Career / Re: FG Rejects Plans By Multichoice To Sack Nigerian Workers by ZEEZAR: 4:08pm On Sep 01, 2020
Is this a joke? Does MultiChoice belong to the Federal Government? Nigerians act like they are unaware of what is going on with the country. It is clear that the increase was as a result of the current economic situation. What has the government done to help the economy? Many businesses are packing up as a result of harmful policies and the difficulty of doing business in this sinking hole. In sane countries, the governmemt is paying a percentage of salaries of private sector. What is our government doing?! We do not even now what all the money given to us to fight this pandemic has gone! Feed 1 million Nigerians daily, MY ASS!! Abeg, I'm tired angry angry angry

bolaayenimo:
Initial gra gra. I thought FG said they should suspend the increase last week. That means this people will sack if they want to and nothing will happen
TV/Movies / Re: FG Asks Multichoice To Suspend DSTV, GOTV Price Increase by ZEEZAR: 3:37pm On Aug 27, 2020
I don't understand why the Federal Government is trying to conduct the affairs of a private owned business. Satellite tv is not public utility. If you can afford it, pay for it and if not, stick to terrestrial tv! The government is doing almost nothing to grow the economy, businesses are packing up because it is difficult to operate in this failed nation. How dare they dictate how much a company should charge! If they are so concerned about what the public views they should uplift the national tv, NTA and quit acting power hungry with private broadcasters.

Are you aware that this increase is the implementation of the 7.5% VAT by the government? This took effect since February and DStv is only now implementing the additional 2.5% increase.
Also, they have been running promos on all package. I have been paying Compact Plus and getting Premium channels. We can not blame businesses for our leaders' decisions
flokii:
Why can't NCC stop DSTV/GoTv from cheating Nigerians?

We've said it times without number that the South African company should embrace "Pay as you go" system of billing just like it is in SA and other sane climes.

Why increase tariff when people hardly get value for the money they pay. This rubbish has to stop.
TV/Movies / Re: Nigerians Groan, Protest DSTV/GOTV Tariff Increase by ZEEZAR: 2:30pm On May 31, 2020
it is not compulsory to watch DStv. The increase was on the additional 2.5% VAT increase. This cost did not take effect for almost four months. Did they not do well enough by bearing the cost? Moreso, they have been running promos on all their packages for months! I have been paying for Compact Plus and watching Premium package channels
Okd1:
Don't mind the bastard people, they are collecting the money for the channels they made free during the covid-19 strict lockdown... Before things will change in this country uprising by the youths is the solution... See what happening in America same is needed to reset things.

TV/Movies / Re: Court Stops Multichoice From Increasing Dstv Subscription Rates by ZEEZAR: 1:46pm On Aug 20, 2018
What exactly is the role of Consumer Protection Council (CPC)?
"The Consumer Protection Council (CPC) Act, enacted in 1992 is the primary law in Nigeria which centres on a pragmatic approach to enforcement of consumer rights making the Act consumer focused. Section 6 of the Act provides that consumers can bring complaints where they have suffered a loss, injury or damage while Section 8 provides for opportunity for consumers to get redress which makes the Act adequate to meet consumer rights."
ENFORCEMENT OF CONSUMER RIGHTS- It is not your right to watch Pay TV at low cost
LOSS, INJURY or DAMAGE- In this case, what exactly have we suffered? Pay TV subscription is not a necessity.I
Nigeria operates a free market economy
If CPC wants to be great, they should arrest those selling ram at inflated prices. FOOD IS A NECESSITY!

That is true. I like that GOtv can cater to any class of peopke. It gives everyone the opportunity to experience quality content at limited cost grin
Nukebeat:
This is actually quite considerate for people that don't have money for expensive platforms. Its's so cheap and comes with more sports and entertainment channels. GOtv is the way abeg! grin grin

this guys are really scamming us .... we should protest against this they don't increase south africans bouquet proces like this why must it be nigerians that would bear the cost.

Protest against a company that has increased its price? cheesy cheesy cheesy
Do you know how difficult it is to run a business in Nigeria?
This company is not owned /run by the goverment or with inexhaustible funds!

There is not one service or commodity that has not increased its price in the last one year

Why don't we protest when Peak Milk increases its price yet again. cheesy

There are several packages to choose from and they provide quality channels than others

Also, MultiChoice subscription prices remain one of the lowest and most subsidized in comparison with other countries across Africa.

that's what you see in Nigeria, the president has no certificate and will continue in office without explanation. The minister of finance the same thing and we will not ask questions, why won't DSTV increase their price without explanation? The summary of it all is that Nigerian lives don't matter.
This Daura man don finish us

When the price of Milo, Bournvita, Garri and Pepper increases, do they call a meeting to give us an explanation.
The prices of these commodities have gone up in the last one year, why should DStv be any different?

Do you know how hard it is to run a business in Nigeria? Number one terror being the lack of power supply?

Let's place our blame on the right culprits.

MultiChoice Nigeria's subscription prices remain one of the lowest and most subsidised in comparison with other countries across Africa.

Failed Nation
Incompetent Government
DSTV is suppose to be pay as you use, South Africans are even using us in Nigeria to make money
Imagine Nigeria having it's own digital cable that can show us more than what dstv is showing, there by creating massive employment for the unemployed

MultiChoice/ DStv already provides massive employment to people in Nigeria who are paid really well. Also, it has gone as far as training Nigerian youths and several others have been able to establish their own DStv outlets(offices) through MultiChoice.

You need to research this "Pay as you Use" to become an authority on it.

By the way, DStv is not the cause of our problems. The Government and the people are.
Even YOU placing the blame on a company who has helped the country is a problem

This is not about DSTV or GOtV. This is about a company that has decided to enter the market with lies and deceit.
All TSTV has done since it came on board is throw accusing fingers at others.
The most hilarious is that DSTV has jammed the signals cheesy. If it is so, report to the appropriate authority. How can you jam something that hasn't even started.
Another is about DSTV going to bribe the rights they purchased. WTH! How can that be.
TSTV is not the first national satellite TV to start. Why are they the ones with the most issues! Get your act together and JUST LAUNCH!
