Whoever came up with this news should realise that pro Biafran organisations do not get involved in Nigerian politics

The question should be why Ikwerre youths would boldly and proudly own up to killing the IPOB protesters. Whats the gain?

I would rather believe the survivors with bullet wounds. They are the best people to ask who shot at them

Abagworo:

It was some Ikwerre youths from Rumuokwurusi that killed 2 IPOB protesters not the Army. IPOB knows the whole truth but are afraid of facing facts.

Why would Ikwerre youths kill IPOB members? Besides, in the videos of those who survived with bullet wounds, they stated that it was the Army who shot at them.

How can anyone deny something that is on video?

The only thing anyone has to do go to youtube and type in 'IPOB portharcourt rally' or 'IPOB shootings in portharcourt' to find the videos of those shot

I counted at least 5 bodies of those shot by the Nigerian Army. Video evidence it powerful because unlike pictures, you cant photoshop videos.

Someone just whispered in my ears he heard the followers of El Zakzaky went and visited an Eze Ndigbo in Bauchi.

A while back IPOB had offered Shiites accomodation to relocate to SE. A warm relationship, marriage of political convenience, between Shiites and Igbos.

This is interesting if true. grin grin grin

What is the point of this thread? That Shia Muslims visited some Igbos? You couldnt find anything else newsworthy?

85% popularity that's significant. Even better than Catalan referendum results in 2014. I guess the political movement should get together and get ready for it in 2023. I say 2023 because I don't see anyone organizing in year. All the movements needs is popular political in states you suppose have the popularity.

As long as it doesn't get too militant it should work well. Like I tell others seperarists the only people who will trigger the referendum is people who want it. Catalonia it by themselves, Scotland did it by themselves, lastly Crimea to Russia.

Unfortunately no.

The democratic institutions that need to be in place dont exist.

Lets just assume Igbos or maybe Nnamdi Kanu or Uwazurike floated a party aimed at seeking independence from Nigeria, INEC most probably wouldnt register them because of their sessionist agenda.

But lets assume INEC does register them and they go on and win every political position in the SE or SE/SS area, then what?

They will still have to go to the National Assembly where Yorubas and Hausas will be waiting for them to move a motion for referendum.

With the NE/NC/NW/SW controling maybe over 80% vote at the National Assembly, what chances do you think a SE or combined SE/SS bill on independence referendum has?

Absolutely Zero!

So the basic argument here is that Lord Lugard cane from Britain and forced us all to be together, Lugard has gone back home. So let the Government conduct a referendum to know those who want to continue with Lugards 'one Nigeria' and those who wish to return to the way they were before Lugard came.

Kingsolex1:

Ironsi brought about the unitary system again their by making power centralized adding to the existing woes..

Ironsi brought the centralisation of powers but he did not bring the unitary system. Ironsi met 4 Regions, he left 4 Regions. If 4 Regions had been left, we would have still been practicing Regionalism. Gowon came in and destroyed Regionalism by abolishing the 4 Regions and creating 12 states

The North which is already suspicious of the Igbo's started the pogrom. massacring igbos in Kaduna, Zaria and kano in thousands making general ojukwu to declare Biafra

Remarkable! There are many Nigerians, particularly Yorubas, who still think Ojukwu declared Biafra for the fun of it

If for anything I am not Igbo, but I feel the pain of the millions of lives lost during the civil war, the pain, hunger, the agony and frustration. abduction of women, raping of women even children were not spared.

The gory wickedness is enough to make generations seek Biafra like the generations of today. I do not blame the youths after hearing painful stories like this I would seek the same.

The so called 'Nigerians' killed themselves to the tune of over 3 million souls in other to be together. More civilised people would say "conduct a referendum and choose who wants to be Nigerian and who doesnt

Sadly, a lot of Nigerians would actually support another war, to keep Lord Lugards creation going

My call for peace... please there is no place we all can call home apart from Nigeria, we must not allow selfish politicians push us the path of war again.. let's embrace each other. let's bolt hard the knot that binds us..

Sorry bro but home is where you call it, not where Lord Lugard called it. Unity should be by mutual acceptance and not 'by force'. If unity is 'by force', it will never bring happiness

I love the Igbos and respect their wish and call but together we are stronger divided we fall like heaps of dry leaves.

Really? It will be hard to convince an Igbo like me about that because 'one Nigeria' has cost my people over 3 million souls. But guess what? After all that, Nigeria is no better than the day Ojukwu declared Biafra.

May the soul of the innocent children, Fathers, uncles and Auntys countless of whom lost their lives in the civil war rest in peace..

God bless the Igbo Nation.
God bless Biafra
God bless Nigeria
God bless us all.

May God Bless us all and may he finally give me and my fellow Igbos along with the minorities who are comfortable with us, freedom. The freedon to seek a new begining outside the one Lugard forced us all into.

To be honest, I feel nothing but pity for you lots.. some of you will think it's envy or fear of losing igbos but there's seriously nothing to envy about you guys.

You people have nothing to sustain that region in the event of breakup. The SS that ya'll think will go with you have right to decide what they want and from all indices, they are not interested in biafra. Wike confirmed this

you people will be so poor in that region that you will end up eating yourselves with the nutrients rich ugwu leaves all over the place

Obviously we don't think alike.. igbos look in one direction and go not minding the possible outcomes and how it will favour them.. something yorubas and the North don't have
so you see why they are always the odd ones out in everything

So what is the problem of Nigeria letting them go?
Politics / Re: How Popular Is Biafran Secession Honestly? by zendy: 10:15pm On Feb 19, 2017
If a referendum is held in the greater Igbo confederation, by this I mean the 5 Igbo states (excluding the Igalas of Anambra and the Idomas of Enugu states), the Anioma area of Delta, the 6 villages of Igbanke/Igbo Akiri (Umu-oluah,Igbontor,Ake,Olije,Ottah,Idumodin) in Edo state. The Igbos of the lower Benue, the Umu-Ezeokoha people. The Rivers Igbo (Etche, Ahoada, Ndoki, Asa, Ikwerre etc)

I will be shocked if at least 85% do not vote for independence from Nigeria as Biafra.

If the referendum extends to the "proposed" area of Biafra (the SS/SE area excluding Edo state but not Igbanke plus the Igbos of the lower Benue)

I think the percentage would drop but the majority will still vote to leave.

MASSOB, IPOB BZM or even BILLIE?
cc: Igboid, ngozi123 Godprotectigbo and co.

Thats like asking who is the real Nigerian leader amongst Zik, Awolowo, Bode Thomas and all the independence agitators.

The important thing is that they all believed in the independence of Nigeria from Britain.

In that same vain, it does not matter who is the leader of of the Biafran independence movement as long as they all believe in Biafras independence from Nigeria

There people in.the North who talk about Arewa Republic, there arw those in the West who talk about Oodua Republic.

If the North ever pulls out of Nigeria as Arewa and the West pull out as Oduduwa Republic, you guys in Edo better have a plan because Biafra will definitely not take you.

Not at all. First, Agu-Iyi Ironsi never eradicated the federal structure. Ironsi met four regions when he came in and he left 4 Regions when he went out. Contrast that to Gowon who met 4 Regions just like Ironsi but left over 12 states when he left. Gowon and his Northern goons singlehandedly destroyed the federal structure if Nigeria with the tacit support of the Western Region to the detriment of the South

As a proud Igbo man, I believe in the right of self determination of my people. It is the right of Igbos to decide if they want to be part of the Nigerian project or not.

If the great Igbo nation decides that they do not want to be part of the colonial contraption called Nigeria, nobody has the right ti say otherwise.

Self determination remains the inalinable right of everyone

Weak link, my ass. What did you lot do to wrest power from the military. We remember the NADECO years clearly. Radio Kudirat and so on. Please name the SE people who agitated for the democracy we finally got in 1999. You SE people are notoriously AGIP(any government in power) people. Supporting anyone as long as they occupied the highest office in the land. Who has forgotten the horde of SE people who change bothe name and religion just to be considered worthy of government largess. Catholic Emekas turning into Alhaji Maliks, Chinonso turning to Ciroma. All because you do not have the will and fortitude and temperament to fight for what you believe in.

I remember the days when SW politicians and leaders were being canceled from the land of the living like flies all for demanding that IBB and Abacha give us democracy. It was so troublesome in fact, that Abacha was compelled to arrange a sham election. For this purpose, five political parties sprang up and four of these being populate by Igbo and Hausa all chose Abacha as their flag bearer. The only opposition party was majorly a Yoruba party. Mister, please, don't even try and reverse history.

BTW, the SW had no single arrangement or agreement with SE of your plans to secede in '67, as such, you cannot accuse us of betrayal. We agreed to nothing. The move was unilaterally yours. If the SE wants any political relevance, they must learn to cooperate with others, as we see the rash of Igbo politicians decamping to APC like olosho porting from Kuramo to Oniru.

SW owes you nothing, if you want a joint move, you would be wise to ask for teamwork in which you yourselves are fully invested. Otherwise, OYO.

You pretty much saying what Im saying without knowing it. Dont you get it? If Southern Nigeria is SW/SE/SS, guess the one who is most likely to seek a political union with the North? Bare in mind that the North seeks political and economic domination of Nigeria. It is because of them that true federalism, resource control and fiscal responsibility is never coming back.

That zone in the south who are likely to help them by perpetually seeking unity with them, they are the weak link in the south.

Pray tell what the southern cause was that the SW betrayed.
Please don't run

Of course there is a southern course. Let me teach you Nigerian history which an ognoramus like you doesnt know. Why do you think there was a Southen and Northern protectorate but never a Nigerian protectorate. The colonial masters knew that southern Nigeria should not merge with the North becuase both were better off apart. However, the ultimate goal of the colonial master was to make profit so they eventually, they did merge it.

The Southern Nigerian cause has always been along the lines of the initial sentiments of the colonial masters.

That Southern Nigeria does not need the North

If Southern Nigeria is considered to be SW/SE/SS, which one of these 3 geopolitical zones do you think is most likely to seek 'one Nigeria' with the North?

That zone is the one that is against the cause of Southern Nigeria.

Poorly educated people like you are as bad as the Almajiri up north. Hear today, the SouthWest has a mind of its own and will not sheepishly follow any region out of silly sentiments. If you want cooperation, show that you yourself are capable of teamwork and not demanding participation of others for your selfish desires.

Saying the SW betrayed/sold out SE for voting in Buhari after voting in Jonathan is akin to saying Americans are racist for voting for Trump after voting Obama twice. It is a symptom of poorly developed braincells and reasoning faculties. We don't think we are superior to anybody and we don't think we are inferior to anybody unlike you and your people who helped God to make the rest of us from inferior materials to yours.

If you are pained that Jonathan lost, you can go and do the needful and stop polluting this forum with kindergarten comments.

For some reason, you guys make everything out to be about GEJ and his election loss. I hope you guys remember there was history long before GEJ came on scene? Lets not forget what this thread is about. It is about Northern and the rest of Nigeria (the south).

In terms of Southern Nigeria politics in relation to the North, the SW has been the one betraying the cause of southern Nigeria. Of course it is the choice of the SW who the politically support and we have seen a pattern of support for the North from them since the end of the war. I think that the SW should own up to the fact they are the weakest link in Southern Nigeria.

Now how many of your so called Nigerian leaders will be ready to sarcrifice their comfort, their family and their lives for 'one Nigeria'? Not a single one of them.

Keep protesting and getting shot at if it gets you closer achieving Biafra, I have said my piece. There are other ways of parting from a country you're no longer interested in.
Not by organizing senseless protests and wrecking havoc. Muslims are no longer safe in many parts of the SE today because nnamdi kanu has made you all believe that Biafra can only be attained through bloodshed.
Here are some of the things he said in 2014;

"Anyone who voted or supported Buhari, give me a gun, I will shoot the person dead, and go to prison."

"You must come out to support what we are doing. We need guns, and we need bullets...To kill somebody is very difficult for us, so to ask a gathering of igbo people that we need guns and bullets, and weapons would be very very difficult to address, but without it, Hausa people will barrage us."

"If they fail to give us Biafra, Somalia will look like a paradise compared to what will happen to that ZOO (Nigeria). It is a promise, it is a pledge, and it is also a threat to them."

-Nnamdi Kanu...during an interview with Sahara Reporters in March, 2014

"If they do not give us Biafra, there will be nothing living in that very zoo they call Nigeria. Nothing will survive there, I can assure you...I do not believe in peaceful actualization of what ever the rubbish is called. I have never seen where you become free by peaceful means."

-Nnami Kanu...during an interview with Sahara Reporters in March, 2014.

Go out and keep getting shot at if it helps the Biafran movement. Your funeral not mine.

Well, since IPOB or Biafrans are yet to kill anyone, you can imagine how much of hypocrite you sound like. You are so concerned about Kanu's spoken words but you care far less about those who have graduated from spoken words to killing unarmed people. People like your security forces. You dont care about the constitution which gives everyone the right to protest about anything. You dont care that your security forces are commiting extrer-judicial murder by firing at unarmed civilians. You dont care about the right to self determination.

The only thing you care about is continuing and maintaining the colonial fraud started in 1914 by Lord Lugard called 'Nigeria'. You guys are laughable and Kanu was 100% right when he called it a zoo full of animals because only animals reason on this level.
