magastefan: Your uncle should suffice as a sponsor. You do not need to show POF for dependents not traveling with you. It is in your interest to submit your own bank statements as evidence of your income and personal circumstances in Nigeria aside your sponsor's. |

tommee: Banking and finance and accounting are related. It is better you apply directly to master if you can. In the long run, you might still need to still study a master degree so that you can apply for PR. Professional accounting does not sound too good for PR at the moment but you can always change your course when you get in. |

Hey guys, It’s been a while I posted here, although I keep getting lots of mails and SOPs for review. A quick point for applicants, SOP are very important and it does not have to be many pages, I recommend at max a page and half in order to make it easier for the case officer The most important point to stress are: 1) professional and educational experience 2) establish link for studying the proposed course with your professional and educational background 3) your motivation for studying the course and why Australia. They really need people to come in and I think they are just making sure the people that comes in are the ones that know what they want and they will contribute to the system. CAN WE WORK TO PAY TUITION ? Yes lots of students are working to pay 12000 dollars per semester. Although it is tough working and doing assignments but you will be alright. It’s a really good place and everyone that comes will be happy they chose Australia. You can ask more questions here. 2 Likes |

Mzsho: The purpose of study permit to stay temporarily and that’s the purpose of GTE. Although they know most students stay back after their studies but for the reasons best known to them they still want applicants to satisfy that they will leave after their studies. You traveling with your husband (he is even getting leave of absence from work) and leaving your kids behind is just making it obvious that youare relocating and we will come back for the kids later which contravenes GTE. The best route is for you to apply alone and use your husband and kids as an incentive to return. Your husband can apply after your grant as a subsequent entrant (study visa) and NOT visitor visa. This should be easy and he will need to proof GTE too. He will need to apply that he is getting his annual leave and visiting his wife. He will be granted a visa that coincide with your visa and he can work full time if you studying master or PhD. After that you can apply for your kids. Don’t make it obvious that he works for your mum, it is not a convincing tie. All the best. 1 Like |

Ayolachris: Please you need to increase communication with your spouse at this moment. Spouse visa is different to student dependant visa. Don't mix it together. Spouse visa is for a PR or citizen to bring their spouse and this takes like nine to ten months. This is a test and You have to reapply again. it is tough for family to live apart like this especially young ones. Your wife is already here and this is your destination, either they like it or not they will grant you the visa. They give grant based on your profile and what you can contribute. Gather your documents and include all your educational qualifications, letter from your employers and write a detailed letter based on the refusal notice. Apply again immediately, they know the importance of family, unfortunately something just went wrong on this initial application. 1 Like |

bligs: You Cannot get a good car for 1500. We are student and it is important you minimise all expenses and cost. Trust me you don't want to buy a car and start repairing all the time with all your weekly wage. You will cry tears won't come out, unless you have back up from naija sha. Cars that comes with road worthy that will give you peace of mind are more expensive. Budget like 2500 to be safe 3 Likes |

Albion05: Your situation is a tricky one and you have to be very smart with this one. In the past the CO sometimes raise that kind of conclusion and wait for your response if truly the bank statement is genuine. You need more than reference letter from the bank. They are doubting an authentic document issued by a financial institution, the required response should come from the bank. 1) your dad should rake for the bank and his account officer and take copy of that letter from DIBP to the bank. 2) the bank should address the soa issued to your dad and submitted to DIBP and stating it was issued by them and they can contact them directly for independent verification. You need more than Mr obasanjo is our customer and he maintain account with us reference letter from the bank. Go with your dad to the account officer and they .can get this done since the document DIBP is doubting was issued by them. All will be fine by God's grace. 4 Likes |

uckennety: What's your educational qualification prior to working in construction industry ? The Major issue is always genuine temporary entrant and your uncle is even the one going to sponsor you and I guess you not married yet with kids. If you have had some diploma/vocational education and training prior to construction work, it makes sense if your company says they want to sponsor you now for a degree. If you have been working construction with just ssce for 10 years and now you want to go study bachelor at the age of 28, it is tough to get visa. I am jusy saying it as it is. |

@bjayNL This is study in Australia thread. You are better off studying master in Canada than postgraduate or diploma course. Unfortunately Canada schools only admit 2.1 directly to master. My friend it's a gamble applying to study to study diploma or graduate diploma or graduate certificate in Canada, very low chance of getting visa. Do not waste your chance. Research other better countries. 1 Like |

For the first sister scholarship might not be possible, be ready to pay. Australia schools like money . It is the schools in USA that gives scholarships based on SAT scores. For the second the only way she can get scholarship is if she can study master research. She has a first class, so she can package herself and start looking for research supervisor in the universities. She doesn't really need GRE for Australia universities. Most scholarships in Australia are for research courses. If you looking for scholarships and both of them have done SAT and GRE, go and search schools in USA for them. engrlege: |

foreverkind1: It will always affect your chances if you have been refused by another embassy. There is high scepticism towards application like that although some people have been lucky. There are more that have been refused than those they have granted based on that circumstance. The applicant should prepare more and submit stronger documents. |

opeboi: He or she is your blood relative, and for sure they will ask you in the visa form if you have a relative in Australia. Your answer will be yes. It makes sense if he can sponsor than using a nigeria resident sponsor unless the nigeria sponsr too got strong financial evidences and document. your relative visa history and circumstances that made them became PR or citizen might affect your chances though. |

Josh121: She now want to study nursing. Some schools might not even give her COE due to the different background and start telling you GTE. If you have gotten COE and you intend to apply for visa, make sure your SOP explains how nursing is related to her education and experience. It might just be better if you apply to a related master course. All the best. |

Josh121: Please dont miss this point as you have said she is applying to study nursing. Hope her education and experience is related to nursing. If not it is a big hurdle as it is a red flag that she is going direct for PR and not study. Even if you apply to AL1 university the chances are high that they will request for SOA if you guys apply together. 15K is around 5m which is not sufficient for a bank statement to sponsor a student. |

bestdiddy: zeemo2007 at Yahoo dot come i understand your plight and it is justified for you to have chosen that coursr because you have work experiences which is the major requirement for postgraduate studies. You see SOP is like the visa interview. Most guys send me their SOP and believe me even if they submit that kind of SOP with a 100m bank statement, I doubt if the CO will still grant the visa because most are so poor and you start asking if theyvare genuine student and how will they cope studying in a developed country 5 Likes |

bestdiddy: Sorry bro. Sometimes life toss us around even when we giving it our best shot. It wasn't meant to be and better days ahead. You submitted a whole lot of evidences and documents. Most times our SOP are badly worded and discouraging and these might cast doubts on all the numerous documents and evidences submitted for visa applications. Can you send me your SOP to see ? |

babahameedah: It is best you come with your spouse. Your spouse can work for unlimited hours to support you as it will reduce pressure of working and working to pay your tuition fee. The issue is where will you put the kids while both of you are working working ? Childcare is expensive for two kids. If one person stays with the kid while the other go to work vice versa, this will also affect you guys as you have more expenses and limited work due to family commitments. If you can leave the kids with your parents in naija for maybe six months for you guys to settle and see the way things are, it makes sense OR you all can come and face it together. |

HonNellymike12: Kvickky meant australia is worth it if you are not lazy and ready to work when you arrive. I don't even understand what you are talking about in this your statement. Its a tough job for these guys treating 1000s of different different applications for visa and you expect everyone to be granted when most times 90% are based on lies, deceit and bogus documents. The crazy delay is mostly for applicants from developing countries because most of us are not genuine and we just seeking greener pasture which contravenes the condition of most granting most visa classes and verifying the authenticity of our documents and evidences takes forever and most times impossible. Their visa their business. Most students will just arrive and go claim asylum, marry oyinbo and some will just drop out and start hussling. These are applicants that claimed heaven and earth when submitting application for study visas. |
