Re: Beauty Of Natural Hair Thread :) by Nobody: 1:20am On Sep 29, 2013 |
*Kails*: Yes.. I do the LOC method in her hair with Shea Moisture conditioner mixed with water for the "L" - Coconut oil for the "O" - and Shea Butter mixed with Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie Cream for the "C" ... Typing that out makes it seem like a lot, but we don't really use many products at all.. For styling hold I just use gorilla snot. 1 Like |

SniperInADiaper: @red VERY GOOD!! using too many products is the number one reason some women experience breakage and hair damage! shea butter is awesome!! i changed up my entire hair regimen! I use Cantu Shea butter conditioner/shampoo, the actual shea butter and the curl lotion!! i even use shea butter oil |

MsDarkSkin: I want to try to whip some shea butter and coconut oil together... I use cantu shea butter sometimes but prefer the shea moisture line. Its more pricey but smells better |

SniperInADiaper: I've never done it but I have seen some women say they do it on youtube videos. I suppose it's a good idea (moisture + sealant in one) and you are tripping! cantu shea butter smells like HEAVEN! |

SniperInADiaper: Sniper u really know your stuff girl..it took me a while before i found out about the LOC method, i do LCO for my hair cuz its more effective for me. Your daughter has a very similar hair texture to mine, my curls are are crazier though they do whatever they want. Shea moisture is great stuff, the curl enhancing smoothie is my fave. |

caribchic: That most recent pic of her I did NOT do the LOC method on.. long story.. but I had taken out yarn twists and it was just a tangled mess of a wash and go.. I was in a hurry and just put gorilla snot on it to help tame it some.. When I use the LOC method I can get more definition in her curls, but I still don't leave it out much. The tangles are a nightmare. Ive never tried switching it to LCO because this works for us... It took me a while to find what worked for us tho.. Which products do you use for your hair? |
Re: Beauty Of Natural Hair Thread :) by Nobody: 6:35am On Sep 29, 2013 |
^^ Hair like mine is prone to tangling man, especially if I leave a wash n go for more than a couple of days...I have taken the scissors to my hair in frustration from that more than once. I co wash my hair every other day because i live in a blazing country and washing my hair feels heavenly, i don't even use combs anymore i just finger detangle under the shower stream with conditioner in my hair. You should def stick with the shea moisture products if they're working for her, they're amazing but not as accessible where i live. I don't put a million and one products in my hair, less is def more for my hair..especially stylers like gels and pudding, thats where the nightmare detangling session starts with me and i aint bout that life. I aslo dont do a lot of long term protective styles, days when i dont wear it out i just throw it back in a bun..but a couple times a year i do install some fly a$s hip length senegalese twists, which i'm rocking right now lol. The products I use: Cleanse: ACV once a week...Pantene Truly Natural Co-wash every other day Rinse-out conditioner : Tresemme naturals or tresemme curl hydration (ah-mazing shizz) Leave-in : i leave some of the conditioner in my hair from washing..(days when i don't wash i just spritz some water) Sealant: shea butter whipped with coconut oil Deep condition: once a week i DC with ORS replenishing pak or just a mix of oils and honey. Styling: World of curls pudding or flax seed gel i make. |

Hey ladies... I've been on my natural for about a year now and I'm soo loving it. But The hair isn't even. So now I'm wondering how I could get to trim off the uneven part. That's my major problem. Any help?? |
