vcole: No it doesn't. The fact that you score above 400 doesn't guarantee that Ontario will send you an EOI. They only choose a select few because they have a quota to fill. Now that they haven't started their 2016 program the EOI's have dried up. |

walexlo78: It's probably an error with their website. Anyway it doesn't matter if you don't enter the pool before your birthday because even if you're able to enter the pool now, 5 points will still be deducted in 3 days time. So as long as you've not received an ITA, 5 points will automatically be deducted from your total score come your birthday. |

AlphaNumero: With the background check it depends on the case officer. Sometimes it could take as little as 2 days like some people I know, or it could take as long as about 4 months like mine. Yes they'll ask you for the proof of funds at the border, it may be in cash, traveller's cheque etc. |
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by zandora: 1:06am On Feb 28, 2016 |
white12k: Send the COPR back then they'll request for your wife's info for background check and they'll also perform a medical exam. After that they'll add her to your application and issue you both with new visas (with a new expiry date) and new COPR. 1 Like |

white12k: Yes you MUST inform CIC before you travel that you're no longer single. You'll be asked to send your COPR back and evidence of your marriage so she can be added to your application and she'll also need to take medical exams. When you land the boarder agent will still ask if you're single and if you say you aren't you'll find yourself on d next available flight back to your country. That's why if you check the letter accompanying your COPR you'll see where they wrote that you must inform CIC if your circumstances have changed. |

Dhejy: Didn't receive any email from you. Did you use your id Dhejy? Have you already paid for the WES and have been given an id? Ppl send me their certificates without paying WES which results in me not being able to send it to WES. Please if you are sending me your certificate to post for you make sure you've already paid WES then provide me with the WES id and address. |

foeveryoungdiva: If that's the case, then he can't submit that application as being single otherwise it'll be regarded as misrepresentation. Furthermore, the field showing an applicant as single is locked as soon as one enters the pool and the section for uploading documents will only show the options for a single applicant eg there'll be no section to upload the marriage certificate etc. My advice would be for him to reject the ITA then you take your IELTS and get your WES evaluation if your score isn't high enough, then re-enter the pool. 1 Like |

flgd: - Yes it's cheaper for permanent residents and Canadian citizens. - Unfortunately it rarely equates to more job opportunities as I know several non Canadians who've got Master's and are still job hunting sadly. What will open the doors is having a Canadian experience, so even if you land an unskilled job in Canada you'll be at an advantage. |

foeveryoungdiva: I don't understand, you've confused me. If your husband has already been invited and he declared that he was married then why does he want you to take the ielts when he has already been invited based on his score? Did your husband state that he was single when he entered the pool? Yet still, did he indicate that you had already taken the ielts and put dummy scores for you? Finally, did he enter the pool when he was single and now wants to add you? 1 Like |

irondome: Unfortunately there's nothing like temporary health card for permanent residents in Canada, until you complete the waiting time you won't qualify for any public health care unless you take out a private insurance policy. I myself am not yet qualified for the Ontario health care because I haven't spent 3 months here yet. Also, I didn't take out any private health insurance, therefore I pray everyday that I don't fall seriously ill because if I do I'll be finished! |

40manlappy: Firstly it is doable but the problem is that she already has a Master's so CIC will be skeptical as to why she wants another Master's again. My advice is for her to apply for a PhD instead to maximise her chances of being successful with the student application. Yes you would be eligible for a spousal work permit. |

chimaXYZ: Yes there's a 90 day wait but that's for some provinces. You've got a few options though: - Land in another province such as Alberta whereby the health insurance starts immediately then quickly register so that your wife receives coverage, then move to your intended province later. However note that when you move to another province you'll have to register again with that province and wait for the coverage to start according to their stipulated waiting times. - Land in the province that requires a 3 month wait period and take out a temporary private insurance policy that'll cover her for 90 days, however beware that most private insurance policies don't cover pregnant women. - Land in your intended province then pay for her care out of your pocket, this is the most expensive option. - Let your wife give birth in Nigeria before you land. The problem with this option though is that you'll have to inform CIC to add your baby to your application and this might take a lot of time to process. Find below a list of provinces and their provincial health care wait times : Alberta: Immediate coverage after arrival Ontario: Coverage after 90 days British Columbia: Coverage after 90 days Manitoba: Coverage begins on the first day of the third month after your arrival. For example, if you arrive on August 29, August will count as the first month, with September and October as the following two. Therefore, in this case your coverage would begin November 1. Quebec: Coverage after 90 days New Brunswick:Coverage after 90 days Nova Scotia: Immediate coverage after arrival Saskatchewan: Immediate coverage after arrival 2 Likes 2 Shares |

jarkbauer: I don't know which other option you've got left since your school won't amend it. Try submitting it like that, CIC might overlook it. Is the discrepancy a lot though? For example is it the same day and month but a different year? |

iphie25: No the law school doesn't count because with your law school certificate you can only practice law in Nigeria. Now if you had the law school certificate obtained in Canada then it would count because it means you can then practice that profession in Canada. Other examples include writing their pharmacy qualifying exams and obtaining their pharmacy provincial license to be able to practice pharmacy in Canada, obtaining their engineering license to become an engineer in Canada, Canadian medical license to practice medicine in Canada etc. 1 Like |
