Spyder what is the roofing tile you have on this thread called and how much is It?

This is the classic model of the 'stone coated metal roofing tiles'. They sell this for between N3200 to N2700 depending on the seller, model and type.

spyder880:

Solignum sells for N2500 per tin and 2 tins will be enough to treat the wood for the size of your BQ.

@ Spyder Thanks a lot, very helpful as always.

Thanks Spyder880, the Solignum info is very useful to me too as my Boys Quarter of 2 Flats in Sango-Otta
with One bedroom/1 livingRoom/veranda/Kitchen/Large Bathroom will be roofed sometimes next week.
I will give details and costs when it finished. Thank you for that info.

Seems like you used 9" blocks there?

YES we used 9" on the outside walls only, because there are no pillars, except those you see for the arc veranda.
We used 6" in the side partitions. It's not easy try to build house when you are outside the country.
There is a duplex in front of the BQ with the construction/project still going on too.
I need that BQ completed quickly for keeping materials for the duplex.

Note: You are seeing only one side of the BQ in that photo, the second part is of the same style and size.

Thanks.

Thanks. Compared to color aluminum which is better?

Stone coated tiles are believed to be much better. Relatively new in this country compared to aluminium and the good old zink. Stone coated is much heavier and might last longer.

I will show pictures of work progress here, roofing almost completed. More pictures later.

Good job

The complete set will cost around N40k to buy and install. From the earthing to this arrestor in the above picture. But to show how it is mounted is risky o, so that Spyder does not crashland from the top of the house.grin grin

Hahaha. I understand. But will the copper bar run on the roof or will it be underneath the roof sheet to the ground. Have already done my roofing and my electrician doesn't seems to know how to instal it

The copper bar is sometimes laid on the top of the roofing tiles but it is better to run beneath the roof. Keeps the roof free and fine.

Is it safe to lay the copper "bar" beneath the roof? Considering the amount of voltage they dissipate. I've only seen "exposed" ones

Long time my man grin

Well, because of the fear of the voltage it should always be "earthed" the full procedure will be applied to make it safe. When I say underneath, I mean just under the roofing sheets, laid on the wood and passed above the ceiling outside the room down to the earthing prepared for it.

Everything spent on this house, including all materials, labour costs of all works, all logistics and management and supervision, even the entertainment and all the pammy drank has cost a sum total of N8,881,400.00

This amount covers all the works to those last pictures you see on this page, including the whole parapet and roofing process till completion of the roofing stage.
