Good day VO. I received a blue letter today at the embassy in Lagos for not having enough evidence to show I have strong ties in Nigeria and USA (I forgot some of my vital documents at home in a rush though). I'm supposed to arrive in US by 31st cause my cousin's wedding comes up on 1st April. Do you think I might still be able to meet up with the deadline for arival for the wedding if I reapply now for the visa, book my interview for monday and possibly get my visa granted?

You're right about the recruitment starting late October. Though it started around that time, it wasn't made public and official. What was going on then was just in house lobbying not until Maritime Workers Union with other unions concerned had a meeting with the manager that the decision to place adverts this year was made (the meeting was held in the third week of Dec). Publicing it is just for sake of record and posterity. Already, before now hundreds have applied through man know man
