Who told u Xtianity is going down? Most of these baseless arguments of Muslims that the fastest growing religion is Islam is baseless. How is Islam growing? My two dollar take on this pictures, particularly the 3 kids with the "Death to America" poster, Religion is a crime against humanity. Islam is at a precipice. Christianity was at this stage in Europe in the 17th century but luckily for all of us, the liberals defeated the religionists! I put my opinion like this; If someone says Jesus was a homosexual scam or that Muhammad was actually a womanizing drunk or that Bhudda was a slimy bastard, if i adhered to any of them (which I don't, thankfully) and was convinced the allegations are untrue, i'd completely ignore such talk. Akiika: Going by some of the comments i have read here, some of you guys are as d.u.m.b as the uninformed self acclaimed muslims protesting the movie they haven't even seen. There are as terrible christians as there are muslims...some of you commentators are fraudsters, liars, backbiters, bribe givers/takers e.t.c...yet you sit there typing gibberish. Rather than go after the Govt' that prevented these illiterates from getting the requisite education to think independently, you are condemning a religion you know nothing about. One in every fourth person in the world is a muslim with the highest number of convert in the United States since the 20th century, if the religion is as bad as some of you are ignorantly portraying it, how come people still convert to it. And to the guy that posted that quote from the Quran, why not post the preceding chapters too that explains the situation that quote refers to (are there no verses in the bible that 'in context' sounded violent?). Some of you guys are as religion intolerant as the boko haram or other religion extremists. I am a proud muslim, i understand my religion enough to understand that Allah not only condemn violence, but He'll punish those that does it in His name. I condemn the movie, i believe the maker is a mischief looking at a cheap way to fame(he is a documented criminal anyway), but i don't believe anybody should resort to violence to demonstrate their disapproval let alone killing innocent people. Those that just reposted the youtube clip on this forum are equally culpable of attempting to heat up the the fragile peace in Nigeria. You said Allah condemns violence, yet your Quoran is filled with over 20 verses that encourages you to kill unbelievers.. here is one of my favorite verses Quran (4:76) - "Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah…".. you mean 2:190: Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loveth not aggressors. You dont believe anyone should resort to violence and yet you call yourself a Muslim.. What hypocrisy.. Your religion calls you an Infidel, and you will rot in hell for not fighting in the name of Allah... where?...because your Q quote didn't say that Quran (9:38-39) - "O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that, when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the Hereafter. Unless ye go forth, He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place." This is a warning to those who refuse to fight, that they will be punished with Hell. .... The Qur'an commands Muslims to stick up for themselves in a defensive battle -- i.e. if an enemy army attacks, then Muslims are to fight against that army until they stop their aggression. All of the verses that speak about fighting/war in the Qur'an are in this context. There are some specific verses that are very often "snipped" out of context, either by critics of Islam discussing "jihadism," or by misguided Muslims themselves who wish to justify their aggressive tactics. "Slay Them" - If They Attack You First For example, one verse (in its snipped version) reads: "slay them wherever you catch them" (Qur'an 2:191). But who is this referring to? Who are "they" that this verse discusses? The preceding and following verses give the correct context: "Fight in the cause of God those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for God loves not transgressors. And slay them wherever you catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter, But if they cease, God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful, If they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression" (2:190-193). It is clear from the context that these verses are discussing a defensive war, when a Muslim community is attacked without reason, oppressed and prevented from practicing their faith. In these circumstances, permission is given to fight back -- but even then Muslims are instructed not to transgress limits, and to cease fighting as soon as the attacker gives up. Even in these circumstances, Muslim are only to fight directly against those who are attacking them, not innocent bystanders or non-combatants. "Fight the Pagans" - If They Break Treaties A similar verse can be found in chapter 9, verse 5 -- which in its snipped, out of context version could read: "fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war)." Again, the preceding and following verses give the context. This verse was revealed during a historical period when the small Muslim community had entered into treaties with neighboring tribes (Jewish, Christian, and pagan). Several of the pagan tribes had violated the terms of their treaty, secretly aiding an enemy attack against the Muslim community. The verse directly before this one instructs the Muslims to continue to honor treaties with anyone who has not since betrayed them, because fulfilling agreements is considered a righteous action. Then the verse continues, that those who have violated the terms of the treaty have declared war, so fight them, (as quoted above). Directly after this permission to fight, the same verse continues, "but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them, for God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful." The subsequent verses instruct the Muslims to grant asylum to any member of the pagan tribe/army who asks for it, and again reminds that "as long as these stand true to you, stand ye true to them: for God loves the righteous." Conclusion Any verse that is quoted out of context misses the whole point of the message of the Qur'an. Nowhere in the Qur'an can be found support for indiscriminate slaughter, the killing of non-combatants, or murder of innocent persons in 'payback' for another people's alleged crimes. The Islamic teachings on this subject can be summed up in the following verses (Qur'an 60:7-: "It may be that God will grant love (and friendship) between you and those whom ye (now) hold as enemies. For God has power (over all things), and God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. God does not forbid you, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for God loves those who are just." ...So, by your standard, good muslims are the violent ones? choose what you want to believe bro...One undisputable fact in life is...It is good to be good. The world would have surely been a better place without these blood suckers(muslims). Take a look at the muslim community of today and see the level of blood shed. Look at Iraq, Afganistan, Pakistan, Somalia, northern Nigeria and so on. Has there ever been a time when these bastards come out to protest the activities of boko haram?
