I don't think so but it's important for Schgeng visa.

Thanks. Sad to say, I don't believe I will be doing anymore international travel this year and doubt if I will entertain any visitors staying over either. It's rather sad that it's only April and the entire year is probably written off. This staying at home thing is not easy wherever you are!

Hi fam.
What’s the fate of the valid B1/B2 visa for someone with a denied F1 visa. Will the B1/B2 automatically be cancelled??

Hello all,

Does anybody have an info on when the embassy will be opened since the lockdown has now been eased? How soon should people start applying? Please anyone with insider info should share. Thanks

We have to wait for the US Federal system to announce lockdown is over for Federal employees. The embassy runs with the US Government schedule and calendar. Nigeria's lockdown easing won't influence their decision. I need that announcement also

I don't think so. They are different visas and that will be a punitive measure

Hello everyone!

Does anyone have an idea if the US consulate in Lagos is still receiving visa applications and scheduling interviews for non-immigrant visa at this time?

It will not affect your valid B1B2 visa, only that you can't use B1B2 in place of F1 while in the US.

it was in February-early March, I was due to travel to a University in DC for a symposium in May. Book a flight now. Book one now. Hold it down. The price will go higher blah blah blah. I looked at the dynamics myself at the time. I asked plenty of questions--endlessly.

I was not wrong. Considered many things in my own endI held down with flight booking. Boom... crisis came to the fore. Best decision ever. Used my money for the family. Went shopping. Stocked the house hahahah. Owo flight ma ti burn niyen

U want to travel, no dey rush rush. Whether na application, interview, and flight things, be cool. Be very cool. Take your time. Seek for advice. But use ur smarts and listen to your instincts.

If you are destined to travel, u go travel. U will travel. No hurries. Peace out!

Take your time

You can get the answer to that question from the Embassy of the U.S.A website.
As of today this is the information available.

There is no mention of date on there. If you know its on there please post the link

Unless you meant they ( the embassy) will post it when they ready

I have updated my earlier post with a link.
And from what I understood after reading it . Is that visa issuance at the USA embassy is still on hold and there is no date for resumption yet.

Good. You said it like the date was there but thanks for the correction.

I also think that while DOS will give direction on when to open. The actually opening will be dependent on the consulars overseas as different countries are still going through reopening procedures. Nigeria being an example.

So the best example will be the website of the embassy in Nigeria not that of the DOS

The virus must have vanished or drastically reduced by JUNE.

So, by JULY/AUGUST visa appointement cum interviews will start.

They all did. If their planes are grounded, why will they sell tickets with dates you cant travel on.
Go to any and pick May 30 or June 15 as a travel date and let's know the response.

You are right! I thought they all strategically left it open with a caveat that the flight may not operate and only reschedules are possible so they can hold on to that revenue
