carney struck a low, right-footed shot which the keeper could only watch on helplessly as it hit the frame of the goal and rolled to safety.

Both Davison and Chapman also threatened to get on the scoresheet, but it was left to Rafferty to open the scoring with a quite brilliant goal. A well-time challenge by Borges won back the ball high up the pitch, but then it was all about the quality of Carney and the composure of our wing-back as a wonderful cross was superbly sent into the top corner by Raff's side-footed volley. Calmness personified and no less than the Blues deserved.

Sunderland's attacking play in the first half was largely restricted to finding Beth Mead early, but it almost paid off shortly before break as she somehow managed to get past Fahey only to smash her shot well over the bar. The missed chance would quickly come back to haunt her as Chelsea netted twice in quick succession.

Rafferty netted her second of the game after 41 minutes. While her first was the finish of a striker, this effort owed plenty to a poacher's instinct as she reacted quickest to Davison's shot being palmed away to finish into the same corner.

Two minutes later, Davison was sent scampering clear by Ji's pin-point through-ball which split the defence. From almost an identical position to her previous strike, the Blues No 7 sent a drilled finish into the far corner to give Chelsea a 3-0 lead. It was the least our superb attacking display deserved.

Sunderland replaced Roche with Ramshaw at the break, but the second half continued in much the same manner as the first – with Chelsea in the ascendancy. Borges twice got away down the right in the opening few minutes after the resumption; on the first occasion she squared to Carney for a shot just off target, but on the second she went it alone and poked the ball wide of the same post.

The Blues continued to dominate the ball without finding too many opportunities to threaten Laws' goal, although one fierce strike by Davison had the keeper scrambling across goal to claw the ball behind for a corner.

Containment was the name of the game for the visiting side in the second half, with a healthy lead to defend, but the odd chance continued to come our way. Chapman almost made it 4-0 with a tidy finish which Laws did well to turn away and then Spence immediately had an opportunity from the resulting corner, only to send her header off target.

It was the last action of the game for the midfielder, who made way soon after for Aluko, which was the second change by Hayes following Flaherty's introduction in place of Bailey. It was another defender, however, who was on target for the Blues next. Chapman turned on the edge of the box and it turned out to be a perfect pass for Bright, who curled a precise low shot past the goalkeeper at the near post.

Just as at the end of the first half, the goals came along like London buses and just moments later our lead had been extended to five. While there was to be no hat-trick for Rafferty, who made way for England, normal service was resumed by Ji as she jinked free inside the box before firing a left-footed shot into the far corner.

Carney came close to extending the lead with a trademark free-kick, but this time Laws was equal to it and we had to settle for a 5-0 victory which puts us on the heels of Man City.

The Blues return to action on Saturday with another away trip as we take on London Bees in the first round of the Continental Cup.

Sports / Mane Seals Transfer To Liverpool by yemiola5991: 10:19am On Jun 29, 2016
Liverpool have completed the signing of Sadio Mane from Southampton for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old Senegal forward, deployed as a winger or centrally off the main striker at St Mary’s Stadium, has agreed a long-term contract on Merseyside and will officially become a Liverpool player on 1 July.

“Today is a big day and I am very happy to sign for one of the biggest clubs in Europe,” Mane told liverpoolfc.com. “It’s a club that has won a lot of trophies and has a big history.”

Mane enjoyed two impressive seasons at Southampton in the Premier League, helping them to finish seventh and then sixth, after joining from Red Bull Salzburg in September 2014.

He scored 21 goals and provided nine assists in 67 appearances, including the fastest Premier League hat-trick, which he got in two minutes and 56 seconds against Aston Villa in May 2015.

Mane scored four times against Liverpool in 2015/16, three of which came in the league. His strike in the 1-1 draw at Anfield last term makes him the third player in as many seasons to swap Saints for Liverpool after scoring at their stadium, after Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne.

He is the third summer addition by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, after defender Joel Matip, from Schalke, and Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius.

Liverpool start their Premier League campaign away to Arsenal, scheduled for 13 August. Their first pre-season match is at Tranmere Rovers, on 8 July.

Science/Technology / New Device That Tells You When Its Going To Rain And Time To Wash Your Clothes by yemiola5991: 10:49pm On Jun 25, 2016
A ‘smart’ clothes peg has ensured that you’ll never get your washing wet ever again.

The revolutionary ‘Peggy’ sends an alert to your phone when it is about to rain as well as informing the best time to do your washing and estimating how long it will take to dry according to the weather.

Linked to a mobile phone app, the smart device sends a push-notification to alert users with any updates.

Peggy, which looks just like an ordinary clothes peg, uses a built-in thermometer to monitor changes in temperature.

Humidity and precipitation – including rain – are monitored with a humidity sensor and a built-in light sensor keeps track of UV sunlight.

Health / Benefits Of Vitamin A by yemiola5991: 11:17am On Jun 24, 2016
We may fail to realize this but Vitamin A is one of the vitamins that offer numerous benefits. We can obtain vitamin A from food sources like animal kidney and liver, fish liver oils, fruits and vegetables that are yellow orange in color like melon, orange, mango, peach, carrots, and others which contain beta carotene (one of the components of vitamin A), dairy products like milk, cheese cream, butter and eggs and certain green vegetables like broccoli, spinach and lettuce. Beta Carotene can be converted into Vitamin A when more supply is required by the body.

One of the foremost benefits of Vitamin A is in helping promote better vision and eyesight. Studies have indicated that despite the advancement in medical practices and technology, there is still a growing increase statistically when it comes to people getting blind. Deficiency of this vitamin would often lead to weak vision which in the long run may lead to complications and eventually blindness. It has been noted that most accidents that occur while driving especially at night are caused mainly by people not being able to see where they are going or having what you call night blindness. If night blindness is not addressed immediately it may lead to permanent blindness in the long run. Vitamin A has long been used to help prevent this and has helped in restoring vision for those whose cases are not advanced.

Vitamin A has also been reputed to help you attain naturally healthy skin and maintain good complexion. It helps your skin retain moisture, prevent from having blackheads and breakouts and aids in the treatment of pimples and acne as well as other skin ailments. Vitamin A even helps in delaying the aging process that is why it is an important ingredient in most anti-aging products.

But the most important benefit that Vitamin A could provide is that it contains properties that could work against the dreaded cancer. Vitamin A helps protect against lung cancer. There have been studies conducted and it shows that vitamin A does play an important role against this sickness.

It is advised though that you don't just prescribe by yourself to take any vitamin A supplement. It is best to consult a doctor for improper doses could be toxic for the body.

It is better to get enough vitamin A from healthy sources of it like fruits, vegetables and animal sources.

Education / OAU VC Pens Down Message On His First Day In Office To All Students, Colleagues by yemiola5991: 11:07am On Jun 24, 2016
This is a new message from the new Vice-Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU),Professor Ayobami Salami, as he assumes office today.

It reads,

"Dear colleagues, students and other stakeholders in the Great Ife Project, it gives me great joy to welcome you to the dawn of a new era as I assume office today (24th June 2016) as the new Vice Chancellor of this University.

I am not unmindful of the humongous challenges of my new responsibility as the 11th Vice-Chancellor of this great institution, especially within the context of our experience of the most recent past.

We cannot lose sight of the fact that it is a very trying period of our enviable history. Nonetheless, the work of moving our university to the next level must be done, as I pledged to do prior to my appointment. Let me make a clarion call on all stakeholders, including all staff, our alumni, friends, benefactors as well as all and sundry to join hands with this new administration which has pledged to be firm, just, equitable and independent in running the affairs of our institution.

If there are groups or individuals with any concern, this administration is ever ready to engage such constructively in a round-table so as to amicably resolve matters, instead of resorting to any self-help that may lead to disruptions and disturbances to members of the community. Let us all remember that this is our common heritage and whatever we do to promote, nurture, sabotage or destroy it will be documented for posterity.

Our university, as an enviable citadel of learning thrives on hybridization and cross-fertilization of ideas. In Ife, there is always and always will be space to think, express our views both in words and enlightened actions or else, we are not worthy of our name as a university. OAU is therefore, a freedom land where intellectualism must drive our differences and harmonise our energies for the sole purpose of enriching our students- the only reason for the existence of this university community.

This is no doubt, a noble time of courage, discipline and daring vision. However, our community cannot sacrifice two dynamics of freedom and academic progress: truth and discipline. It was Plato who said to Aristotle, “You are my friend but truth is my greater friend.” In a time when tertiary institutions like ours are competing with the ever-increasing but much newer universities, we must as a community shun untruth and embrace our opportunities. On the other hand indiscipline is neither a friend of truth nor progress. This is the time we must celebrate our values, uphold our principles and stick to our laws.

I know the time has come for a constant dialogue between the leadership and the community about our common interest and I shall practice that. I wish to assure everyone that yesterday is gone, and a new dawn is here! This is a University with great potentials that we must all agree to properly harness for the good of all. I once again pledge to work for the greater good of our great citadel of learning, and making the legitimate welfare of all stakeholders a priority.

The time-tested committee system of the university shall be upheld and the administration shall adopt an open door policy where anyone with any valuable contribution shall be welcomed.

I hereby appeal to all and sundry to join hands with me in a bid to move this institution to higher grounds. I envision this administration as the bridge between our past that we cherish and the future that we admire. As encapsulated in my Vision Statement, I am aware that history beckons on me as the new Vice-Chancellor not only to be able to sustain the gains of the past, but to also be able to capacitize the system for innovative strides at the onset of a new ‘decade’ in the annals of the governance of the University.

It is now my responsibility for the next 5 years to be a catalyst for change by demonstrating a genuine commitment to academic renaissance, re-invigorating the learning environment, staff and students’ welfare, networking and consensus building within the system. I must hasten to add that all these laudable objectives can only be achievable if we all join hands together to move our beloved institution forward.

It is my strong desire and hope that this new dawn will be remembered for progress, academic breakthroughs and our citizen’s great welfare. This requires that all hands must be on the deck and I, on my part, hereby extend my hand of friendship and reconciliation to everyone. I am determined to embrace this opportunity for service with singularity of purpose, majesty of the spirit and fidelity of intention. Individually we can make a difference but together we can make an impact.
God bless you."
