With or without the coastal road, Eko Atlantic was going to reclaim / sandfilled the 8.5km stretch of the coastline during phases 4, 5, and 6 up to Twin waters Tower. This is public knowledge. The maps have been in existence since 2005.

Landmark was only buying time. Without Eko Atlantic and the seawall, the ocean would have eroded the beach up to water corporation drive.

Blue Arrow below is the Lagos sea wall also called great wall of Lagos..

Prior to the sea wall, the federal government was Sand filling with around billions of naira every year and the ocean will wash it away. Tinubu and Fashola came up with the brilliant plan of the wall. Hence the popular saying that Tinubu tamed the ocean.

One idiot from Agulu is talking nonsense. When Tinubu was working on the Eko Atlantic project, that idiot called Peter Obi was busy using Awkuzu Sars to kill Igbo youths.

The idiot with no legacy project in Anambra has now become an expert on coastal road.

Ask Peter Obi and his Obidients why they didn't criticise the construction of the Second Niger bridge despite the bad roads in the South East. But because this Coastal road doesn't include Igboland, Peter has suddenly become an activist.

There is Mami Chula lifestyle beach as well (owned by Bolaji Ariyo) that's affected, and several Oniru family properties, but Obidients are wailing on behalf of landmark, even more than the owner of landmark himself.

Agenda must agend. For the headless mob, only a South Easterner whose property was affected is allowed to cry as the victim.

The owner of Landmark was just a politician masquerading as a investor. He said he saw the beach lying fallow and decided to build it up... Without any recourse to federal government the owners or official permit. Is that how things are done in the abroad country he claimed he came from. He was just trying to blackmail the government emotionally to let his personal investment investment be on the beach. The beach is a public property. If he wants to build a proper beach resort he should buy/rent a beachland properly and accordingly and from the rightful owners too which is the F. G.
Thank God his blackmail failed and the road will progress. Gov. Soludo is busy destroying houses everyday in Anambra for new roads but you'll never hear Obi talk. But once it comes to Lagos, you'll see him Obi jumping like a loosened monkey claiming he now loves Lagos more than his SE. Enemies of progress will keep failing.

We will always hear them vilify Federal government for not building sea ports in the East, can't the Landmark owners take their beachside business to the East too or the sea over there is only suitable for Sea port but not beach bizness grin

There are certain questions begging for answer as regards the Lagos Calabar coastal high way, and by extension the situation of landmark and other property owners that will be affected.

First and foremost, there was an initial road design, which property owners around that area followed and observed before erecting their structures.

All of a sudden, there was a change in design. Land Mark was given a seven days notice which was later extended to 14 days. This change in design is going to cost govt more because compensations will be paid to property owners that will be affected.
secondly, there will be great loss of jobs as businesses will be destroyed. The initial design avoids these unnecessary demolitions and saves the govt billions. Jobs will also be saved, why is govt embarking on this frivolous spending and wrecking of businesses when there is a better alternative?

The cost of the project and the way it was awarded is also an issue of National concern. The project cost is at #4 Billion per kilometer. Total cost is about #16 Trillion. The entire 36 states budget is about #14 Trillion. Already about one trillion naira has been paid to HITECH.
How are they going to source the #16 Trillion Naira? Govt has given conflicting addresses on the source of funding for the project.

Why spending the #16 Trillion Naira on a new project when there are already existing roads like the east west road that is calling for serious attention which still serves the same purpose.

Why is the project starting only in Lagos? Shouldnt it be starting at different phases like Cross River and Delta state to expedite the execution?

A lot of things are not making sense about the project.

For those who still don’t understand the game, Lagos -Calabar coastal highway is gimmick.
The grand plan is to shy away from the responsibility of fixing the existing federal roads linking SS through SE to SW.
Propaganda and lamba as usual. But at the end, they have used your head as usual and Lagos once again would be the ultimate winner.

Without a doubt.

All these fools making noise are ignorant of the situation in that area before Tinubu. I still remember the ocean surge that was constantly flooding the area back then. It was Tinubu that turned the tide and created Eko Atlantic in the process.
That's a visionary man.
Without the barriers and Eko Atlantic, there wouldn't even be Lnadmark in the first place.

Amadu Bello Way used to be flooded and the guest houses that used to be on that road were being abandoned one at a time. I know because I used to rent some of the rooms back then when on Holiday to Nigeria.

May God continue to bless Tinubu and may God continue to bless Nigeria.

Landmark and his associates knows how sensitive topics such as Lagos, tribe and politics are in the country at the moment. We are at the age of sensationalism in Nigeria. Journalism without sensationalism is not going to attract traffic hence this unnecessary uproar.

Nothing to understand. Summary is that you have two developments that were wrongly cited but a someone was paid to make one look like a good idea and the other a horrible development.

You might have your reservations about government, justifiably so considering the way politicians steal mercilessly and do things with a hidden agenda however it's not all the time the government is wrong.lets be objective here.sometimes they mean well and forget o, governor jide sanwoolu is someone I like and I like his leadership style.he identifies a problem and he doesn't waste time in fixing it.same with governor seyi makinde
