That has been my orobkrn with these people, double standards.

Only if things could be less volatile up north...

Yap, we may need answers frm our muslim folks.

What do you mean by "way of life" and communication problem?
Second, I know some of my cousins who married Hausa peeps there, so I'm just thinking how they did it without "toasting" the girls.

Please expand on these.
Thank you

1. Let me start wit Communication(language barrier), indeed most corpers have issues when they want to buy something, or to locate places. The Hausas are deeply engrossed in Hausa speaking and they are comfortable with it even in govt schls and orgnstns.

2. The peoples way of life in Kano cannot be even compared wit some northern states like kaduna, plateau, niger, - talkless of coming from d south where clubs, hotels, brothels, k**s**g in public/ hugging/partying, beer parlor, and joints are very common. Am sure u must heard of d HISBA board(whose sole objective is fighting against all sort of these immoralities). So u need 2 adapt.

3. Its true, intermarriages often occurs between a southerner and the hausas but majority are not wit their daughters(believe me, b4 it happens, a serious fight do occurs wit both parties coz of religious/cultural differences. Some parents even disown their daughters). And u know, Kano ar vry religous, A Muslim man is allowed to marry a Christian woman, but a Christian man is not permitted to marry a Muslim woman. Better u stay off!

90% of people's perception that Kano is volatile is not true, coz I grew up from a northern Christian family in kano.

I can boldly say it, I knew about 15 corpers that ar currently engaging in quite lucrative jobs here in Kano after their Nysc. One Ifeanyi is ofcourse working with the state Science and Technicals schools board as a civil servant since 2008 and has acquired land and living peacefully with his neighbours _majority ar muslims_, of which am very sure is difficult for a non indigine from north to work in the state civil service of states like abia, delta, imo and so.

The only serious problem u may encounter apart from means of communication is NEVER to joke wit their way of life, most importantly, don't abuse or derogate their prophet or Islam, coz if u try it ehn, believe me, u will not live 2 see 2morow. And for d male corpers enh, refrain from any rlntship or trying to toast deir daughters. Then u ar good to go!

I could remember when we were posted to abia -umunna bende, those market women were shouting BOKO HARAM at us despite about 3 of us Christians frm North. - This does not happen in kano.

brotundes:

Police recruitment test
successful, says Okiro
The Chairman, Police Service Commission, Mr
Mike Okiro, on Wednesday said the aptitude
test for recruitment into the Nigeria Police
Force across the country was successful.
He said this in a statement issued by Mr
Ikechukwu Ani, the Head, Press and Public
Relations of the commission in Abuja.
Okiro, who is also the National Coordinator for
the recruitment, said reports from the aptitude
test centres showed that the exercise was
orderly.
He noted that there were initial hitches on the
first day of the exercise, but that it had
normalised on the second day.
The PSC chairman explained that some of the
problems were related to applicants who did
not receive invitation through emails for the
tests.
He said that the commission had issued a
statement asking such candidates to
crosscheck their names on the master list
pasted at the venues.
He added that some of the applicants did not
have email accounts but generated one at
business centres which they never went back
to check.
Okiro said that state coordinators were
directed to admit applicants who had no
copies of their invitation through emails but
had their names in the master list.
The chairman said the commission would
begin screening of documents and physical
attributes of the Specialists on Aug. 29.
The commission had shortlisted 110,469
applicants out of the 338,250 invited for the
just concluded screening in 36 states of the
federation and the FCT for the tests.
The tests, which started on Monday, ended
today at the various centres across the
country.

These ar things we need to be keeping in touch, not some sort of stupid and uncalled arguments.

Hopefully, the outcome of d aptitude test will not be padded as I saw those politicians on our exam date throwing some silly looks at us..
Asking like what exactly brought them to the exam centre

Recruitment : PSC warns applicants against activities of fraudsters
ON August 2, 2016 6:30 PM / IN News / Comments

Abuja - The Chairman, Police Service Commission ( PSC), Mr Mike Okiro, has warned unsuspecting applicants to beware of activities of fraudsters.
This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Ikechukwu Ani, Head, Press and Public Relations of the commission on Tuesday in Abuja.
Okiro said that he had no face book account and had never operated any before.
He advised applicants to restrain themselves from being desperate for recruitment into the Force.

The chairman said that the fraudsters had started demanding money from applicants of the ongoing recruitment.

"The Commission recently concluded the State screening and would in no distant time begin the second phase of the process leading to the recruitment, "he said.
He reiterated his earlier statement that the recruitment would be transparent and based on merit.

Okiro said that the commission would resist any pressure to undermine or compromise the integrity of the process and the outcome of the exercise.
He said anybody paying for any assistance to be recruited into the force would be disappointed.

He stressed that security operatives were on the alert to arrest those giving and those that were receiving.

The chairman advised the public to report to the commission any underhand practices in respect of the recruitment.
“If they ask you to bring money, whether the fraudsters, our Staff or Policemen, report to us and we will arrest and prosecute the person or persons,"he said.
He said that successful applicants from the state screening would soon be invited for the next level of the process.
