Ibime is on free hit, I know he is going to pack all double-game players into his team!
Do we really need all them double-game players? I mean, Salah vs Bournamouth can outscore Eriksen/Ali/Son vs Mancity + Brighton.

That Zamzummim dude got a wildcard still intact so I am sure he will play it now and pack his team full.

Infact, looking at the teams in the top 20 teams and the chips still left in their Arsenal, it is obvious the next few weeks is going to be very interesting.

Some interesting facts:

Only 2 teams in the top 20 has just one chip left, the rest has either 2 chips or more. None has all four chips intact. Looking at those chips, I think the most powerful one to have now is WC, followed by TC/FH (I will rate both in the same class) and then finally BB. So lets see the teams that have the upper hand in the competition:

Ten of the top-20 teams have 3 chips intact. Infact they have the biggest advantage. Apart from Youngforever, Nihilist and PeitriRico at 2nd, 3rd and 7th spot respectively, all other top-10 teams have all 3 chips intact.

Interestingly, only Ibime and 2 other teams on top-20 have no Tripple-Captain chip left so i believe the battle will rest on that tripple-captain chip; when to play it and who to play it on. With the way managers are playing this game like a game of poker, hiding their hand for the last minute, a believe majority of the managers are waiting to play it on Gmweek 37 when Spurs, Arsenal, Manutd and City will all have a double gameweek. Now for the who? That will be interesting to find out.

But is the tripple-captain chip overated? Kane returned 9pts when some managers played theirs on his double game week few months back. I will not be surprised if the same fate awaits us all.

All managers at the top-20 have their BenchBoost. So it is right to assume that most will play theirs this week for the doubles and play TC next double; or play TC this week and BB next double. So the battle lies between these two gameweeks and how to deploy the chips effectively.

Only 7 managers still have their FH intact so next week with few games will be their biggest advantage. It will be interesting to see how they use the FH effectively.

Among the four managers who still has WC, none has FH as that would have been a terrific advantage. But all four of them have TC and somehow, I still fear how much wreck those managers can cause with that combo.

So at a glance for top-20:

BB: 20 teams
TC: 17 teams
WC: 4 teams

BB + TC + WC: 4 teams

BB + TC: 7 teams
BB + FH: 1 team

Shout out to Viqta FC at 1st position with almost 20-point gap and 3 chips still intact; it will be a big feat displacing you at the top, but be assured that a lot will try.

Good write-up Mazi, I can imagine the work and analysis that you put in to produce that.
Like you rightly noted, chip deployment at this stage of the game is going to decide a lot of moves up nd down the table in the closing legs of the season. Especially when some are looking to deploy their chips with the aim of winning specific H2H battles in some other mini leagues rather than concentrating on massive point hauls to improve rankings.
But then, that’s the beauty of the game.
GW35 is a hole in the ground, a pitfall and I am of the opinion that planning for it will decide how many points anyone gets in the run in between now and the end of the season.
Your weighting of the chips is interesting to note. I would rate them differently. And in weighing them, I am of the opinion that one must consider current team, gameweeks possibilities and the strategies one plans to adopt in the run in, so in that respect I think we would all have different weights. Given the closeness between a DGW34 and a BGW35, a free hit chip is a more massive advantage than a WC in my opinion.
I am down in 17th and believe a top 10 finish is feasible....... so I will simply aim for a top 5 finish and hope I don’t fall too far down. I hope there is space

My team is in the stalkers league. And I asked if I could register more than one team this season. So trust me, I am not adverse to staking for more than one team. More fun that way.

Thanks for clarifying bro. But it does not work either, they told me to start at Conference cup two seasons ago and I won it. So I won the Conference league two seasons ago and finished top 20 last season and didn’t get codes this season.

So, that’s why I say make rules and stick with them.

There should be a basic level of sportsmanship common to all human beings ffs.

I don’t think what you just stated here is the rule, I finished in the top 20 in this league last season and I was not given the code to join the FA Cup this season, even though I asked.

That’s is why I say if you want to make it standardized, set rules and stick with them.

Although the dude has a point that the league can be joined at anytime but having 3 teams with different strategies and competing against people with single teams doesn't seem fair. Yes, it wouldn't have raised so much eyebrows if you sneaked in at the 100th position but as it is, it's not fair.

Personally, I look at teams at the top and those i am competing against weekly and make decisions from their setup. Critical decisions like which players to get, point hits to take, wildcard and chips to use etc. Your teams were not among the teams being competed against earlier, so smuggling them in now at those vintage positions will disrupt lots of plans and strategies.

I don't support this at all.

Like all games, there are rules. Clearly this has not occurred before and Mukina did not contemplate it happening that is why the league is still open.
So I personally will stand by whatever he/she decides and will take out any team he/she says should leave. In so doing she would have set out the rule and that will become the rule going forward.
So, I will simply wait until we hear from him/ her.
The teams I manage are not all in the same leagues because some have rules, either qualifying or against having two teams.
All the Nairaland Cups have such rules, This would be a good opportunity to set out the rules for the general league. Either on number of teams or when teams cannot join.

People join the Nairaland league every game week. Mukina does not lock it up in GW1.

Same way people join all big leagues that are not exclusive.

Yes, i probably might lose the h2h this week, but i am sure you have not noticed that it is a tactical move on my part . lemme explain ........ even if i lose the h2h this week, you still cant go ahead of me, that means i end the season as head of the Conference Cup table as we go into the play-offs! You can congratulate me on that before I add another laurel on my hat!

Now, the tactics part ......once you make top 8, use the last GW before playoffs to arrange your team, take point hits if necessary and prepare for the play-offs thats what i did, knowing that even if i lose you cant catch me.

And since we are on the subject of predicting futures, my crystal ball tells me that your first opponent in the play-offs will be Viruz FC. he will most likely finish in 7th position at the end of this GW. Pele, end of the road for you .....him gonna tear you a new hole!
