He does have the right to have a personal life outside the office. He has the right to have friends and to associate with them. Nobody can take that right away from him.

The problem for him is that he will be judged for those associations and he cannot escape that judgement. As the occupier of the highest office in the land, he will be judged by the company he keeps. If his 'friends' are unsavoury characters he will be judged accordingly. It is what it is.

Oh yes it does.

Every millisecond he spends on these people is one less millisecond to be spent on the things that really matter. It is a zero sum game - the NURTW gains and the rest of the country loses.

The Tinubu administration is slowly being defined by a series of hard negatives. Some of us knew the true nature of this administration could not remain hidden for long, but there are some naive people who are genuinely surprised at the way things have turned out. Those people have my sympathy...and unfortunately, the worst is yet to come.

This NURTW nonsense is just one example of the gradual but persistent coarsening of the culture by the Tinubu administration. It is like a cancer that is spreading, slowly but surely. Skilled workers will look back in regret years from now and wonder how a transport union of extremely dubious value gained such prominence...and those workers will kick themselves for allowing it to happen on their watch.

There are several trade unions in this country adding real value and their net contribution to society is positive. These NURTW misfits on the other hand are a significant drain on our collective mental and physical energy and they automatically degrade and devalue all that they come in contact with. We will all look back someday and wonder how the dregs took over and decided they would choose how society should be run...and we stood idly by and let it happen. undecided

At the meeting, President Tinubu reconciled MC Oluomo and the new Chairman of NURTW (Lagos Chapter) Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle(first right) who's popularly known as Sego.
