This is very bad...the worst part of it now is that d both Delta & Anambra state goverment are helples in this matter,we need all these disaster managing people e.g NEMA and co at the sites now ASAP cus the niger is everyday and will soon flood the expressway and cause another big problem like the one in benue by making impossible to cross the niger...both states can't solve this problem alone without FG intervention...people are losing millions daily to this flood esp in Asaba e.g TOURIST GARDEN HOTEL

musiwa7: You should not try to stop the flood. I think the best approach is to allow the water to continue. that way people can move inward.. for safety. the cameroon dam is about to crack open.

Nigeria has the choice to help cameroon or allow the dam to crack open. I will say allow the dam to crack up and let the water flow. It sound crazy. but I think my idea will work.

In adamawa state, they have irrigation problem. By allowing the dam to crack open. Nigeria can use the water for irrigation.. the benue have reduce in width because cameroon dam the river.

But nigeria has to plan for this dam cracking by building water channel diversion system in adamawa. And now this water channel diversion system can now be converted to irrigation system..

And we can also dam this river on the nigeria side if the lagdo Dam in cameroon crack up. It is already 35 years old.

To manage the problem the solution is water channel diversion system in adamawa. But we need water breakers along the path because of large volume of water may damage the water channel diversion system

Please go take your Anafranil or Viagra Tablets. Something is wrong with you somewhere.

this is the part close to the shore not the main market
Ileke-IdI:
Nah, this can't be Onitsha market na. . . . .the Onitsha market I hear about (on NL) looks more prestigious than this run down dirty island.
Re: Flood At Onitsha Market As River Niger Rises by WHISTLEBLOWER1: 6:20am On Sep 29, 2012
This is the prestigious Main Market Onitsha. Took this picture yesterday afternoon. There was nothing like flood anywhere near main market. Maybe the op is talking about River Shoreline towards Kogi and Benue and some parts of Delta, no part of Anambra is affected whatsoever by the any flood. God Bless Anambra state- The Light of the Nation

@ whistle blower. That was a pix u took sometime ago and posted on NL. That is M/Mkt yes but d poster said the 'fish market' at d main market. Most ppl here dont know the area. I confirm there was a surge and it has covered the fish market threathen part of the clothing lines dat are close to d banks. If anyone knows where they sell okirika shoes just facing d niger? Those areas are no go area as we speak. The gov shd do something befor it get to the shops proper.

If the river had been dredged I don't think the situation of flood would have come up to this. Better late than never. Dredge the Niger. My 2cent.

Ret.ard,op do not said the water has enter the market, but he said as the water level is rising and that if nothing is done the water will take over the market, and he is specific about the fish market and the people living along the bank of the river,i know that you only know how to write a receipt for sparepart

this flood has sack ogbaru pipo in Anambra. Was told dat of d 14 villages in d local govt 12 are in water. And places they took shelter has been submergd. D real impact is poverty cos all d farms are in flood. D farmers are resueing self not farm produce. So expect food scarcity
