What farmers really requires are subsidized agriculture inputs and direct government intervention to make agriculture more profitable them. The agricultural produce processing companies are just exploiting farmers in the North who are eager to sell immediately after harvest for livelihood. Government could intervene to buy directly to farmers in a way that they make fair gain and then sell at subsidized rate to end users or consumers.
