Sports / It's My Fault, Mikel Obi Admits Blame In PSG Defeat by zino3: 3:45pm On Feb 17, 2016
After his club’s Tuesday night loss to French club, Paris Saint-Germaine (PSG), Chelsea of London and Super Eagles of Nigeria midfielder, John Mikel Obi has admitted that he is at fault.
Mikel was quoted by British tabloid, Daily Mail UK as saying that he should have known better than to make an amateur’s mistake while in front of one of the world’s most deadly strikers.
Mikel is however happy with his Champions League goal and is confident that Chelsea can win their Champions League tie.
“I had to get one for the team,' said Mikel. 'It was good to score. The first goal was a big deflection from me and my foul that I committed.
“I had to make the foul because he was going deeper and deeper into the box. And I know I had to make a challenge, either to get the ball or foul him, but then the deflection was a big one.
“So, it was my foul, I got booked and then the deflection. So it was three things. But we came back strong and I got the equaliser back, which was great.
“Hopefully, this goal keeps us alive in the tie and we believe we can do it. We were disappointed losing the second goal. I thought we deserved more. But we can get a very good result at home which can see us through. We're still alive.”
“We've been through a difficult period, no doubt about it,” he continued,”But Guus has come in and settled the ship and now we're picking up results, doing really well back home in the league.
“This was the first game under Guus in the Champions League and we're still very much in the tie.
“The second leg is going to be massive and hopefully this away goal is going to be decisive. If we get a 1-0 win, we're through. We have to believe we can do it and believe in what we're doing with Guus.”
About his absence from first team action for some time, Mikel had this to say:
“It feels great to be back in the team,' said Mikel. “Sometimes it is disappointing not to be part of the team, not to play but I've always been professional.
“I never speak out, I never get upset, I carry on doing my job, coming to training every day to train with the guys who are playing.
“This is football. In one second it changes. I've always believed in myself and kept doing what I was doing and Guus came in and has given me the opportunity, and hopefully that will continue.
“It is my 10th season at the club since 2006. Maybe I'll get a testimonial soon.”

Sports / EPL Club Offers Sensational S’eagles Hitman For Sale For Younger Nigerian by zino3: 11:32am On Feb 17, 2016
After grabbing 14 goals in 26 games for the club, and refusing to leave the struggling club for a Chinese outfit that offered him about ten times how much he is currently being paid by the club, Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo has been reportedly put up for sale by English Premier League club, Watford.
According to Daily Express UK, quoting Daily Mirror UK, Watford has decided to sell the Nigerian goal machine for £12million. The report claims that so prepared is the club to let Ighalo go that it has already lined up his replacement in yet another Nigerian striker.
Ighalo is to be replaced by his one-time Granada of Spain teammate, Isaac Success, who still plays for the La Liga side.
The young striker has four goals and one assist in 22 appearances for La Liga’s 19th-placed side.
Watford’s decision is based on that the 26-year-old’s form in his debut Premier League season has attracted much attention from the big clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea after netting 14 goals in 26 games on the back of a dominating campaign in the Championship.
The move, reports say is the club’s own way of helping Ighalo achieve his dream of playing for bigger clubs.
Granada’s 20-year-old hot prospect Isaac Success is said to be Watford’s main target, as they hope to secure the aptly-named frontman a pre-contract agreement.
The deal is certain to go through, Daily Express UK reports, because the owner of Watford, Gino Pozzo is also in control at Granada.
And with that in mind, Ighalo is set to leave Vicarage Road as he eyes to progress his career.

Sports / I Ate Bread And Water In Prison - Emenike by zino3: 10:10am On Feb 17, 2016
Newly signed West Ham striker, Emmanuel Emenike has finally broken his silence on the match-fixing allegations that led him to a Turkish prison for days even though he was innocent.
In an exclusive interview the new Hammers striker granted The Sun UK, Emenike recalled how he was treated like an animal by Turkish authorities in spite of being a star player for one of the top clubs in the country, Fenerbahce.
Emenike says he is still haunted by the difficult time he went through during the match-fixing scandal.
According to him, he spent four frightening nights in a Turkish cell after being accused of faking injury to deliberately miss a title-deciding game, surviving only on bread and water.
“My time in prison was a crazy nightmare that I couldn’t wake up from.
“I’ve never committed a crime in my life, but I was treated like a criminal, living on bread and water.
“It was not a good experience! It gave me a different perspective on life.”
He added: “When I was finally cleared I thanked God for letting justice prevail.”
Emenike’s match-fixing ordeal started in July, 2011, when he was playing for Turkish club Karabukspor where just after eight weeks of joining, he was arrested as part of a football corruption investigation and accused of deliberately missing a match against Fenerbahce with a fake injury — in return for getting a move to the Turkish giants.
Fenerbahce won the game 1-0 to clinch the title, but two weeks later the champions were alleged to have rewarded Emenike by signing him for £9million. Emenike and Karabukspor denied the allegations and his club produced a doctor’s certificate verifying his injury but that did not stop the Turkish authorities from throwing him in jail before he was eventually released by a Turkish court for lack of evidence.
Although Emenike was released after four days, the investigation continued and he was not acquitted until April 2013.
Emenike remembered how about two years later after he was acquitted, he was on the team bus that was shot at by a gunman on its way to Trabzon airport in Turkey. The driver was wounded and taken to hospital but all the players escaped injury.
Emenike recalled: “I was on the phone to my brother when I heard a loud bang. The bus suddenly swerved and there was panic.
“I instinctively took cover and our security officer told us the driver had been shot. Seeing him covered in blood was scary.
“We were lucky but it brought back bad memories. I had been involved in a terrible car accident in Nigeria where my mother and I both lucky to be alive.”
