ABUJA — Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro yesterday dared the House of Representatives on the N1,000 on-line application fee charged those seeking employment in the agency, insisting that there was no going back on the fees. Following complaints about the fee by applicants, the House of Representatives had directed the Ministry of Interior to cancel the fee. But speaking at the inaugural meeting of the Ministerial Committee on Para-military Village Housing Scheme Development project Nationwide in Abuja, the minister said the fee subsisted. He said he was not bothered by the opposition to the fee by the House of Representatives, noting he was doing the right thing. “Parastatals and I do know the hazards of life threatening for the ordinary person, but I am aware that we are coming from a background of a distorted process of recruitment into the Nigeria Immigration Service where it was alleged that the process was compromised. “What we have decided to do is to attempt a new police design that is employed by the Nigeria Police Force, and employed by the Nigerian Air Force and the Nigerian Army in processing applications for recruitment into the service.” Moro urged the committee to take responsibilities in the discharge of its duties. He said: “I told you on assumption of duty here that it is no longer going to be business as usual, you either prepare to work and ship in or you prepare not to work and ship out.” I Love dis minister. He got d guts! Let's go dere. 1 Like |

Why Interior Ministry is Charging Fees for Recruitment: Minister of Interior, Mr. Abba Moro, Thursday stated that the payment of N1,000 recruitment fees by applicants seeking employment through online into the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) and other parastatals was to reduce the cost of processing applications and to inject more transparency and credibility into the recruitment process. The minister made the disclosure in Abuja, while inaugurating a seven-member committee on paramilitary village housing scheme development project in 24 states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The committee is headed by the Director, Paramilitary Services, Mr.Amuga Kefftin Esau. Speaking further, Moro averred that the applicants needed not to embark on unnecessary risk of travelling long distances merely to submit applications for employment, stressing that instead, the applicants, who could not afford the online charges, have the option of submitting the hard copies of their applications to the ministry. “So if you want online application for the purpose of processing your application for the engagement into the ministry or parastatals, you go online, if you don’t want online, you submit your hard copy application to the ministry or agency, so Nigerians are free to choose which option they think they want,” he said. Asked if the N1,000 was being charged applicants as fees to obtain recruitment forms into parastatals in the ministry, the minister said: “Let me tell you for the umpteenth time that it borders me to the extent that people have refused to understand because of their entrenched interest, but it doesn’t border me because I feel that it is the right thing to do.” According to him, it is more beneficial for the ordinary Nigerians in terms of cost benefit analysis, adding: “It is more cost effective to visit the website and get registered and get interviewed and get employed into the ministry and its parastatals and I do know that the hazards are far more life threatening for the ordinary person.” The minister admitted that past recruitment exercises have not been transparent, explaining that: “I am aware that we are coming from the background of a distorted process of a controversial process of recruitment into the NIS, where it was alleged that the process was compromised, that integrity was not injected that it was not transparent.” He said what the ministry was doing was in line with President Goodluck Jonathan transformation agenda, which was to refuse that line of insanity. “Albert Einstein, would say doing things over and over with the same method and expecting different result.” he said. While acknowledging that there is need for a paradigm in old employment process, Moro stressed: “And so if we have been doing it in one and it was not giving us the desired result, what we have decided to do is to try and attempt a new design that is employed by the Nigerian Police Service, Nigerian Navy, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the Nigerian Army in processing applications into their Services. “I do not see why this one becomes an exception and I can tell you today that the consulting firm has the approval of the Ministry to charge N1,000 on the advice of the Federal Character Commission (FCC). “I can tell you today that, none of the other services that we have mentioned charges less than N2,000 to access the portal that they are using and so for crying out loud, what else do they want. “And don’t forget that we have issued a very comprehensive statement here that if you do not want to access application online, you have the option of remitting to the ministry or the NIS hard copies of your applications and so the options are very clear. So, if you want online application for the purpose of processing your application for the engagement into the ministry or parastatals, you go online, if you don’t want online, you submit your hard copy application to the ministry or agency, so Nigerians are free to choice which option they think they want.” For now, he said the ministry was on the right path in its recruitment drive, adding: “We think that it is the right thing to do to reduce cost and inject more transparency into the exercise to ensure that applicants do not take the necessary risk of travelling long distances merely to come and submit applications for employment.” |

After sharing past questions throughout five pages of this thread, Lawal still added a direct link to download it easily. Yet, u want to turn this thread into a tutorial class? Haba, study the questions on your own and get a current affairs book if need be. This thread is mainly to share information regarding the recruitment process only. Pls open a new thread for 'immigration exam tutorials', I'm sure some people will be interested. Wish you the best! *no offence intended pls* |
