Abandoned!! flyover at Akwakuma near Owerri. I still do not know the reason for ignoring this all important ring road and bridges. Maybe paucity of funds

berem: Most of Okorocha's projects are above 90% and looks obviously possible to complete before May next year. So no cause for alarm. My own problem is with him deliberately neglecting Ohakims ideas and projects. I am giving him that benefit of doubt with regards to scarcity of funds. The money for the bridge could do for 6 more schools or 2 more rural roads. |

berem: Ohakim planned a ring road around Owerri that includes those 2 bridges which Okorocha neglected. This ring road would have made movement around Owerri much easier. Ohakim also started an international conference centre inside a quiet area of New Owerri which attained up to 60% completion but Okorocha neglected it and hurriedly replicated same project at Warehouse junction. After much critivism he has started a snail pace work on the centre. Though the roads in that area have now almost been completely tarred by Okorocha, the centre looks abandoned.

Abagworo: The Cancer Screening Centre and Ochiedike Dialysis/Diagnostic Centre built by Gov Rochas Okorocha in Owerri are projects an unbiased government should have established at the state's university teaching hospital in Orlu to boost the image of the hospital and its graduating doctors; but Okorocha-led govt cannot even complete the foundation buildings of the teaching hospital, talk less adding any new project to it. Even Ohakim govt added an oxygen supply centre to the teaching hospital. Shortly after Okorocha came to office, this has remained the condition of the only road leading to the state's university teaching hospital. 1 Like

anonimi: Imo governors hardly build upon the the projects of their predecessors. Every new Imo governor starts his own trademark projects; sometimes vainglory projects. The projects Rochas Okorocha shall now leave uncompleted, and upon which billions of Naira have been expended, are most likely to be abandoned by his successors. Okorocha Approves N400m For IMSUTH Projects Completion Posted by admin on Oct 31st, 2014 Okorocha of Imo State says he has approved the release of N400 million for the immediate completion of structures at the Imo State University Teaching Hospital (IMSUTH), Orlu. Okorocha disclosed this while inspecting the Nursing Department of the institution and directed contractors handling the projects to complete them within the next three weeks for commissioning. The governor said that with the release of the fund, the contractors would have no reason not to complete the job on schedule. He warned that the government would not spare anyone who failed to comply with the directive. The governor, during the visit, settled the N200,000 hospital bill of one Mrs Chinwendu Iwu from Nwangele, who had a surgical operation at the teaching hospital. berem:he made a statement in 2011 that he will rule imo state for four years and step down and he also said that he willl complete some of the unfinished project going on under the guise of the former governor of imo state, ohakim... This politicians cant be trusted... Go to mechanic village,there is uncompleted flyover bridge leading to aladinma which is abandon by rochas till date... I guess it s because,the revenue allocated to imo state is too small. Miss berem i wonder why yu want rochas to complete his 2nd tenure because of abandon a project abi... i see yur point..  but dont yu know that. Governorship is too small for rochas my man eeh?  I see him beyond a governor of imo state because i wanna see him as a president of nigeria. So back to yur wish berem...... i dont want him to come back. emmysoftyou: Rochas Okorocha actually said he'll do one term and go for Presidency as far back as 2011. I believe he will like to keep to his words but Imo citizens are persuading him to continue till 2019 but dont support them. Orlu zone has ruled much while there are 3 zones in Imo State. Let Rochas go for VP as I have always wished while he uses his popularity in Imo to support an Owerri zone candidate for Governorship. |

This happened at an APC facilitators and stakeholders' meeting held today at imo state government house..Owelle declared that he is not contesting for a second tenure but would be going for the centre (Presidency or Vice)..He asked those interested in various offices from State House of Assembly to the National Assembly to publicly declare their intentions ,which they did.He then moved to the governorship. The followings made their intentions to govern Imo come 2 5..Three of those who declared were Dr. Prince Charles Onuoha, former commissioner for Housing. The Deputy Governor Prince Madumere and the Chief of Staff/ Commissioner for Special Duties. Jude Ejiogu..Governor Okorocha said a plebiscite will be held to determine the final contestants from those that made their intentions known. All the contestants are from Owerri Zone meaning that it has been zoned to Owerri zone... |

It s becos i dont understand why you keep insisting or always want rochas to go for vice president? which i know fully well that it s not part of what rochas even want as a polical dream right from time he came out to compete with obasanJo/yaradua in pdp primary election in 1999/2007 which was zone in favour of the west or north... #angry....so dont yu think it s an insult to put him as a vice president? daddy'' i still believe that rochas will be a formidable oponent against president jonathan... There are many other younger people like myself who abhor corruption but Buhari right now has been tested and trusted. My parents and even grandparents attest to that. |

@Abagworo, 1, NL is still waiting for your picture of the only road to IMSUTH. You went to Orlu recently; or, stop misleading the public on NL. 2, Buhari cannot cure Nigeria of corruption. Restructuring the polity to true and fiscal federalism - if you know what that means - is what can cure Nigeria of corruption. 3, If by any miracle Buhari becomes president in 2015, Buhari's VP, possibly from south of Nigeria, cannot take over from Buhari in 2019; because the argument must be that north shall complete its first eight years in Aso Rock since 1999. A northerner must therefore continue till 2023. And by 2023 elections, there shall be no zoning; so it is wrong to believe that the presidency shall not still remain with north after 2023. 2 Likes |
