Tribunal Annuls Enugu Governor's Election by spora(m): 4:01pm On Jan 18, 2008
The Enugu State Election Petitions Tribunal, this morning declared the election of Governor Sullivan Chime null and void, saying voting did not take place in most parts of the state.

This is indeed a terrible week for the governor, as you will recall, he collapsed, just on Tuesday, at the Michael Opara Square in Enugu while laying a wreath during the Armed Forces Remebrance Day.

Also the election of Hon. Terngu Tsegba(PDP) representing Tarka/Gboko Federal Constituency of Benue State in the House of Representatives was annulled by the state election Petitions Tribunal.

But what kind of constitutional framework is it that allows for officers to be sworn in
amidst allegations of improprieties.

Why were the results and challenges and all disputes associated with the election not addressed before the public officers were sworn in?
