Ikaeniyan0: Trust me, you have no idea what $200 million means - If you do, you'd realize that the place isn't even worth the amount you mentioned. I advise you to take a closer inspection of the property, you'll notice that it's constructed on the beach or government land. Na Pray we go pray for una.

COPIED - 100yrs ago, entire place was land owned by the Oniru family. - Over a century the beach was lost to the ocean till the erosion started threatening VI till early 2000s - 2003- BAT engaged Hitech to build the “Wall of Lagos”, reclaim the land and build Eko Atlantic. Reached agreement with Oniru before project on ownership of the land to be reclaimed. - 2007ish- the idea of the coastal road was birthed, to start from Eko Atlantic. - 2007 Landmark bought property backing the “ocean” which is e basically land that based on plan will be reclaimed. With a clearly marked fence that ends just before the water that based on plan will be reclaimed. - - 2017 ish Landmark went to his “backyard and created a football pitch” on a land that he didn’t buy and was collecting money. - 2018ish- Landmark continued expanding on land that they didn’t buy, building shanties and charging money. - 2019-20 Landmark grew bolder and was selling shops space on the beach to businesses. I have to emphasize, on the beach front that he did not buy. - Around 2019/20 Oniru beach also opened up. - Around 2021, LaCampagne also joined them. - 2023- Lekki Deep seaport was completed. Opening up additional economic activity on the coastal line. - 2023- BaT was elected, coastal Hitech revisited their old friend and proposed to start phase 1 that links Eko Atlantic to Deep Seaport - 2024- project started, Road is supposed to pass through LandMark’s “backyard that they didn’t buy. - FG gave notice to everyone including Onirus (that owned the land before it was lost to the sea) and LaCampagne. - Everybody knew this day would come, so everybody Jejely vacated land that they know they did not buy. Landmark said lailai and started media rounds. - 2024- Landmark claimed they have $200m investment on the beach. - Umahi visited and conceded that rather than have 100m corridor, the one at his side will be 50m, and gave Landmark engineering tips to retain the tourism. - Landmark said coastal road should pass in front of property, not the back. The front is 2 line a road, the coastal road is supposed to be 10 lanes. With 100m corridor. Landmark’s proposal will actually affect the land he bought, if accepted. - Last weekend Umahi carried on as planned. Destroyed the shanties on the beach worth “$200m”. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

[quote author=Curious345 post=129729535]Landmark alone is entitled to over N350b . $200m x ₦1,288= ₦257. 6b Then add 37% of ₦257.6b to compensate for interest on loans obtained.. ~~~₦257.6 + ₦95.312b = ₦352.912b is what tinubu should pay landmark ltd[/quote LOl 1 Kobo, he is not getting, according to the minister. grandstar: I'm sure it's not even worth 10 percent of that especially knowing that he doesn't own the beach. In the same way, they always claim that they are all Bilionares. 1 Like 1 Share |

Dpharisee: Exactly! Tinubu is desperately rushing to give the contract to his cronies Chagoury brothers who are known to be of dubious character! Hitech does not have the capacity, technical know how and pedigree to do this kind of job. Julius Berger should have been given the contract but there was no tender at all and Hitech was awarded this job. What at all is the pressing need for this project when there is no reliable electricity nor security in the country for the citizens to be more productive? It is all about siphoning enough money and kick-backs for Tinubu to further entrench his corrupt influence in all spheres of the country's economy as preparation for 2027 election and beyond |

Curious345: Will you people keep quiet and stop saying what you don't know? I was condemning the FG till I discovered only the temporary huts and pools in front of landmark was affected. Check the videos online. No major building belonging to landmark was demolished. All the videos online, it was the by-structures, swimming pools etc that were affected. None of Landmark's building was demolished. I also hope that when the coastal road is done, you all don't use it since it's a bad idea afterall. 1 Like |

Bobby4090: But is the project/road truly necessary now, when most of the Federal roads in Nigeria are in a state of disrepair? The compensation alone should have been properly utilized to fix federal roads. This project is another that would not be completed in the next 10 years, but fixing federal roads will have immediate positive effect on the economy, commerce, etc in Nigeria. |

Curious345: It’s like you don’t read the news. FG is not paying landmark any kobo. His properties were not touched so why will FG pay compensation for their land? The only people that are being paid are those that have business in those tents that was demolished. Those are being paid already by Umahi. |
