17-year-old Nigerian student, Fola Orebiyi, was reportedly stabbed to death on Sunday in Notting Hill, London, by a gang of youths.
Fola, who was studying at Chelsea Academy after completing his GCSES at Holland Park, was reportedly stabbed to death in front of horrified tourists and passers-by after fleeing from a gang of youths on bikes on July 3.

A statement issued on Tuesday by the Director of Public Relations and Information (NAF), Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, described the story as false and did not emanate from NAF.

Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has described as ‘unfounded’ a newspaper report that it is planning to compulsorily retire some Air Vice Marshalls over involvement in fraudulent arms deals.

The statement issued by NAF reads: “The attention of the Nigerian Air Force has been drawn to the publication on pages 1-2 of New Telegraph newspaper of Monday 13 June 2016 titled “Arm Scandal: Air Force to retire AVMs, Commodores”.

“The publication alleged that the NAF is at the verge of retiring a number of senior officers connected with the ongoing investigation of arms purchase under the immediate past administration.

“It is pertinent to state that this story is unfounded and did not emanate from the NAF.

“The Press is therefore please advised to always confirm their story with the NAF before publication”.

Nigerian scientist (physicist and bio-engineer), Oshiorenoya Agabi, is working on building a computer that is much more alive with living, learning processors.
He believes that in the evolution of Artificial Intelligence, brain-like processors are missing a key component, which is actual brains, or at least, living neurons.
Agabi’s company Koniku, which just completed a stint at the biotech accelerator IndieBio, prides itself as the first and only company on the planet building chips with biological neurons.
The young scientist believes that rather than simply mimic brain function with chips, the script can actually be flipped by borrowing the actual material of human brains to create the chips.
He’s integrating lab-grown neurons onto computer chips in an effort to make them much more powerful than their standard silicon forebears.
Google, Facebook, and IBM have all gone all-in on brain-like computers that promise to emulate the mind of a human. The ability to learn and recognize patterns is viewed as a key next step in the evolution of Artificial Intelligence.
Agabi says his company, Koniku, is fundraising towards a first-round goal of $6.3 million. It has already landed customers in the aviation and pharmaceuticals industries, like AstraZeneca, the UK-based pharma company, and Boeing has signed on with a letter of intent to use the tech in chemical-detecting drones.
The first batch of neuron-abetted chips are set to ship in the next few months. Agabi says that one customer, a drone company, hopes the processors will prove superior in detecting methane leaks in oil refineries.

Another aims to use the processors to model the effect certain drugs will have on a human brain. The future, Agabi believes, will run on a computer that’s much more alive.
Part of Koniku’s funding success seems to come from his genuine, even romantic vision of neuron-based chips as the future of processing.
Agabi, who was born in Nigeria, first became interested in machine learning while teaching a pick-and-place robotic arm to classify objects for the Swiss robotics company, Neuronics.
After eight years, he left the company to pursue his Masters in theoretical physics, focusing his thesis on the challenge of interfacing neurons with a robot.
He spent the next four years working to build a robotic arm that could attach to an amputee, eventually leaving to move to London to pursue his PhD in bio-engineering.
Through years of teaching machines to learn, and through the study of the brain’s mechanics, he believes that his team will be able to organize living neurons into circuits built to perform precise tasks.
Basically, he hopes to build a computer chip with living, learning processors. Agabi believes his neuronic chips will be better at learning than traditional silicon processors, because they can more closely mirror human brain function.
Last month, Google’s AI division, DeepMind, announced that its computer had defeated Europe’s Go champion in five straight games, a landmark moment in the evolution of artificial intelligence.

Flavour N’abania and his second baby mama, Anna Banner, have decided to move on with their individual lives.

According to Anna Banner, ex-beauty Queen and mother of one, she is no longer in a relationship with Flavour – a decision she took recently.

Anna Ebiere Banner and the singer welcomed their baby in August 2015, two years after he had his first child with another ex-beauty Queen, Sandra Okagbu.

In an interview with Stella Dimokorkus, Anna talks about her relationship with the father of her baby, also stating that pregnancy was not what tied her to him.

She fell in love and unfortunately, got pregnant for the man in question. Anna Banner also said that she was not aware of Flavour’s relationship with Sandra until it resulted in a child.

“We are no longer together. I made this decision recently. I spoke to myself and decided it was time to move on and focus on my future and career.

“I never decided to become a baby mama, I just fell in love. I fell in love and got pregnant unexpectedly for the man I loved. I had never gotten pregnant before and I was scared of abortion.

“I decided to keep my baby no matter what, I never tried to hold a man down or force marriage on anyone with my pregnancy. You know in life, the hardest decisions always turn out beautiful. I don’t regret keeping my baby one bit. She is my greatest achievement in life so far. I fall in love with her every second of the day.”

The Lollipop rapper suffered two seizures mid air on his private jet, forcing an emergency landing and sending fans all over the world into a frenzy.

He is however now okay, according to reports. “We can confirm that he did experience two minor seizures yesterday,” a Lil Wayne rep told E! News. “Under the guidance of his own doctors, he is now in stable condition and good spirits. He thanks his fans for their everlasting support, prayers and well wishes.”

20 people were killed and 42 were injured after a gunman opened fire inside the popular Pulse nightclub in Orlando.
The club is a popular spot for homosexuals, and witnesses reported about 40 shots inside the club fired by the shooter, identified as 29-year old Omar Marteen.

Marteen, who is a US citizen, was killed by US police in a shootout. A police officer was shot in the head during the gunfight that followed, but was saved by his Kevlar helmet. An alarm was raised by staff of the club who posted on Facebook: “Everyone get out of pulse and keep running.”

Mayor Buddy Dyer praised the efforts of law enforcement agencies, saying that “many were saved by [their] heroic efforts”.”We had a crime that will have a lasting effect, we need to stand strong, we need to support victims and their families,” he said.

“As soon as we have any information we will update everyone,” the club stated later in a Facebook statement. “Please keep everyone in your prayers as we work through this tragic event. Thank you for your thoughts and love.”

Apostle Johnson Suleman, who is the founder of Omega Fire Ministeries, has criticised President Muhammadu Buhari for his frequent trips.

Fiery preacher compared Buhari’s junketing nature to that of an evangelist who relocated from one place to the other.

Suleman was speaking at the just ended Holy Ghost Convention tagged God of all flesh in his church’s national headquarters in Auchi, Edo state.

The prominent cleric speaking at the conference said that Nigerians were tired of the calls for patience by President Buhari.

“People are suffering and you said they should be patient. It is not fair. We voted for a president but we now have an evangelist,” the prophet said.

“We need to pray because I also heard that someone’s ear is blind. May God help us,” Suleman added.

Apostle Suleman is known for his controversial prophecies, some of which came to pass.

The man of God was credited with prediction of the demise of late Audu Abubakar, the former governor of Kogi state, as well as other epidemics in the country.

He recently predicted that Governor El-Rufai would die over his plan to amend Kaduna’s “Religious Preaching Laws of 1984.”

Meanwhile, some of his prophecies didn’t materialize, one of them comprised the declaration that El-Rufai would lose the 2015 governorship poll.

The Lagos State High Court sitting on Thursday, sentenced a banker, Olawale Garuba, to 39 years imprisonment for stealing from the dead.

Garuba was arraigned alongside six others in July 2015 for conspiring among themselves to steal over N30, 000,000 from the bank account of a deceased customer of a bank where the convict works.

Upon their arraignment, they all initially pleaded not guilty to 18 counts of fraud.

However, on June 2, 2016, the convicted banker changed his plea from “not guilty” to “guilty”.

At the trial, Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye said despite the remorse of the convict, Garuba, she had no sympathy for him as he compromised his position as a banker to steal from a deceased customer whose money would have been used by the family she left behind.

Ipaye stated that the convict allowed his greed to overcome him and risk losing the job that thousands of job seekers are craving to get.

The judge found the banker guilty on 13 of the eighteen counts, and sentenced him to three years imprisonment on each count. The sentences are to run concurrently from the date of his first detention, which is July 24, 2015.
