millionaireman: You know I am a truthful person and can neither be bribed nor intimidated into saying what is not. When Odili was nearly given Yar'Adua VP ticket Ijaws lead by Edwin Clarke fought so hard claiming an Igbo man should never be given South-South slot for VP. The Ohaneze were too compromised like the present one to make case for Odili or even challenge Edwin Clarke and his militants. All is history now but that VP is the President today which means Peter Odili would have been President. Today all lovers of Nigeria and those who wish it well are rooting for Buhari and we also have the chance of producing his VP in Rochas or Ngige. Tell me what is convincing enough to leave these two performing Igbos to a non-performing Bayelsa man? 1 Like |

Abagworo: A far north presidential candidate in APC shall not win the 2015 presidential election, more so, given the level of insecurity emanating from the north these days. Nigeria's unity has continued to rest on rotating the presidency among its constituent blocks. Candidates from far north have led Nigeria several times since the 1960s. Nigerians are not bred to perpetuate injustice - injustice kills a country. Normally, it is the turn of the Igbo/Southeast to succeed President Jonathan. If APC is truly a national party, a Rochas Okorocha as its presidential candidate could have won APC Aso Rock clean. Even before he entered politics, Okorocha has had philanthropic organisations all over Nigeria. But so far, APC seems to be an organisation aimed to return Nigeria back to the hands of far north. If by any miracle APC wins Aso Rock in next election with Okorocha as VP, Okorocha shall be rendered redundant in office, and at one point likely to bolt away in anger. Above all, by 2019, (or even if Buhari could not complete four years), far north must insist that north must complete eight years in office. Then by 2023, zoning of the presidency shall be de-emphasized by far north to enable north still retain the presidency. 1 Like |

Lagos Pastor reveals Rochas would be Nigeria president come 2015 The General Overseer of Galilee Christian Center in Lagos, Prophet Williams Onuoha, has predicted that the current governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, would become Nigeria’s president in 2015.According to him, for this to happen, Okorocha would have to adhere to God’s direction, adding that only a running mate from the South West region can give him the presidency. In a recent interview with Daily Sun, Onuoha, who is seen and referred to by many who attend his church as a highly gifted prophet of God, said he saw the vision in 2011 and now it’s coming to pass. “In 2011, I saw in a vision that the present governor of Imo State Owelle Rochas Okorocha will be president in 2015. And in one of the national dailies recently, the governor said he would be president in 2015 and that it had been prophesied. True. I had seen this vision, but there are things that needs to be done before this prophesy can come to pass and one of them is that only a running mate from the South West region can give him the presidency.“I have never met the governor before. When he said last week in the papers that he would become president in 2015 and that it had been prophesied, I was not surprised. What I saw in 2011, the governor said in 2014. God is truly wonderful,” the prophet said. Onuoha said he had predicted the global economic meltdown and that a black man will become president of the United States. He explained that he has made so many revelations and all have come to pass. The man of God said: “Three weeks to when the Ebola virus came into Nigeria I had told my members to pray seriously so that the country can escape the calamity that was to befall her. We did pray and by His grace we escaped.“I feel it is time to free this country from the grip of the devil and his agents. Look at our youths; they lack direction. This is because the head is corrupt. When the head is corrupt the body will definitely be corrupt.“Many of our industries today are controlled by the devil. Look at music, for instance. Even some gospel artistes have now fallen by the wayside. This country needs God’s intervention, and she needs it very fast. That is why true men of God should not relent in praying for this nation. Many are no longer with God. Even in the house of God is corruption. Pastors, bishops now preach money. They no longer preach God’s word to the people. When the wicked are in power the people suffer.”Asked how he came about the name of his church, he said an Angel revealed it to him in trance.Recall recently, Governor Okorocha had boasted that he would defeat President Goodluck Jonathan in the forthcoming 2015 elections saying:“I have the capacity to govern the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I must also make it abundantly clear that the PDP and indeed, President Goodluck Jonathan, cannot defeat me in the forthcoming general election.”Speak ing last week Monday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) rally, Okorocha proudly declared that he would be the president in 2015. IGR: Imo grosses past N1bn Imo State has grossed past the N1 billion mark in its internally generated revenue (IGR) by end of September 2014, BusinessDay reliably gathered from Chike John Okafor, the immediate past commissioner of finance in the state, who has just resigned his appointment to pursue a political career at the House of Representatives by 2015. The amount indicates an increase of more than 233 per cent from about N300 million recorded by the state by end of May 2011, when the Governor Rochas Okorocha administration assumed office in state. Okafor, a former senior bank manager at Zenith Bank plc Owerri, before being snapped up in June 2011, from the financial world by Governor Rochas Okorocha, said, the IGR jump was as a result of government’s moves to block most of the revenue leakages in the system. The Umuoke, Obowo local government area-born crown prince and investment banker, said the State’s IGR profile grew from N221m in March 2011 to N300m by June, and N400m in October of same year, before hiking through 2012 to notch N750m by close of 2013 fiscal year. He said in 2014, the state’s IGR drive has changed tremendously, as the state government’s method of revenue collection has engendered confidence in the tax payers, who he said, now feel no hurt in paying their taxes promptly, “due to what they saw in the number of projects being built by the Owelle Rochas Okorocha’s rescue mission government.” “Imolites now have confidence in the Governor Okorocha’s All Progressives Congress (APC) state government’s prudent use of public funds to build projects that touch the lives of the masses,” stated Okafor; adding that the revenue from internal sources would keep on improving, as long as the rescue government would be on the saddle in the state. Explaining the public current view of perceived increased sources of the funds for Imo, which may have informed the upsurge in projects development, the Imo State University (IMSU) Economics graduate said, the rising IGR, coupled with prudent financial management of the Okorocha have combined to accentuate things. He said: “Imo only picks around N4.7bn from the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FACC), whereas states like Akwa Ibom collects around N32bn, Rivers 25bn, Bayelsa N18bn. Ours is just the way we manage our funds with respect to projects execution.” http://businessdayonline.com/2014/11/igr-imo-grosses-past-n1bn/ |

GOV. ROCHAS OKOROCHA OPENS IMO STATE MICRO FINANCE BANK His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has opened the Imo State Micro Finance Bank for operations with the governor having already successfully secured a disbursable two billion naira (N2billion) Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN) Micro Small and medium enterprises fund. Opening the Imo State Micro Finance Bank weekend the Governor said his government had taken the initiative because of its believe that “power is incomplete until the ordinary man is made a participant in the economy of that state. That is the reason behind the establishment of this bank”. The Governor continued “today, the people of Imo State now own a bank. The bank is here with us. The Imo State Micro Finance bank is today a reality. With this, the Government House is finally brought closer to all the nook and cranny of the State. Today, with this bank, the crucibles of the Rescue Mission government have fallen on the ground for the ordinary people”. “In Nigeria today, kobo is no longer considered as a medium of exchange not because kobo has lost its value, and not because the CBN can no longer produce kobo through the mint, but because the common man is not made an active participant in the economic affairs of our nation. This is why in the Rescue Mission government we believe in the principle of “Kobo Must Return (KMR)” he added. The governor further stated, “with this micro finance bank kobo again will be in circulation in every nook and cranny of the state. Today, it is no longer the old stories of kidnapping, armed robbery, car snatching, and all kinds of evil because the economic activities in Imo State have picked up and people are economically engaged”. “The Imo micro finance bank is the People’s bank. The essence of all these is to save the lives of numerous poor Imolites while protecting the interest of the few rich. The bank will give loans to the poor widows, artisans, poor traders and so on so that they can grow up to become active participants in the economy. Pension funds will be opened in the bank to ensure that our pensioners get their pensions as at when due”, he stated. “We will open branches in all the 637 autonomous communities in the state. I am particularly happy that this bank has come in the life of this administration. I want to call on well-meaning Imolites, those who have the resources to put some of their money in this bank for the benefit of our people. I am the first customer of the bank. I have opened an account in it and I expect all government functionaries to do the same” he added. “This is a very serious bank. This is not politically oriented bank where you give loans to your brothers and sisters without the political will to recover the money. When you are given money in this bank, we shall make sure you pay back. The bank will service the people of Imo State”, the Governor remarked. Present at the function were the governor’s wife Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha, the representative of the Central Bank Governor Mr. Rom K. Aligwe, Chief of Staff Government House, Sir Jude Ejiogu and the Commissioner of Finance Imo State, Chief Ike Njoku who is the Chairman, Board of Directors of the bank. |
