1. the other dark marbles may not be as reflective as this particular one
2. it may not have gone so close to others as it did to this one to see its own reflection.

The people who claimed Dangote refinery will never work are the same people who are now claiming Tinubu and Yorubas are working against Dangote... When we start calling them out now, they will accuse you of hating them.

Are you an idiot? He said it by himself that Government are the ones stopping him from investing in steel.
Politics / Re: When Will Soyinka Assess Tinubu's Government? by zoraro(m): 1:27pm On Jul 16
Why are you waiting for his assessment? Even a three-year-old baby or an unschooled idiot will give a correct assessment of this rudderless government, Parallel F9 (failed in all subjects).
His silence is not surprising to me. I lost most of the respect I had for him because of his very loud silence during the last government. I guess his public profile is just a facade that hides is sordid under belly, so-to-speak.

Sorry for barging in, but I think you too do not understand the situation. If the government pays the money they owe the discos, the discos won't be in debts (most government establishments don't pay electricity bills).

Jonathan was a puppet. He didn't do anything special. He met a very robust Obj era economy. I don't rate him atal. He shud have tried all possible best to ensure pdp remained in power. An hausa or Yoruba president at that time will never relinquish power in such way. This is Africa!! Maximum respect to Obj.

APC saw Jona to be a weak vessel and used propaganda to destroy him. Nonsense.

Are you stupid ? Someone grew the economy from $369.06bn in 2010 to $568.49bn in 2014, and you say "He didn't do anything special". APC were ready to burn the country in 2014/2015, and you say He shouldn't have relinquished power.

you are clearly dumb and do not know the difference or the point.

You are asking a factual question not for opinions. There is a place to get a factual answer…the source.

You ask a question that requires a factual answer from a pool made up of largely uninformed people you will get what you deserve.

That you don’t know the difference and continue to argue shows which category of nairalanders you belong….the dumb 95%!!

Please tell us the source where you got the information that nairaland is a "pool made up of largely uninformed people"? It is only a fool that will assert publicly that he is wise and all knowing.

1.Nairaland is full of dumb or equally ignorant people (95%)
2. The effort made in asking dumb people by the equally dumb is better spent visiting the appropriate disco’s website or the NERC website.
3.like I said, Nairaland is full of dumb people. The kind of people that ask dumb people for things they can find out themselves.

The point is as a supposedly educated person, your first point of call if you require official information is the official source itself. If you do not know that, then your education has been a waste because the purpose of education is to train you to think.

Your point that it is okay to ask a pool of dumb people on the internet questions because somewhere among them you may get the correct answer is a very dumb concept. Why? Because you don’t know how accurate the info you are getting is. Why not use your education and what little initiative you have and go to the source of authentic information?

You are not asking for opinions like marital advice etc, you are asking for factual information from a bunch of largely uninformed people? Does that make sense to you?

You still are not getting the point. Let me educate you, then. The point is that, there are no stupid or dumb questions and besides, you might get a new insight to a question when you see other people's answer. You get?
Also, a wrong answer could be a clue to getting the right answer for an informed person. I am not sure if that will make sense to an ITK (I too know) person, though.

It is difficult to educate the poorly educated and the uneducatable. You have access to the internet but the 1st place you go to is Nairaland?

Every disco has the list of bands on their website. It’s part of the law and they have all complied. If The OP and typical nairalanders had any brains that would have been their first port of call.

That is the kind of citizens we are. Dumb!!

Your mindset is totally wrong. Is nairaland not a part of the internet, go to websites like quora and reddit, etc. they ask even more ridiculous questions there and answers are given.

go to https://infocheck.abujaelectricity.com/

click on customer service, then on customer feeder information, then customer feeder verification, input your meter number etc.

Nigerian failed Presidents should stop jumping around the world begging investors to come and invest in a dead country with high corruption rate, difficult forex policy that makes it impossible for foreign investors to repatriat their earned profits, zero electricity supply that make production cost so exorbitant, zero security that exposes investors' lives to danger, poor citizen's purchasing power that make patronage very low, and focus on improving these negative indices first and watch how investors will be begging to come into Nigeria.

Investors are not charity organizations, neither are they philanthropists looking for poor people to help, they go to where their investment would bring them maximum profit with little capital investment.

Stop traveling around the world wasting Nigeria's scarce resources in the name of going to bring investors that will never come.

Stay in Nigeria and work seriously on how to:

1.) Improve Nigeria's national security of lives and properties, and make Nigerian lives matter no matter the tribe or religion of who gets killed by bandits or Fulani terrorists or Boko Haram or kidnappers, etc

This can be achieved through State and LGA Police, and also make LGAs fully independent of state Governors, let their allowances come straight from FG and let the election of LGA Chairman and Counselors be held same day with Governors and President and NASS

2.) Improve Nigeria's FOREX liquidity and make it easy for legitimate business owners to send out money for business purposes

3.) Reduce corruption among government officials and civil servants by reducing human interferences through digitalizing most if not all government processes.

4.) Improve electricity supply by seriously implementing the Policy or law that empowers LGAs, States, licensed private individuals and companies to start generating and distributing electricity and selling to interested Nigerians ready to patronize them but at a government regulated rate.

5.) Increase minimum wage of civil servants to like NGN100,000 and create a special wage for healthcare workers like Doctors, Nurses, Lab scientist, Pharmacists, etc

6.) Improve our electoral law by making sure every voting process is directly uploaded from polling units to iREV portal and any polling unit whose result is not uploaded to iREV 2 hours after election is concluded in that polling unit must be canceled.

Do these things and watch investors beg to come into Nigeria to invest without Nigerian President or Governor traveling around the world to beg investors to come into Nigeria

Can you imagine that? I assure you that the dept owed by other consumers will be nothing compared to this. So the government is the major problem with the power sector in Nigeria, and the funny minister of power will be shouting cost-effective tariff up and down.

Politics / Re: Power Grid Drops To 3,530MW As Rationing Persists Nationwide by zoraro(m): 2:45pm On Feb 19
faceland:
The cause of the problem is that the government does not let the discos charge a cost reflective tarrif. Ever since privatization in 2013.

I mean a private company should be able to set it's prices. It is only in Nigeria that we think government should set their prices ..crazy eh?

This means the discos cannot make a profit that would enable them pay the Gencos adequately

Meaning the gencos owe the gas people 1.3 billion dollars. Gas people are tired of not being paid

The subsidy too is itself not adequate.

I don't see government with a forex reserve of 4 billion paying debts of 1.3 billion plus what happens for tomorrow?

The solution is simple. Allow the discos charge a cost reflective tarrif. Then there would be enough profit to pay for gas and everything else.

Allow the discos charge cost reflective tarrif.

That is how all those African countries with 24 hour power supply do it. Egypt that had power subsides has cut them.

Let them use the subsidy they are paying now to improve the quality of supply greatly, then Nigerians will be willing to pay a cost-effective what ever. That is the simple solution.
Politics / Re: Power Grid Drops To 3,530MW As Rationing Persists Nationwide by zoraro(m): 2:29pm On Feb 19
This minister of power is a very funny man. He knows the problem with the power sector like the back of his hand, which he keeps reciting every opportunity he gets. Too bad he has absolutely no clue as to the solutions, except that cost-effective tariff rubbish he sings about every time . What a shame.
