Tips to My Governor, My Governor!! Owelle shouldn't award MANY elephant projects in this tenure. He should complete the 27 general hospitals, the 305 schools, the centenary towers, 3 ongoing universities and ensure that Shoprite is completed before he leaves since he couldn't give us Heartland Shopping centre. Then he should also focus mainly on industrial revolution, fixing rural roads, electrifying rural communities and sinking thousands of boreholes in rural areas in Imo. As it is now, he initiated projects he may not complete...all uncompleted projects are USELESS! |

Nature129: I think the schools are almost entirely completed. He also did mostly rural roads in 1st term. What I ask of him is to complete the 27 hospitals and make name for his generations unborn. He should do less investment in Owerri city but mark the roads and clean up Douglas road. I passed Owerri and was highly impressed with level of cleanliness aside the Douglas area. He should be selfless in demolision and expansion of the road. 2 Likes 1 Share |

http://leadership.ng/opinions/433835/how-okigwe-zone-determined-outcome-of-imo-governorship-election-2 “We are here to celebrate a man of principle, a dogged fighter, a man who stands for justice and a man who has ensured that imposition of candidates by any political party in Imo State has come to an end. Political parties now know better than impose candidates with impunity. The man who ensured that this will never happen again is Senator Ararume and that is why we are celebrating him”, Chief Udemadu explained. Similarity, the speaker of Imo State House of Assembly was more emphatic “This victory party today is like a home coming for me because Senator Ararume is my leader. We are from the same Okigwe zone and I thank God that we are working together now. He has through his actions in the governorship elections demonstrated that he is the politician you can’t ignore. He is principled and he is a worthy ambassador of democracy”, the speaker gushed. In his own contribution, the director general of Destiny Campaign Organization, Hon Independence Ogunenwe declared thus, “Our leader, Senator Ararume has set a standard to wit, a thief should not be allowed to reap from the fruits of his loot. Our leader has put the interest of Imo at the forefront by denying the robbers victory”. Governor Okorocha who was represented on the occasion by his Chief of Staff, Chief Jude Ejiogu also described Senator Ararume as a game changer who has impacted positively on the political fortunes of APC. “You call him the game changer and that is what he is. He really changed the game in the governorship election”, he said. Apparently, Ararume is not satisfied with changing the game in the governorship election. He wants PDP permanently buried in Imo State. “The PDP is gone”, he said repeatedly while acknowledging the encomiums poured on him by both the governor and other speakers at the event. While thanking his supporters for heeding his advice to work for APC and Okorocha, he declared that PDP will soon sink in the state. “The PDP has paid heavily for its crass impunity and I don’t want to talk of that party. I am happy that you heeded my call to vote for Okorocha and by your actions, we have made it loud and clear that the least we can do is to ensure that no political robber is allowed to benefit from his actions”, he said. He reminded his followers that the decision to support Okorocha does not stop at voting for him. “We must continue to support his government. He has assured me that he will double his effort to ensure that his second tenure is dedicated to the service of Imo people. So, I want all of you to support him. I will not want any of us to criticize him on the pages of the newspaper or the media. If you have misgivings along the line, avail yourself of our internal mechanism of complaint and I assure you that your complaints will get to him and amends will be made”. He predicted that in the next four years, all the South East states shall become APC states promising that he will work tirelessly to actualize that. “We shall work with Governor Okorocha, who by virtue of being the only APC governor in the South East is the leader of the party in the zone, to ensure that come 2019, all the South East states shall become APC states”. Because Ararume is not given to flippancy; because he has remained a formidable political force in Imo State since 1999; and because of his track record of service and vast connections which saw him playing big at the national arena between 1999 and 2007 when he was a Senator, PDP should actually begin to relocate from the South East. 1 Like

Abagworo:IMSG should build industries in Imo State so as to encourage Imolites to come home, make a living and contribute to the devt of the state. If govt can't manage them, they may privatise them later. Some of us are away from home working and doing biz, but we wish we were home though some conditions at home are not right. These conditions explain why students finish from futo, imsu, nekede, etc but relocate to Lagos, Abuja, and PH in search of jobs. 1 Like |

Nature129: Every Nigerian apart from traders is looking for job in Lagos, Abuja and PH. I am totally against Government involving itself in financial leakages like industries. The only advice I can give is for Imo State millionaires and billionaires to come together and create a capital company like Obasanjo's transcorp which will accelerate corporate private sector growth in the State. Okorocha can invite us for a serious meeting and we figure out how we can contribute to establish such firm and our dream should not just stop at Imo but let us attempt South Korean stunt in Africa. 1 Like |

IMO STATE WELCOMES FIRST EVER PRIVATE UNIVERSITY History was made Wednesday, April 29,2015,as the government of the federal republic of Nigeria approved the first ever privately owned citadel of learning in IMO state, south Eastern part of the country. The federal executive council had during its council meeting approved two more universities in the country, they are ,Edwin Clark University, Delta state ,and Hezekiah University Umudi, Nkwerre, IMO state. The federal government said that some of the reasons the varsities were approved were to help solve some of the problems of lack of enough universities in the country, promote academic excellence and core values of honesty, hardwork and morality in the society. It also asserted that the institutions were given the licenses to operate having met the requirements of the law inline with the guidelines of National University Commission, NUC. Since the news of the approval of the HEZEKIAH UNIVERSITY broke into IMO state, many citizens of the state have been expressing appreciation and thanksgiving, firstly to God almighty and to president Goodluck Jonathan. To the people of the state, it was a dream come true. It has long been expected. In short, it is long overdue. Education is the first industry in IMO state. An average IMO person places education high and above every other thing. To an IMO man, education is a heritage, or better still ,call it their culture. An IMO man can sell his land or any other property to make sure that his children go to school. The rate by which education is regarded and hold in high esteem in the state is second to non in the whole of the country. So that is why the approval of the Hezekiah university becomes the most exciting news for the people of the state as at moment. Every year, children of the state travel far and near in their quests to access higher education, yet many are still not favoured. Despite the existence of the IMO state university, Owerri, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, IMO state polytechnic, Umuagwo, school of Nursing Science, Amaigbo, School of Health Science, Nwangele, International Institute of Journalism, Owerri, National Open University, Owerri ,and very many others in the state, the need for more higher institutions in the state become more urgent than ever. Over the time, most citizens of the state have beckoned on IMO billionaires to see reasons to establish private universities in the state in order to cushion the effect of lack of universities in the state. Because of lack of more universities in IMO state, youths of the state who are always desirous to attend higher institutions are meant to lavish more years at home before they might finally be considered by any other institution in the future. This university will for ever be appreciated by most reasonable people of the state. Hezekiah university has become a signpost which is about linking IMO to the national grid. It is the solution to the problem of lack of adequate universities in the state. It is the platform that is about adding more values to the youths of this generation and more generations to come. This is a university that is about reshaping destinies, channeling youths to the ways of hardwork and knowing God the more.with the approval of this history making institution in the state, our local economy is about experiencing great increase and improvement. More financial institutions, small and large scale enterprises, buildings, companies, and other development are about to spring up in the state. These will go in no small measure in helping to reduce the myriad problems of unemployment bedeviling the state. The approval of the Hezekiah university will also fight crimes in the state, as more minds, especially the young ones will be gainfully engaged. Remember that opportunities like this fight social maladies in every given environment. The HEZEKIAH university is a private university owned by the missionary. It is owned by our father and Daddy in the Lord. Rev.prof Daddy Obiajunwa Onukogu Hezekiah. He is the founder and leader of the Living Christ Mission incorporated. The Commission was founded in 1983 by the order and inspiration of God Almighty. He is the son of God sent to the world to destroy the powers of darkness and lead many to heaven. The church is one of the most populated missions in Africa. He is divinely gifted with the powers to heal diseases, raise the dead back to life, teach salvation, promote morality in the world, among others. He is one of the finest teachers of the gospel in the world. When you listen to Daddy Hezekiah teaching the bible, you must repent immediately. The man of God is not moved by the things of the world, as he is highly committed to his missionary work. He is not controversial, as he only speaks when God has directed him to speak. Daddy Hezekiah is very blunt. There is no room for condoning evil, being economical with the truth simply because one who is involved is wealthy or what. As long as it pleases Jesus Christ, His grace speaks without minding whose ox is gored. That is a true man of God and that is Daddy Hezekiah for you. He hails from Umugara Nkwerre in Nkwerre LGA of IMO state. I wish that other people will emulate this great son of God and build more universities, companies, industries in IMO state so that together we will build a greater and more viable state. ROYALD: This is A. Ilobi Avenue, Orlu, about 300meters long; it is one of the three principal roads - all total of about 1.5km - which ORO scrapped and completed in Orlu Lga. Leave the three principal roads and move inside Orlu, you pity people who live in the town - dusty, uncompleted and blocked roads all over the place. Does ORO care? |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Abagworo(m): 9:26pm On May 20, 2015 |
mandax: Orlu people should be grateful to God for allowing Okoeocha finish most of their roads before Jonathan started the financial attack against Nigeria. I have to say it now that many projects in Nigeria will stay abandoned for a while as we can barely pay our civil servants at all levels. States should focus on how to make money than how to spend it. The jamboree of impressionism is over. |

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by mandax: 9:50pm On May 20, 2015 |
Abagworo: Orlu-Umouwa-Nkwume Y Junction road - about 6km - remains scrapped; TESAC to St. Joseph's Chiurch Road - about 2km remains scrapped; Girls Secondary School (formerly Morning Star Girls Secondary School) - Orlu Road, about 1km remains scarapped; Amorji-Umudiatu Road about 1km remains scrapped. There are others. Close to 50,000 people living on both sides of these roads have been breathing dust in the last three and half years. Lung cancer is the possible utcome of inhaling dust for a long time. Do you, Abagworo, want Okorocha to commit mass murder in Orlu with your stance? Tufiakwa. We are watching. |

ROYALD:Building of roads, hospitals and schools is a welcome development. Yet, these things cannot put food on the table of our young graduates. Neither will it stop the high rate of unemployment in our dear state. What every reasonable Imo indigene should be asking Rochas is nothing but these: 1) Why do you think only government job is the best for our state? Since almost all the jobs you brag about are government owned. for example, Imo Youth Must Work Programme, Imo Shoe Industry, Imo Palm Plantation and Avutu Poultry. 2) How many Multi-National companies have you attracted to Imo state? At least we know of Sabmiller Breweries in Anambra and China steel in Ogun state. Even though you may want to use Imo as not befitting for heavy industries but as an hospitality zone, how many 5star international hotels have you attracted in Imo state? It's a fact that Goodwill Akpabio made his state a tourist heaven by attracting world class hotels like Le Meridian Ibom Hotel and Golf Course, Ibom Entertainment Centre and Lastly, La Capan Tropicana etc. What happened to the Prince and Princess hotel you claim is under construction. Why are you not giving attention to the Oguta wonder lake and golf course project abandoned by Ohakim? These and many more are what we must task Rochas on. And not the praise singing attitude some of my brothers here are known to exhibit. Ka odiri Imo na nma. 2 Likes |
