So sad. When u imagine d extent of devastation this bombing caused to fellow humans your mind begins to ponder if its really true d saying that all is fair in war.

US being so smart and sensing that they can equally be on d receiving end of such devastating nuclear attack quickly spearheaded the UN treaty to check nuclear arms proliferation.

Though I understand that the Americans acted rashly out of anger from japans ruthless maiming of marines at pearl harbour but a wise man acts slowly when provoked to anger. Nothing jusifies d nuking of a civilian population.

I am sure even the American military and scientists that created the A. bomb didn't know the exact magnitude of disaster it was capable of inflicting since Hiroshima was the first place it was ever tested because it was hurriedly put together by A. Einstein and his team.
One would ask why then did they drop the second one at Nagazaki having seen the effect of the first bombing. But remember that Japan carried on with the WW2 for a whole 6 months after Germany, the main dramatis personae, had surrendered and they were unstoppable.
In my opinion, the bombing helped to break Japan's fighting will which persuaded them to discontinue the war.
