Which country do you've in mind? I was thinking of same thing, but from googling, apart from Nigeria, there's no Portuguese Embassy in West Africa, only Cape Verde.

I never run that one, I heard AXA MANSARD is the preferred insurance company for portuguese visa. My only concern is the return flight ticket ( seems we have to present a paid flight ticket).

I was at the embassy yesterday for legalization.
From the notice they pasted, both visa and legalization has been put on hold till further notice.
