Dude, who is acting childishly?
So in your mind I'm a small person who needs to be guided. You are very funny. First of all nothing was aimed at you. Secondly, the information you gave then was wrong. Just so you know the people who got the mail for Germany are academically sound with top notch credentials. Your methodology is wrong. I get my info from PTDF ,not from nairaland. Thank you.
You were referring to him and that other dude that disagreed with your point. Before you abuse me, I was a PTDF MSc Local Scholar gunning for Overseas PhD scholarship.

All what you wrote are false. I know a lot of staff in PTDF as they visited my school and we exchange contacts. So stop bragging that you know all the staff and officials in PTDF.

Agreed with whom?

I still repeat it, you feel highly insecure about this recruitment of a thing. Not getting offer from DPR is not end of life. There are many better opportunities.

It also seems that you're afraid that you won't get any good job else.

Oooh, you're too big to argue with me? You don't even know me yet you have concluded to be bigger than me. Lmao

For your information, I'm not too small for you.

You can insult me as well.

Accountants in the house,

Try to know about the past civilian and military governors of your state,

Questions were asked with respect to your field, the questions not too difficult. About cost and management accounting, financial accounting and IFRS.

Also try to be conservant with the new development in your fields, it's very important.

I am not trying to be proud if I apeear to. But I hate cheats who doesn't deserve the job.

I am not referring to you dear.

I cherish your personality in this forum. I commend you all for agreeing to my suggestion that interview questions asked will not be posted in the forum.

After the interview phase, you are allowed to post the interview questions so the next prospective candidate can benefit.

When people were complaining against posting questions and answers on this platform in a competitive test, most of you insisted they were merely their brothers' keepers. Now some genuinely talented applicants have missed out due to the fact that cut-off marks must have been raised. This should serve as a lesson to those who are willing to learn. And to you my brother, it is not gentlemanly and sportsmanlike for you to spite people when they are down.

I am not criticizing nor mocking anyone. I am just saying the truth so that our country can move forward. If only you knew how many people here abused and criticized me for saying the truth. If only you knew. But one thing is sure, many have learnt from their mistakes.

UPDATE

Where are all those guys still having unrealistic belief that application portal closed means you are successful in your exam. Where are all those guys accusing us of being wicked and bad thinking we want to show off. Instead of them to accept the truth and work on themselves, they still believe in fantasy and religious miracle scams. All these nonsense belief psyche dont happen in the real realistic world. Most of u have been brainwashed since childhood.

Yes there is God and be religious. But don't be over- religious and an extremist.

We told you times upon times that it simply means you did not pass the test. Just move on. However, some people were being over-religious and unreasonable instead of being accountable of your actions, you still believe in miracle scams that they have been fed with since childhood.

INTERVIEW

Do not post the interview questions you were asked about. You can prepare now in the forum. But during interview time, don't post anything. Don't be fooled with all these over religious guys. They want to scam you for their benefit so they will succeed.

Most people didn't pass test because of these folks. They were busy spreading the test questions allowing those who genuinely merited it to lose out. Most of them also lost out.

Allow transparency. Allow merit to take place. Let the best win. Just as NLNG guys didn't post any interview questions, I expect you guys not to post any questions. We want competence. We want only those who deserve the job to get it. Not opportunist that will pass not because they have anything in their head but because they copied and practise from your sweat.

A word is enough for the wise. Good luck my people.

I agree to an extent because i know that having the right attitude over weighs paper qualifications but then it depends on the hiring practice of the organization. Also you should know that hiring outside of requirement is unprofessional, so if an MBA was not required, then why was it specified?
Most recruiting firms make their first judgement based on whats on the CV and i doubt if someone without proper credentials will make it through this stage.

And if i may ask, what makes you think the other person wont be a nice fit on the job or might have a bad attitude towards the job, because what you call boasting, to me i see as a display of self confidence......................... so to me, you made a good decision but not the best one.

Don't mind the stupid HR. He made a nonsense decision. He feels the overqualified will be a competitor thus hired a beautiful lady who he can boss and have his way.

These are the foolish HR who will be canvassing people to write certifications and other advanced qualification to boost one CV. Just because of the benefit you seek to get from the beautiful lady, you turn the table.

You have no values nonsense HR. If it were to be that the guy fumbled in his interview, then we can sense your irrational decision.

I HIRED a candidate who didn’t meet the educational requirements. She didn’t have an MBA.

Here’s why:

It came down to her and another candidate. I liked her humility. The other candidate was very boastful about the college he went to and his accomplishments. The HR manager was really impressed with him.

As the hiring manager, I had the final decision and I chose her. She turned out to be an excellent team player.

I have learned over the years that having a degree does not make you better at performing at a job. It does not override qualities as humility, authenticity and integrity.

"My biggest MISTAKE is probably weighing too much on someone's talent and not someone's personality. I think it matters whether someone has a good heart." —Elon Musk

In today's world, we need to place higher metrics on these qualities because they are becoming extinct.

Agree?

Check out my new post (Brigette Hyacinth) : HIRE Character, Train for skill. https:///epnvRMh

cc: Lalasticlala

You hired her because she is female and beautiful. You can never hire a man who does not have the requirements.

So Mr HR stop these unnecessary
quotes. It seems your conscience is hunting you

From these posts, it shows that Nigerian graduates are cowards and liars.

Why not just contribute and state your deduction. Why must you lie that a DPR staff tells you this, my uncle who works in HR department tells you that, my Aunt told me those, my DPR staff freind said that.

We have seen series of obvious different contradictory statements from the so called DPR staff everyone claim to have. This tells you one thing; most people here are LIARS.

Why can't you just say your statement and analyse logically with reasonable deduction. Why claim to be what you are not. This thread portrays the Nigerian mentality killing us today. Even just online, we still keep lying.

And we are educated and enlightened, how do we refine the upcoming ones with all this. I am disappointed with all these hypocritical acts.

You are very right but not in a country like Nigeria. My opinion is that most of these branches of Geology you have highlighted have been taken over by quacks or engineers. For example, construction companies don't usually see it as mandatory to employ engineering Geologists because they feel Civil/Geotechnical engineers can do the job. Same goes for the mining industry, hydrology is even worse every Tom, dick and Harry now drills borehole. The fact remains that an Engineer is an Engineer regardless of the area of specialization, so there are more opportunities for an engineer. Until there is a favorable government legislation, Geologists will continue to be shortchanged.
u still don't get it. We are talking of Petroleum Engineering here. They are restricted to only oil and gas. And d petroleum industry is declining. While as a Geologist, you are not restricted.

If it were to be Civil Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Then they are better. Not Petroleum Engineering.

I am warning you. Don't spoil the career of this guy by restricting him. Oil and gas is declining and so hard to get job there.

Education / Re: Geology Or Petroleum Engineering? by yildaz: 7:45am On Nov 03, 2017
I think Geology is better.

Apart from working in an oil company (petroleum geologist), you can work in a foundation building company (engineering geologist ), environmental consultant ( environmental geologist ) , water and borehole company ( hydrogeologist), valuable mineral consultant e.g gold, diamiond ( mining geologist) and many more.

You can be self employed as a Mining geologist, engineering geologist, environmental geologist and hydrogeologist.

Petroleum Engineering, u are only restricted to petroleum. When oil vanishes, you are useless.
