Thank you for the info. Can you kindly expatiate on "previously submitted application"?

I mean if you've applied to Canada or the US before i.e submitted a complete application and not entered the EE pool.

Hello, I have my first degree in IT but I've worked in a bank since I finished nysc so no real IT working experience. I want to ask, if I use my banking experience for my PR application which I have to, can I still get jobs in IT when I land Canada? I want to move back to IT, what's your best advice?

Whatever job experience you use on your PR app doesn't have anything to do with what job you do when you land in Canada. This is because IRCC/CIC DOES NOT share information with employers. So in other words, you can use say engineering experience to apply but when you land use banking experiences on your resume. However in regards to your banking experience, if that's what would be on your resume it'll be very difficult to land an IT job even with your IT degree but you could try getting one of those sought after IT certifications though.

Hi, I have two account with GT bank and I am using a fixed deposit from my current account with statement of about 25pages. Should I include my savings account too or just ignore the savings account statement. I want to be able to meet the 4MB size.

Add the savings account and like the poster above me said, reduce the file size online. Don't forget to scan them in colour though.

Hi Zandora,
Good to have you here after such a long time. Please I would like to find out one or two things from you. Which city exactly are you at? What's your job description at the bank? And how good is the pay? Hope I'm not asking too much. My experience is in banking as well but I'm thinking of going for nursing when we move. My husband is an Accountant so he definitely has to get all the Canadian Certifications. A lot of people have been telling us Ontario infact Toronto to be precise but an Uncle of ours advised us against it. He says cost of living is too high in Toronto, that it's very hard to save. He suggested a smaller city. I dnt know what is obtainable in these smaller cities? Will one even be able to get something decent. What is the cost of living where you reside? You could just give us an overview of life in Canada. I'm sure one or two people will learn a thing or two from it. Thanks

Firstly I'm in Toronto and my job description centers around fraud. The pay is okay, nothing fantastic but this will significantly increase once I get a certification which I intend to pursue. You do know that to be a nurse you have to obtain the qualifications first which can take a while. Therefore my advice would be that once you get here you apply for a job in banking which you already have experience in and then attend evening nursing classes or study so you can at least make some money. Yes Toronto is quite expensive but to be honest I don't see any major difference in costs between Toronto and any other cities in Ontario except you want to move to another province. The fact is 80% of the finance jobs are in Toronto so you're better of living somewhere around there. You could rent a basement apartment in a city just outside Toronto, say Scarborough or Mississauga, that'll be considerably cheaper. As for living in a smaller city far from Toronto, goodluck finding a job!

Life in Canada is really good, at least for me. I've lived in the UK for many years and I can confidently say I prefer Canada to the UK. The people here are really friendly and you'll very hardly ever experience racism especially if you reside around the GTA. Also you always hear about how cold the winter is in Canada but you'll never hear about the summer. The summer here is really hot (in Ontario)! Like Naija hot!! This is unlike other cold countries like the the UK where you experience similar weather throughout the season. Also in the summer there are a million and one things to do. Living here isn't bad at all, but that's from my experience.

Hi Zandora, Good to have you back! I checked your last seen online status and it was December 2016, I was like she is AWOL! cheesy

I tried sending you a mail.

Kindly assist with the quoted.

Thank you

Lol. I was temporarily AWOL cheesy

Yes they do check for duplicate profiles but they don't go into details to check for any discrepancies. In my own case, I initially created a profile and then I realised that I made a few errors and I used a wrong NOC so I deleted the profile and created a new one. When I requested for my GCMS notes later, I saw that they wrote that I had another profile which was deleted and they even had all the info that was on that profile.

So my 2 cents is that they'll only go into details to check for any discrepancies if you've previously submitted an application.

I just want to apologise to you all for the silence. You know how stressful bank jobs are and by the time I get home I don't even feel like doing anything else except sleeping. Also, for some reason I was finding it very difficult to login because I couldn't remember my login details.

For everyone who has received their PR's I just want to say a huge congratulations! For those of you who are still on the journey don't worry, you'll get there sooner than you know and in the end it'll be worth it.

Oh and one more thing, if you're already here in Canada and are still job hunting and your experience is in the financial services industry, let me know so I can give you some interview tips and tricks. Trust me, many of the interview questions they ask are constantly repeated.

Good luck!

hello house, good evening. really appreciate every of contributions here, GOD Almighty will grant us all desires, my question is, do i need someone in Canada for any of the modules of application, cuz I was actually threatened that if i don't have someone to nominate me over there in Canada i might no be selected.Any response will be a huge relief. CHEERS

You don't need to know anyone in Canada in order to qualify to apply for PR. On the other hand, if you want to go via the provincial nomination route then some provinces will require you to have ties to Canada.

Hello Profs, if myself and wife decide to apply, re we both required to write ielts?

Yes if you want a higher chance of being selected because if you both write you'll obtain a higher score than if only the principal applicant writes.

Please how long does it take for one to get the PR card on a normal circumstances assume there are no issues?

It should take about 2 months or slightly more. My photos were rejected as invalid so I had to take another and send that's why mine is taking too long.

Hello house, I will like to ask a quick question,, zandora, jesusdway and every member of the good forum. Is it compulsory you get a mail letter sent to you if you are invited for interview or you can also get an email invite?

It's mostly email invite. The people I know received their invites via email.

No, I have not written the test...but like I said, we really need to save up some funds again before I write it since the result expires in 2 years.
I know how to calculate the scores,he did not even have upto CLB 6.
I already have my Bsc evaluated by WES. Currently doing my masters degree which I will be rounding up in few months time.
I have 3years work experience (full time) in NOC 0412
I am 31years now.

Yes you can be the principal applicant, land and then return to Nigeria after a month. However since you'll be the principal applicant you'll need to land with your husband or land first after getting your PPR, your husband cannot land before you.

Forwarded a sample to your email.

Pay slips are not compulsory. If your reference letter has everything CIC wants, it should suffice.

Payslips are very necessary! If you submit only your reference letter then there's a 90% chance of being called for an interview so submit all the payslips and salary bank statement as possible.

Good day house, please I am in a serious dilemma, my PPR has arrived but my passport expires in July, so I will need a new one. I have actually applied for a new one but it is still under process and I do not know if it will meet up with this 15days response deadline. Please what can I do?I AV applied now but was told they are short of materials and cannot guarantee that I will get it in two weeks( I even paid for express service for the passport re-issuance but after payment and capturing, I was told to wait for 2 weeks).. Please I need advise on wat to do please

Just email AVO to extend your deadline because you've applied to renew your passport, they'll extend it for you. It's nothing for you to panick about.

Thank you very much @Zandora. The document to be uploaded included proof of marriage. The worry still remains that the time for me to prepare and take English test is short because the next available date is 2nd of April 2016 and I have no idea when the test score will be available for uploads. So we decided to write to them stating that he is not including me in the application but even at that, the application is still requesting for my Medical report, Police report and Bio data page of my passport. I will appreciate your opinion. Thanks

Even if he informs them that he's not including you, you'll still need to take the medical test. Also, you can't just write to them saying he's not including you, there's an option to indicate that on his EE profile and his points would then be adjusted accordingly. However you can only see that option if you indicated you were married and not single. The fact of the matter is that his profile is locked as single so he should not apply but reject the invitation and re-enter the pool as married. Better to be safe than sorry.

Goodday every one. Pls i have few questions. Unfortunately for me, i used an agent who doesnt carry one along well enough. I was picked form the general pool without provincial nomination, but i was out of the country for some months and couldnt get the uk police report as i studied there for a year (cos i was preoccupied). The rest of my documents r ready, can i go ahead to submit those without the police report (note i left the uk every 3mnths during the course of the program).
Also is there an email i can send a message to, asking for ab extension due to my inability to get some documents because i was out of the country for medical reasons? It expires in 3days time and i am confused as to what step to take.
Thanks in advance

Better don't submit your application without your UK PCC otherwise you'll receive an instant refusal. CIC only gives exceptions to those countries whose PCCs take long to obtain eg the FBI PCC. The UK PCC is one of the easiest to obtain, infact you can get it within 1 week after you apply. Also, haven't you read the updated PCC requirements that was done in February? Regardless of if you took breaks or not you have to provide a PCC for the countries you lived in for a total of 6 months (before it used to be for 6 months in a row), therefore as you studied in the UK for a year you definitely need a UK PCC. Finally, you can't send an email for extension, either you have the documents after the 60 days allowed or you don't.

I wonder why you didn't get the Uk PCC all this time even if you were out of the country. You don't need to be physically present in the UK to apply as all you needed to have done was to apply for it via the ACRO website. I myself applied for the UK PCC and received it very fast.

Hello Zandora, kindly advise please. I have already applied for my transcripts to be sent to WES. However, can I send a copy of my certificate by email; if yes, what is the email address? Or can I send a copy to my Alma Mater and ask them to include it or is self postal the only option for the photocopy of the certificate?
Thank you.

Yes you can tell your school to include the copy of your certificate with your transcript.

Please guys I need answers... JesusDWay, zondora, everybody. I need to go to my school on Tuesday

If you entered using your OND and started from 200 level then yes you have to include your OND credentials since you entered through direct entry otherwise you won't be assessed as having a Canadian BSc since you only spent 3 yrs at uni. However if you used your OND to enter and started from 100 level then you do not need to include it since you would've spent 4 years at uni.

Thank you for the response.

Do I need to send both the transcripts and certificates to WES? I already have my certificate at hand and schools don't issue certificates more than once.

Thank you.

You need to send the photocopy of your certificate and original transcript. Do not send your original certificate because you won't get it back, besides if you read the instructions from WES you are to only send a copy of your certificate.

Hi Zandora. He didn't assess his credentials. Is it compulsory for him to do so? The only place we claimed points for him was IELTS.
Is he meant to also evaluate his credentials?

If he didn't assess his credentials then he can't claim points for it. If he isn't claiming points for it then it doesn't matter what he provides as proof of education since to CIC he could as well have zero education.

Hello Zandora, sorry I didn't mean for WES, it's for CIC i.e ITA Docs. Would notification of result work? It's for my hubby though I'm the principal applicant.

I don't really know because I haven't heard of anyone submitting anything apart from their certificate. Nevertheless it may fly since he'll also be submitting his ECA however I'm not sure.

So EE profiles with minimum crs of 400 do not get Ontario EOI even when the program quota hasn't filled up? I thought Ontario had an automated system of picking out EE profiles amongst skilled workers with minimum crs of 400 who would then proceed to apply for a PNP and at that point the selection process occurs and successful applicants would get a nomination.

Their 2015 quota would most likely have filled up by now and I heard they will start with 2016 by May/June.
