gberra:
You may go ahead & hack down Abike's head if you can. She has always been putting pressure on the South African government in the strongest of terms. But what has Geoffrey Onyeama, the Minister for foreign affairs done? Nothing!
All he does is to sit his butt down like a mannequin while watch his brothers slaughtered in numbers in SA & other foreign countries.
Thank you o that minister is useless. Not a word. Abike is just an adviser the minister should do his job.
They should recall our ambassador, take drastic measures against South Africa but no our President is a tourist with a sleeping and redundant cabinet

Education / Re: UTME Not For Admission, But For Ranking - Oloyede by yim(f): 10:27am On Aug 27, 2017

I think this is a good idea at least it will reduce those students that are just roaming on the road in the cause of seeking for admission. Moreover self I think this will curb under table admission some institutions were doing for there own benefits and this will even increase the number of first choice courses we will be having in our various institutions as he said 60% of science course while humanity will be 40% which will bring a lot of professional and competencies of our graduate. I submit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kudos to u Mr oloyede!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ride on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God will be ur strength!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The schools cannot admit more than they are now. The schools are over populated. Structures are not good. If they are all admitted which classroom will contain them undecided
Education / Re: UTME Not For Admission, But For Ranking - Oloyede by yim(f): 10:24am On Aug 27, 2017
When I read this statement, I was taken aback. This man obviously doesn't understand the problem. There is no school that is under populated infact all are over populated.
Second, anyone who made 5 credits in SSCE and cannot make 200 in jamb should re write jamb.
120 is 30%. F9
It belittles the intelligence of Nigerians. Its a stupid call.
Education / Re: Civil Servants Sending Their Children To Private Universities Are Corrupt – ASUU by yim(f): 11:58am On Aug 23, 2017
Many people disagreeing with the man are just taking sides with their guardians and parents.
Anyone doing business or any other work aside farming with civil service is CORRUPT because it's illegal.
From the salaries and loans, sending to private universities or abroad may not be a wise choice.
My uncle is in the health sector and his wife also, the salary is small. The loans have range, your salary determines the loan you get the higher your salary the higher amount you can loan.
Until all TOP civil servants and Politicians have their kids in government schools, then there is no hope.

Why can't the school allow the states audit their account?
The school too has stolen. He who comes to equity must come with clean hands.
He raised valid points: if uniosun can fund itself why not Lautech. I pity the students more.

It happens to me and my mum
My mum's case is more serious cos had to see a dermatologist and she was told it's in the blood which is why I got to inherit it or something like that. They even told her that she can only manage it.
After she did her test I didn't bother cos I was scared of hearing same thing.
She went local with agumnu, and it doesn't itch her again.
Me: loraditine and after I stopped it, it came back, so I joined her in the local way.
Best advice: do a full blood test and see a doctor afterwards

Most countries their government make money from sports; private sponsorship makes sports grow.
Let the government stop sponsorship of sports and let it grow.
In Europe, all the teams that we watch are individual owned and govt collects taxes from them.
As for Naija celebs, they should go and look at their mates abroad how they champion various causes: Di'caprio: climate change, Jolie: children welfare and the likes. They sit with President of their country to discuss policies; all they know here is to buy bling and shout.

Family / Re: How Do I Keep My Property From A Cheating Wife During Divorce? by yim(f): 9:03am On Aug 10, 2017
Hire a good lawyer, sue the man she committed adultery with cos in Nigeria to claim adultery there must be a co-respondent except he is dead.
Adultery is 5years I think under the Matrimonial Causes Act cheesy
The best is to get a lawyer.
Maintenance is mostly for the child and since it is not his child, Nigeria is kind of cool, he won't be made to pay maintenance for a child not his.
The only problem is if your friend is also guilty of adultery.
Let him sue first o, that gives your friend an edge
Plus if their marriage is less than 2years, the court has to grant them.leave to even commence proceedings.
Just contact a lawyer. Many people don't know much about dissolution in Nigeria except what they see in movies.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Mauritania Votes To Abolish Senate By Referendum by yim(f): 11:09pm On Aug 07, 2017
Referendum would be nice but there are some factors that make me feel we are not ripe:
1. Poverty and illiteracy: many Nigerians are politically illiterate and many would vote wrongly.many are poor and a little Kobo in their pockets may sway their votes the wrong way
2. Population corruption: the north is said to be the region with the largest population and they are the major ones against corruption.in a situation where Jigawa state is more populated that Ebonyi, Kano more populated than Lagos, enough said on that.
3. Tribalism: I don't think I need to flog this issue further.
It would be nice to see us have a referendum and do things like sane people really do. I pray for this country

Honestly, the powers concentrated at the federal is just too much.
What we have is a unitary system disguised as federalism. Autonomy of regions is our best bet or we break up. The North cannot force us to do their bidding, one day bush meat go catch the hunter: they cannot forever rule.
We either restructure or separate. Simple

LMAO! Smh... Nigerian Law school is a shame if the quality of the lawyers on this thread who do not know the difference between a code of conduct and a law. No wonder they are fighting Kayode Bello. They are afraid that their great incompetence will be exposed.

Madam you don't know all institutions have a code of conduct? This code of conduct can be challenged by anyone in the court if it is unreasonable and clashes with the laws of the land! Code of conduct is not a law!!! Any pangolo institution or organization can create code of conducts and they all have it!
I hate arguing on the internet with people who think they know but don't know.
I think Google would really be of help to you.
So are you telling me that EFCC Act ot NDLEA Act is a code of conduct formed by those institutions?
True they form codes for themselves to govern them but Acts are what creates them and give them powers.
Whoever you are, your education is not complete. Please go to any relative you have that is a lawyer to educate you or Google laws of the Federation of Nigeria and it may help your ignorance.
Have a blessed day.

It's not a law. It's a code of conduct adopted by all institutions and regulating bodies. A law is different from a code of conduct.
What are u saying. It is law passed by the National Assembly, same way freedom of information Act is a law or that one is a code too undecided

I am actually a student at the law school
So I know for a fact that law school is not the way it ought to be.
I am not in the Abuja campus. In Lagos when we had water issues,we complained through the SRC and it was solved albeit late but at least they apologized for it. The DG addressed us recently and told us that they are working on the deficiencies that they have.
Before he started his flyer sharing and short printing did he go through the proper channel? And was he refused?
When the Body of benchers called him for a meeting why did he shun it?

Show the proof then lawyer. Learned colleagues who cannot research and prove their presumptions! You people do not even know the difference between school mode of conduct and passing laws. No wonder the level of intelligence and the quality of lawyers in Nigeria is soooo poor. You cannot think outside of what you hear. You lack the ability to back up your argument or show proof. Learned colleague? You? You need to go and ask for refund from wherever passed you out as a lawyer.
Madam or Oga
First of at the Constitution is a grind norm and there are other laws that empower institutions
And example, there is ICAN Act that governs the way ICAN operates, the same way there is CAMA that governs CAC and how they deal with companies.
So Legal Education Act governs the Council of Legal Education of which law school is an arm.
So that Act governs the way law school operates.
So there you have it

Which law states that a council should reserve the right to admit someone who is fit and proper
Legal Education Act gives the Council of Legal Education rights to make laws they seem fit for legal education and part of those rules is the doctrine of FIT and PROPER
Education / Re: We Pay 130k As School Fees - Nwafor Orizu College Of Education Students Protest by yim(f): 10:03am On Aug 03, 2017
9jakohai:
That's cheap.

IN other words...they are paying $360 per session as fees.

No wonder the school does not have facilites.

Meanwhile, our educaiton budget needs N5 trillion and above FOR TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS to make things better. This year, we were not able to muster up to N1 trillion...AND most of that cash is going to the primary and secondary schools that need it more.

Sorry Nigerians....but if you want quality educaiton...we have to pay for it. Govt has not been able to pay for it since 2009...and 2013..when ASUU was told there was no extra/spare cash for tertiary schools.

As.much as I agree that what we pay as school fees is cheap but there are not corresponding facilities to aid people to study if the fees are hiked. Poverty level is high and many people are relying on these institutions.
So if there facilities such as students loans and the likes, people won't mind paying as long as the standard is there
