yungreezy: Whatever job experience you use on your PR app doesn't have anything to do with what job you do when you land in Canada. This is because IRCC/CIC DOES NOT share information with employers. So in other words, you can use say engineering experience to apply but when you land use banking experiences on your resume. However in regards to your banking experience, if that's what would be on your resume it'll be very difficult to land an IT job even with your IT degree but you could try getting one of those sought after IT certifications though. 4 Likes |

Chinnie4Jesus: Firstly I'm in Toronto and my job description centers around fraud. The pay is okay, nothing fantastic but this will significantly increase once I get a certification which I intend to pursue. You do know that to be a nurse you have to obtain the qualifications first which can take a while. Therefore my advice would be that once you get here you apply for a job in banking which you already have experience in and then attend evening nursing classes or study so you can at least make some money. Yes Toronto is quite expensive but to be honest I don't see any major difference in costs between Toronto and any other cities in Ontario except you want to move to another province. The fact is 80% of the finance jobs are in Toronto so you're better of living somewhere around there. You could rent a basement apartment in a city just outside Toronto, say Scarborough or Mississauga, that'll be considerably cheaper. As for living in a smaller city far from Toronto, goodluck finding a job! Life in Canada is really good, at least for me. I've lived in the UK for many years and I can confidently say I prefer Canada to the UK. The people here are really friendly and you'll very hardly ever experience racism especially if you reside around the GTA. Also you always hear about how cold the winter is in Canada but you'll never hear about the summer. The summer here is really hot (in Ontario)! Like Naija hot!! This is unlike other cold countries like the the UK where you experience similar weather throughout the season. Also in the summer there are a million and one things to do. Living here isn't bad at all, but that's from my experience. 38 Likes 4 Shares |

Wiskolo: Lol. I was temporarily AWOL Yes they do check for duplicate profiles but they don't go into details to check for any discrepancies. In my own case, I initially created a profile and then I realised that I made a few errors and I used a wrong NOC so I deleted the profile and created a new one. When I requested for my GCMS notes later, I saw that they wrote that I had another profile which was deleted and they even had all the info that was on that profile. So my 2 cents is that they'll only go into details to check for any discrepancies if you've previously submitted an application. 2 Likes |

I just want to apologise to you all for the silence. You know how stressful bank jobs are and by the time I get home I don't even feel like doing anything else except sleeping. Also, for some reason I was finding it very difficult to login because I couldn't remember my login details. For everyone who has received their PR's I just want to say a huge congratulations! For those of you who are still on the journey don't worry, you'll get there sooner than you know and in the end it'll be worth it. Oh and one more thing, if you're already here in Canada and are still job hunting and your experience is in the financial services industry, let me know so I can give you some interview tips and tricks. Trust me, many of the interview questions they ask are constantly repeated. Good luck! 46 Likes 3 Shares |

foeveryoungdiva: Even if he informs them that he's not including you, you'll still need to take the medical test. Also, you can't just write to them saying he's not including you, there's an option to indicate that on his EE profile and his points would then be adjusted accordingly. However you can only see that option if you indicated you were married and not single. The fact of the matter is that his profile is locked as single so he should not apply but reject the invitation and re-enter the pool as married. Better to be safe than sorry. |

yokus: Better don't submit your application without your UK PCC otherwise you'll receive an instant refusal. CIC only gives exceptions to those countries whose PCCs take long to obtain eg the FBI PCC. The UK PCC is one of the easiest to obtain, infact you can get it within 1 week after you apply. Also, haven't you read the updated PCC requirements that was done in February? Regardless of if you took breaks or not you have to provide a PCC for the countries you lived in for a total of 6 months (before it used to be for 6 months in a row), therefore as you studied in the UK for a year you definitely need a UK PCC. Finally, you can't send an email for extension, either you have the documents after the 60 days allowed or you don't. I wonder why you didn't get the Uk PCC all this time even if you were out of the country. You don't need to be physically present in the UK to apply as all you needed to have done was to apply for it via the ACRO website. I myself applied for the UK PCC and received it very fast. 1 Like 1 Share |

primeson1: If you entered using your OND and started from 200 level then yes you have to include your OND credentials since you entered through direct entry otherwise you won't be assessed as having a Canadian BSc since you only spent 3 yrs at uni. However if you used your OND to enter and started from 100 level then you do not need to include it since you would've spent 4 years at uni. |
