One must be a fool to be proud of Imo state unless one is from Owerri side. Confidence politicians that took the state since 2007 made Owerri state capital to become Imo state. Nothing goes on again in Imo state outside Owerri area. Worse, since the last two years, man-made violence has taken the lives of precious young people, and crippled economic activities in large part of Imo West Senatorial area. But on a daily basis, nitwits scream Owerri, Owerri, Owerri here, and expect enlightened folks to clap for them and Owerri on a thread that should be about Imo state. 1 Like |

rtdCivilservant: Awomamma man. I can't abuse your mother and sister, because I am not a nitwit person like you driven solely by cash from your pimping business in Owerri hotels. Malevolent politicians want to use the federal allocations of the 27 LGAs of Imo state to build beaches in Owerri where no sea or ocean exists, after more than a decade of their demolishing and rebuilding infrastructures in Owerri. But after every rain, unchecked floods wreck havoc in my Orlu hometown in Imo state, one can hardly navigate on 99% of the roads in my hometown. You don't see that something is wrong with Imo state. You come here to shout Owerri, Owerri and Owerri, every time. 2 Likes |

asha80 At least two police officers were on Sunday killed by gunmen suspected to be members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and its Eastern Security Network, ESN during an attack at Isu police division. The attackers were said to have come in their numbers at about 11:30pm with at least two Toyota Sienna Buses, a Toyota Camry Car, and unspecified number of motorcycles when they launched the attack at the station from the rear axis. At the station which had no perimeter fencing, the attackers according to PPRO of Imo State police command, CSP Michael Abattam shot sporadically, throwing petrol bombs and Improvised Explosive Devices (I.E.D) which set the station on fire. CSP Abattam said the police operatives of the division immediately, responded by engaging the hoodlums in a gun duel, leading the attackers to flee with varying degrees of bullet wounds. He added, “The gallant police operatives did not relent, they gave the hoodlums a hot chase and while escaping some ran into Golden Suite Hotel and Isu Villa Hotel respectively, the two hotels were immediately cordoned and raided and in the process, a total of Twelve (12) motorcycles without identification numbers and two vehicles one (1) Lexus RX350 SUV and one (1) Lexus RX330 SUV believed to have been used by the hoodlums were seen and recovered. “Also seventeen (17) male and female suspects were arrested and undergoing interrogation. “However, the fire and Improvised Explosives Devices (IED) affected some vehicles and part of the building of the division, and unfortunately, two police officers paid the supreme prize, while one sustained minor bullet injury on his head.” Abattam says Commissioner of Police, Imo Command, CP Rabiu Hussaini, while consoling the families of the officers who gallantly lost their lives, appealed to the good people of the state, not to allow terrorists to use their Communities, Hotels or Houses as a meeting point to converge for any nefarious activities. https://abntv.com.ng/140053-suspected-ipob-esn-members-attack-imo-police-station-kill-two/ https://www.nairaland.com/6997542/suspected-ipob-esn-members-attack

SmartPolician: With Rocha's Magu-magu behavior, you don't know if those properties are still government properties or if they now belong to his family members. I don't know if you remember him trying to 'sell' community hospitals he didn't build to his brother 'Ochedike' during his tenure. I can only image what he has done with the properties he built or initiated. but i could be wrong. |

SmartPolician:ISOPADEC is not same as Imo state government, so they don't have right to take over government infrastructures except the government decides to allot it to them. Remember, ISOPADEC is just like NDDC, is like saying NDDC should take over federal government infrastructures without federal government's approval. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by SmartPolician: 7:54am On Feb 23, 2022 |
rtdCivilservant: I get your point. However, you don't compare NDDC/FG and ISOPADEC/IMSG because you cannot compare a region (which is bigger and requires lots of health facilities to cater for the people) with a small Imo State. I think it is about having visionary people in leadership. You see, all the ISOPADEC boss needed to do was to write Imo State government to intimate them of the plan to take over the abandoned projects and complete them. After all, they all have the same vision of developing the state. If Hope is a sensible man, he will approve request. Remember, every abandoned project is useless and a complete waste of scarce resources. It's annoying to see governments abandon their predecessor's uncompleted projects because they want to start and complete their projects. That's the most senseless argument I have heard people make in an effort to criticize Buhari. 2 Likes |

The 13% payment from oil derivation by federal government to Imo state oil producing areas had for decades gone into building state capital - building and demolishing and rebuilding Owerri markets, roads, flyovers, road tunnels where no hills existed, 6 inland roads where one is necessary, beautifying Owerri, and this time, plans to drain Nworie river and build beaches (according to Engineer Iwuanyanwu's instruction to gov Ohakim) for relaxation in Owerri; while the oil producing areas of the state had no access roads, no hospitals no nothing. Owerri is supposed to be built with proceeds from its landed properties tax, its share of federal allocations; not with the federal allocations to Orlu and the other LGAs of Imo state, not with the 13% derivation to oil producing areas. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Amah70: 11:35am On Feb 23, 2022 |
Otokoto riots shall be a tea party. Since 2011, the federal allocations to the 27 LGAs of Imo state, as well as the federal allocations to IMSG, have mostly gone into building and demolishing and rebuilding devt infrastructures in Owerri state capital. It enriches native land owners of Owerri. More than 95% of money in Imo state circulates only in Owerri area. These other LGAs remain stagnant. Their people get impoverished, or migrate to Owerri for living. When the bottled up anger in these LGAs explodes, Otokoto riots may be a tea party. |
